After a year the Google Pixel phone stop working and I had to pay $200 to get a replacement phone. Greeks Squad send me two phone that did not work on arriveble. The third replacement Google Pixel phone worked for another 45 days and store management will not replace it unless I pay another $200 deductible. Huge bezels on top and bottom, reduced battery capacity, software and hardware that drains more battery than competitors, and no 5G. This phone was a no-go for me.

GPS/Compass calibration is off on this phone. It cannot be relied on for navigation, which for some is a key feature. Unacceptable for a flagship phone at flagship price.

So I'll pretense this with the fact that I probably would have given this phone a solid 3.5-4 star rating out of the gate, but I toughed it out and I'm glad I did. The battery was draining pretty quickly for the cost that that was really doing it in for me; no other features mattered if I couldn't get through the day to use them. But I gave the phone a chance and I'm really glad that I did. This is the best android phone I've had. Prior to this phone I was bouncing back and forth between the Samsung Galaxy S8+ and the iPhone X because I loved the iPhone's size camera but I so longed for android's OS which took heavy launcher modification on the Galaxy S8+. In comes the Pixel 4XL, which gave me the stock android I'd missed so dearly since my old Nexus 6. After charging through a couple of battery cycles, the battery is usually sitting at 50% at the end of the day, so for me, the phone usually lasts about 1.5 days solid, no questions. Battery is never a problem. Its unfortunate that this phone caught so much flack for battery drain because in my own tests, idk if they did tweaks with updates or if the battery needed to be exercised, but I never have ANY issues anymore with it after charging it up and draining it the first couple of times. Now it lasts all day. The camera is unreal. Although people will be frustrated that it doesn't have two cameras on front and 3 cameras on back (the wide angle cameras), the front camera is already has a very wide FOV, much wider than the iPhone X, which made it an instant upgrade for me, not to mention the quality was much better. The rear cameras are incredibly crisp, and exactly what I enjoy, which is true color. I'm not a fan of Samsung's camera software which tends to over saturate photos natively, so the Pixels camera is provides photos that are just how you see them which is how I like them. The night site works incredibly well which I've tested extensively inside, outside, on the move, and stationary. The video I can't speak to because I haven't tested. The face unlock is absurdly fast almost to a fault, and it does work at angles which the iPhone does not. It is, although, quite annoying that other apps don't work with it yet. I'm hoping that changes soon. I've tried my hand at a lot of different manufacturers over the years in HTC, Samsung, Google, Apple, Motorola, and LG, and so far the Pixel 4 XL has won me over as my favorite to date.

Personally I think its is the best looking pixel to date. I like the color choices they offer on this model and the accent colors they chose for the power button gives a nice touch. The phone is a tad heavier and thicker than I would prefer. If you add a case its going to add even more girth. Does feel good in hand though. I'm glad they moved away from the notch design this year. Although I'm not sure why phone manufactures feel the need to add glass to the backs but the trend continues. The orange and white models have a matte finish while the black model, which I have, has a very glossy finish. The display is a qhd+ oled panel that supports 90hz refresh rate. With that said the resolution, smoothness, and black levels are fantastic. But I noticed that the oled display color is very warm. When I compare to other phones with oled displays the pixel 4 xl has a yellowish tint to it. I played around with color and display settings. Disabling adaptive eq in display settings helped a little bit with this but overall its still too warm. I just feel like the colors and whites are not as crisp as others. I hope google fixes this with a software update. At first I thought not having a finger print reader was going to be a deal breaker but the face unlock works really well. After a day or so I don't even miss the finger print reader. For apps that don't support it you have to use pin or pattern until the support is there which isn't a huge deal. The face unlock was very easy to setup. Its also pretty quick and faster than using a finger print reader or entering a pin. Motion Sense is interesting. I do enjoy being able to reach out and wave over the display to have it wake up and show me if I have any pending notifications. Doesn't seem to have much impact on battery either. You can use it to do a few other things but honestly its best used with the screen wake and to speed up face unlock. It will be interesting to see what else they use this for down the road. The camera is nothing short of amazing. Hands down best phone camera I've ever used. The night sight and astrophotography features are fantastic. All the hype out there about the camera is true. Nuff said! The sound that comes out of the dual built in speakers is also the best I've heard to date. Battery life seems ok a device with a 3700mah battery. I'm getting about two days out of a charge right now with moderate use so I'll probably have to charge it every other day. The charger it comes with is 18 watt which is a bit higher than most other phone manufactures provide for fast charging. It also supports 11 watt qi wireless charging so thats an upgrade over last years models. A nice little touch is that they also included a usb-a to usb-c adapter in the box as well. With this years model the unlocked version works on all major US carries. Just pop in your sim and your ready to go. Comes out of the box with Android 10 which at the time of writing this is latest. This includes the new google assistant and new gesture navigation. If you want the old 3 button navigation you have the option to flip back but then you don't get the new google assistant for some reason. Since this is stock android the app bloat is to a minimal. I noticed text to speech and google assistant are both a lot faster now that they are doing more of the compute locally on the device. Below is a list of pros and cons based on my personal usage. Pros: Tech specs are all top notch New google assistant Quick text to speech Quick face unlock Quick charge Camera and app Pure android with fast os/security updates Dual speakers Device is overall very fast Cons: Phone weight and thickness Display color is too warm Back of phone is glass To summarize I think this is a great device with a lot of tech. I feel like there are other phones that have a better overall looking design but the internals and software are what make this phone really stick out. If quick updates, pure android, and camera are important to you then this is the phone for you.

This phone is the biggest disappointment of Christmas. It will not pair with the intended users hearing aids. Their own tech support can't figure out why. It is too complicated to be user friendly. The features that are supposed to make is accessible only make it more confusing. It has too many bugs to be useful. At least mine does. I have never hated a piece of equipment like I hate this phone.

I ordered a new Google Pixel 4XL. No where in the description online did it say anything about being a re-manufactured, opened box camera. When I received it in the mail, it was a used camera! It had many issues. The major issue was that there was no where to access voicemails. When I went to the store to return it, the customer service rep said there was a $47 restock fee!!! I will NEVER buy anything from Best Buy again!

I bought this and returned it two days later,. There is no finger security and I really wanted that. I was upgrading from a pixel 3xl and didn't think or look to check that Google removed the finger sensor on this model. Wish google would have made it more prominent, I am out a restocking fee. So google gets a negative from me.

I was looking forward to the pure Android experience. I have never been more disappointed with a phone. I guess I have been spoiled by Samsung's UI. No fingerprint sensor, no external storage, only 64 his of storage, etc. Not very used friendly. I returned it there same day!
