It's an ok phone. I've only had it for 7 months and people can't hear properly if I put the speaker on. They say I'm brwaking up. That was the reason I changed the phone. Camera is ok, focus is not very good.

someone said it lands the sweet spot i agree but the glass is terrible i dropped the phone in between the driver seat and the center console and the phone has 3 cracks now with one of the cracks goes right across the middle of the screen. i bought a case and when i put the phone in the case a few more cracks with one of the new cracks slightly elevated this is totally unacceptable. i have had a lg phone from 2011 and has dropped it from waist high level and it would perfectly disassemble with the front back and battery separated i could always just snap the 3 pieces back together .however the lg could not be updated .

Do not buy this phone, I did and I regret it. There is no tech support, you have to get an appointment. My Pixel 4a would not receive texts from iphones due to inherit problems with Google software. My texts from my previous iphone did not transfer, no help with tech support. The fix is unknown as far as I know. And one more thing the fingerprint button is on the backside. Just how is that going to be useful when you have the phone mounted on a dash. I bought the phone for the camera, but after the bad experience with the virtually not tech support I gave up and sent it back.

The pinch zoom stopped working after a while. Funny that some days it works. I searched the web and apparently it is a common issue with no solution from google. Map without the pinch zoom is not usable. The screen lower part also lost touch sensitivity and resolution, so typing is a nightmare. I had it for less than 6 month and already thinking to buy a new phone which i can actually use.

Disappointing Phone. Host of problems, gesture feature is too fast, keypad characters are smaller than any phone i have owed, phone automatically goes in to Do Not Disturb Mode even though that feature is turned off, you have to remember too push power button before to put into your pocket or you will butt dial, and now i get message " you cannot make this phone call because you have a incoming call answer incoming call first" I erase call history and still have problem. I made the mistake of not purchasing a warranty, i cannot return because it has been longer than 14 days. The only feature i like is Battery longevity.

It was exciting to use but the design is overly sleek, so sleek I broke it within 15 days of purchase. I will not recommend it for this sole reason. make it easy to grasp rather than slip. I am very disappointed by this.

The speaker crackles badly, I can't make phone calls because I can't hear anyone through the top speaker. I didn't drop it, it didn't come into contact with anything peculiar. I don't even take it into steamy places (How much could I have done? It's been a month in a pandemic) I wouldn't buy this phone again, I wouldn't buy another pixel, and I don't recommend this to anyone. The use is not intuitive, the gestures are weird, and many times it refuses to open things. If you like static hum, frozen screens, and a mess of gestures, sure. Go for it, but before that maybe spend the money on something worth it instead.

The Pixel 4a Delivers Without Draining Your Wallet

With the Pixel 4a, Google proves you can get a lot of phone without having to buy the top of the line flagships. Sure it’s not as sleek as the premium phones and doesn’t include features such as waterproofing, 5G, and wireless charging, but at the mid-range price that Google is charging for this phone, it still packs a ton of features and is the perfect phone for the value conscious consumer. Having used so many larger, heavier phones that stuck out of my back pocket, I have forgotten how well a small 5.8” screen phone feels in one hand. The phone is very light, but the weight is well balanced and it is easy to steady and touch the screen on one hand. The screen itself is bright and the colors on the display are vibrant. At its brightest setting, I was easily able to see the contents of the screen in bright sunlight. I really enjoy the Google line of phones, such as this Pixel 4a, because of the pure android experience. No third party bloatware apps and no third party user interfaces to bog down the system. It doesn’t have the powerful processors like the more expensive phones, but I don’t feel the average consumer needs it. This phone handles all the typical tasks with ease. Apps open nearly instantaneously and swiping is smooth and dynamic. I also love the fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. The sensor does a fantastic job recognizing my fingerprint and unlocks quickly. Perhaps the best feature of the pixel 4a is the camera. What google has done with the combination of camera hardware and software is nothing short of astonishing. Pictures in daylight and low light are just gorgeous and sharp. Even when zooming into the photo and pixel peeping, you are able to see details. Photos are bright, with plenty of contrast, natural color, and dynamic range. With Portrait mode, you can adjust the background blur as though you had taken the picture with a DSLR with an expensive lens. The camera also handles challenging lighting conditions with ease. I love the Night Sight feature on the camera. It basically allows you to take a photo with very little available light and makes it look like it was taken in a more well lit environment. It’s just amazing what the software can do. Adding to that is the astrophotography feature within Night Sight which allows pictures to be taken of the stars by taking long exposure shots. You’ll need to mount the camera on a tripod to do this though. For video, the camera can shoot in 1080p (30fps, 60fps) and also in 4k. It also features slow motion, time lapse, panorama shots, and photo sphere. The camera on the pixel 4a shows you that you can get some impressive pictures and videos without having to resort to using a DSLR. And let us not forget about the Google Assistant on the phone. This is a new Google Assistant which allows it to have more interaction with your apps such as sending texts, searching photos, and getting directions. I fiddled with apps, streamed movies and music, browsed the web, and made phone calls throughout the day and the battery kept up with me. Unless you are a heavy user, I don’t see why the phone shouldn’t be able to last a day between charges. One feature that brought a smile to my face is that Google kept the 3.5 mm headphone jack on the pixel 4a for those times we still need a wired connection to our legacy audio devices. In summary, you’d be hard pressed not to consider the pixel 4a on your short list of mid-range phones. It is comfortable to hold with one hand, performs exceptionally well, has a battery that can last the day, has a top of the line camera, and even retains the headphone jack! With the pixel 4a you also get a guaranteed minimum three years of operating system and security updates. A lot of phone manufacturers won’t update beyond the installed OS, so there is real value here with the pixel 4a. I highly recommend the phone.

