This phone overheat badly, I hope they resolve this issue in the future, it was returned immediately.

Very happy with the service and very pleased with the phone. I've owned it since 2021 and it has operated flawlessly. The staff at the store were pleasant to work with and they cheerfully set up the phone and transferred all of my stuff from my previous phone.

Screen stopped responding out of a blue after one week of use. Not usable anymore.

When I finally was able to get this phone, the feeling of the phone was perfect and it had a nice weight to it. Upon setting up the device, it did slow down a little bit due to the amount of apps I have. But when everything was all downloaded and good to go, it worked flawlessly without any issues. I switched to the pixel 4xl as my daily driver for about 10 months now and I love it but the only thing that I don't like about the 4xl is the battery is not that good, (for my type of usage) and since my storage is basically always full of me having to save files for school and other stuff. I have seen the phone lack in the performance department. I was hesitant that I would be downgrading on the chipset but I was wrong. I have 7 meetings in 4 hours and the phone managed to survive the workload and it did kill the battery within the last hour and a half but I was impressed. My pixel 4xl couldn't keep up and I would have to keep it plugged in to make sure it doesn't die. Now focusing on to the camera, it gives out good quality photos and I wouldn't be afraid to post them on social media. Most phones at this type of price normally lack on camera quality and that's why I love the pixel 4a. Now the screen. It has an OLED panel which is awesome since it really shows the contrast of a video or a photo really well. When it comes to gaming, I do start to notice a slight hiccup on the games I play but it runs great. The battery life is good as well even if I do 2 meetings and the rest on my laptop but I can get through the whole day without needing to charge the phone or worry if my phone is going to die quickly then I thought it was. Overall the best things about this phone is the battery life, screen, storage, and the camera. Its a great budget phone and daily phone if your just trying to stay on a budget.

Don’t buy this phone mine was defective In just one year

Had this phone for 3 years and 9 days!! It just stopped charging on July 24th this week!! I purchased it July 21, 2021. I have to admit I really got my money's worth out of it! If it would charge I's still be using it. It has been a great phone.

Awful. Cracked screen with a case on with less than a 2 foot drop.

6 months old and the touch screen has stopped working

An upgrade to last year's budget phone, Pixel 4a is the best affordable Android phone. This is my first Google Pixel phone. It comes with clean Android installation, seamless Google Assistant integration, and promised 3 year updates from Google. The design is very minimalistic although the plastic body feels somewhat cheap. The phone has a 5.8" OLED 1080 x 2340 resolution display, which is mediocre compared to other phones in this price range. There is a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back of the phone, which can take some time getting used to as it is not on the front of the phone or it could be just me. The rear 12.2MP camera takes amazing, high quality pictures easily. The Night Sight photos are the highlight of this phone. It takes multiple images and combines them into one brightened picture. The other best feature of the camera is the astrophotography mode, which takes the pictures of night sky and stars using long exposure. This can only be done by mounting the camera on a tripod. I found the battery to be just average and lasts about a day with moderate use. Playing games or with graphic heavy use, the battery drastically reduces. Although there is only one Nano SIM slot, you do have the option to use the eSIM for dual SIM support. Given this is a budget phone, I understand the no multiple lenses for the camera, but the missing features I feel should have been included are 5G, wireless charging. You get a 18W fast charger adapter and USB C cable in the box to charge the phone. If you want a simple and easy to use Android phone that has a good camera and decent features, this might be the best affordable Android phone.

Performance-wise, this phone is fantastic. At this price range, it is everything most users outside of heavy gamers would want out of a smartphone - stable and smooth performance, excellent camera, and even a great looking screen. This performs like a higher end (but not premium) phone, and I would wager that most phones cheaper than this price point will have noticeable performance drawbacks. However, there is one setback, and it's pretty major: the build quality. This has the build quality of a truly budget phone, even though it is in the "midrange" price point. After only one week of gentle use, mostly being in my pocket, the casing on mine already creaks when applying slight pressure. I don't see this phone lasting two years with standard wear and tear, and I doubt it could survive much more than light drops. However, if you don't want to break the bank and are okay with the flimsiness, this is the phone for you.

*Coming from a Pixel 2* I really like the lighter weight and most of the upgrades are great compared to my older phone, the only thing that I am still trying to get used to is the use of swipe gestures to navigate around. Rather than having a back button on screen I now have to swipe from the edge of the screen to go back and have already had some issues with the phone going back while playing a game and swiping on the screen. Other than the initial growing pains of getting used to the new features, I have really enjoyed the Pixel 4a and it's amazing features and huge hardware upgrades.

Bought this to replace a Moto G5+. Nice to be getting monthly updates and 3 years of them. Battery life good for web browsing, Pokemon Go, but I'm not much of a streamer. Device can get hot when it's hot outside, so be aware to keep it cool or take a break occasionally when it's hot to keep it from overheating. Camera is great, no complaints there.
