    Do not buy open box!

Bought this phone open box “excellent condition”. I just received the phone an hour ago and the phone won’t even turn on despite having been on the charger for an hour. The screen just keeps turning on and off with nothing but “Google” on the display. I highly doubt anyone at Best Buy ACTUALLY checked this device for issues before putting it back on the sales floor. Seriously disappointed with this purchase. Will be returning ASAP.

    Constant problems

Bluetooth connectivity issues, can't access screen while on the phone for number input or navigating phone and requires a hard restart to end call. I loved the Pixel 3xl but this is a bust and feels cheap. Camera is not as good and no support from Best Buy or Google. I was going to return this phone but it says my window has ended after 3 weeks even though I'm a Elite Plus member and thought I had 45 days with my purchases. Not happy with this at all.

Disappointed. YOu will be much happier buying a Samsung A51 or A71. Price is the same, more features, better screen and camera. Plus you get 5G.

A budget phone with a flagship camera

The Pixel 4a has some high-end features with a price well below the average midrange phone. However, there are a few things that I dislike. First, the highlights: CAMERA- The Pixel cameras are always known for being among the best camera phones, if not the best. It is great that you get this type of camera quality at this price point. I did many comparisons with my flagship phone and I can easily notice the difference. The Pixel takes great photos. If you are into the stars, I was able to capture some amazing shots with the ‘Nightsight with Astrophotography’ feature. SYSTEM UPDATES- Since Google owns Android, the Pixel should always be the first to get new updates and security patches for at least up to 3 years on the 4a. GOOGLE ASSISTANT- it has been updated with new features such as call screening to attempt to eliminate spam calls, a recorder, and live captioning. REAR FINGERPRINT- I love that they included this. I always preferred it over the under-screen fingerprint reader. Plus, it has the slide down feature so you can move your finger in a downward motion on the back sensor to bring down your options/notifications menu. There are some lowlights, but it could just be a personal preference that may not reflect your feelings: SCREEN SIZE- It is listed as 5.8 inches. That may be fine for most, but my other phone is 6.4 and it is hard for me to downsize after becoming used to a larger screen. LACK OF QUICK ACCESS- A few features that I always used on a previous phone were not found here. There is no option to double-tap to wake or sleep the phone. I always use this feature on a competitive phone so that I do not wear out the physical button. Also, I am not able to use a gesture to turn on the flashlight when the phone is locked. I realize you can download alternative launchers, but my review is for the main software include with the phone. NO FACE UNLOCK- Sometimes, you lay the phone on a table and want to unlock it without having to turn it over to use the fingerprint sensor. It isn’t a big deal, but it would be nice to do a quick tap of the screen and let the front camera scan your face to unlock without picking up the phone. Overall, I would still recommend this to anyone that is tired of paying close to $1000 for a phone. Especially if you just want a phone that takes top of the line photos, this is the one to get.

I really thought that I had found the phone of my dreams until I was standing in a verizion store getting my phone activated and all of my information transferred over did I realized that this phone I had saved for didn't have a SD slot. If I wanted to pay monthly for data I would have just bought an Iphone. No one wants to continue to trough money at a company monthly just because. You have bamboozled us. I should return this phone.

Quality Phone Works With Hearing Aids

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My Pixel 4a, which I use with Mint Mobil, has been reliable for nearly 4 years. I chose this phone because it is one of the few Android phone that work well with my Phonak hearing aids (Bluetooth connectivity to the Phonak app and to my computer and phone). It's a quality and reliable phone, and much cheaper than the other phone that support hearing aids. I also like the 5.8 in smaller size. So the phone was a "best buy" for me ! But after 4 years Google told me I need to replace the battery, which is expensive or very difficult, so sadly now I'm getting a new phone ... a Pixel 8a.

First phone broke in 4 days (went into "boot mode" and couldn't be fixed). 2nd one lasted 3 weeks (volume up and power button stopped working). Best Buy wouldn't take it back because it was over 14 days. Only option is to get it repaired by Google, sell my "new phone" to someone and take the loss because Best Buy has TERRIBLE customer service (and I'm an elite member w/a high credit limit Best Buy card).

Crashed after three months!! Nothing happened other than specs of water on the screen but that was so minimal im sure that wouldnt cause it to go berzerk and start talking to me every time i touch the screen instead of registering my touches, now it seems to be voicing the commands. Very strange and now completely unuseable, all for nearly $400!

The crack is very hard to notice, the phone need to be tilted in an angle to see it. I am told i'm over 15 day return/exchange period and best buy don't even repair screen for these phones yet. I have no option available.

NO ACCESSORIES in "Opened Box- excellent" so I returned it to the store. The box had literally nothing in it except the phone. The phone itself appeared to be free of dents/scratches, but as I didn't remove it from the box I can't say that with certainty.

This phone doesn't work with a screen protector, it makes the screen too touch sensitive. My screen broke since there was no protector on it. Also the screen wouldn't light up on calls, so I couldn't press numbers to select the option I wanted when calling businesses.

Total lack of operating information/guidance from store staff. Basically, a matter of "we will exchange the product for your money" and then we expect you to leave the store. The abysmal attitude in the store totally overides any thoughts about the product purchased ! Therefore, comments relate to service, or, rather, lack of !