    Disappointing Phone With Many Issues

It was a great phone for a little bit and at a good price, but was inevitably plagued by issues with battery and charging. I brought it in to be fixed by the Google Authorized Repair place that they sent me to because I was a month out of the measly 1 year warranty and they said it would cost $500 to fix since everything is soldered to the motherboard. This is wild, because that is over $100 more than the price of the phone itself. Not getting any more Google phones ever again.

    Pixel 4a Review

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The new Google Pixel 4a is a newly released phone for people who are either tired of iPhones or previous android users who want to upgrade their phone. However, with a new phone it also has its disadvantages when purchasing, but that is with all the products we buy. The camera quality is worth the rave almost better than any new iPhone. Overall, I believe this investment is worth every penny, in terms of: service provider, camera quality, pricing, security and also battery longevity. I recently damaged my phone, and I’ve been eyeing this phone since the day it got out. And when getting this phone, the best way to go about it is heading over to your local phone provider, as having it delivered, it tends to cause some damage to its sensitive screen. Moreover, buying a screen protector and a case for the phone the day you purchase it is also recommended. With my old phone, the quality of the camera was not the best. So, when the Pixel 4a was released and they went crazy about its camera quality, it was a match made in heaven; I was automatically sold. I cannot have asked for better quality than the one built in the Pixel 4a. It’s like a high-priced camera built into one small device. It is also good for a business or those looking to launch any photo-related ideas that come to mind. And does a wonderful job of capturing memorable moments such as: weddings, family vacations, and night outings. In terms of pricing, it is affordable. You don’t have to pay the full price of the phone upfront for the 4a ($349), or the 5G model ($499); if you are not able to do so. If you can’t afford it right now, there is no need to fear as there are various ways to make a purchase. You have two options including a 0% APR Financing, which is basically the total price of the phone divided by the financing term in months; with no interest, however there will be a late fee if no payment is made. Or the 6/12 month Special Financing which is the required, monthly payments; you can expect zero interest if it is paid off or in full, within the promo period. The built-in security features allow you to go about your day worry free. For example, if you were to ever be involved in a car accident, the phone’s detection of distress will activate and automatically contact the proper authorities. With the custom-built Titan M security chip, make sure all your sensitive data is in good hands; and you can automatically receive the latest OS and security updates for at least three years (according to what I was told). That in itself is sure to give me peace of mind. However, the only down side is that it can be tricky when transferring your SIM card to the phone due to the fact it has no placement for it. Last but definitely not least, the battery life. Unlike the iPhone, that turns off at like 70 percent, the phone can last at least a day and a half by just a few hours’ worth of charging. At least for me, someone who is constantly on their phone and on the go, it doesn’t take rocket science for someone to connect the dots. However, there is a mental note you must have before achieving that goal; such as having the “Always on Display” mode (AOD) turned off. Other than that, you are sure to enjoy the phone to the fullest. To conclude, the Pixel 4a is a modern and advanced piece of technology all wrapped into one. The camera quality is sure to leave you coming back for more with its Instagram-worthy photos. You get more than your money’s worth. Such as built-in security features, an amazing camera, a longer battery life and affordable payment plans; just in case you cannot pay in full. So what are you waiting for, if you are looking for a phone that exceeds all your expectations, the Pixel 4a or its 5G model is the perfect phone you have been waiting for.

Unfortunately i had a very bad experience with this. I took a new unlocked mobile on April 13 2021. There was a delay in ordering new sim card and when my sim card arrived it was already more that 15 days. When i put my sim card , mobile did not detected the sim card and bestbuy rejected the exchange saying its already more than 15 days. When i took for repair center, they said it has a moisture. Not sure how new mobile can have moisture
