    Pixel Perfect

Charges fast, perfect in the hand from its size, have always loved the rear fingerprint security phones and for mid-level specs its smooth and fast enough. I'm a Google Fi subscriber so this phone is PERFECT! If you want to hear about the camera or comparisons for other hardware then check out YouTube. If you want a great phone you can easily use with one hand at an awesome price I suggest you purchase this small package and its got the TITAN M chip which you won't find in the new S20 FE 5G or the SAMSUNGS Secure Element chip that comes in all the other S20 line up. That's right; the S20FE is not as secure as the other S20's. If you want this battery to last more than a day with medium use, just restrict all background battery usage for most apps. Started charging today at 36%, last full charge was 20 hours ago, and have had 3 hours 57 minutes of SOT or Screen On Time.

Great upgrade at a great price

I traded in a Samsung Galaxy S8 for the new Pixel 4a and couldn't be happier with the decision. Honestly, these phones are mostly a like for like exchange other than I lost wireless charging feature and screen brightness isn't quite as good with Pixel. However, I gained a bunch of benefits with this upgrade. Price was great and I got nearly one hundred tradein for the GS8 so even better. Second, this device is managed by Google, not my carrier. Can't stress enough how important that is these days... my carrier was taking months... months to push out security updates for Android on my GS8, that's just criminal! This phone kept 3.5m port which is going away on most other new phones. Also, Google managed means no additional carrier bloatware installed on the Pixel. So while this phone is in the budget category, if you have a 2-4 yr old Android smartphone, this unit will match up very favorably and be running fresh Android version with fresh battery life for minimal investment.

Pixel 4a blows Samsung phone away

Goodbye Samsung S5 - Hello Pixel 4a!!! What a great replacement cellphone this has been. Yeah, kept the old phone for over 6 years and the 16GB of storage was regularly leading to "out of space" messages for updates. The 128 GB of the Pixel will get me through the next 6 years. There is nothing I miss from the old Samsung, nothing I cannot do with the Pixel and other than a few slightly different gestures to get to different places on the phone, it's been great. The store associate who spent a great deal of time transferring all my stuff over was great. There was an issue with moving the text history because I had so many (7,500) but I was able to use SMS Backup & Restore to move all text history over the next day with ease. This phone should outsell the flagships because it performs that well. OK, it doesn't have wireless recharging, but I've never had that anyway. Hard to miss what you ain't got. :-)

Not great since the last update

As a preface, I am NOT the easiest on phones. That being said, I have had to replace my 4a on three separate occasions now. The first time I replaced my 4a, a new crack intersected with an old crack and all the Pixels in my screen died. I could have just gotten the screen replace but it was cheaper (and easier) to just have a whole new phone sent to me. The second time I had to get it replaced, I was at work with my phone in my pocket when someone dumped three glasses of water all down my front and my phone got wet. I went through the normal procedures to remove the water from my phone but to no avail and I had to get it replaced again. This last replacement is not my fault, however. I randomly get the "liquid or debris in USB port" on a fairly regular basis since the latest update. I clean the port out and there is no debris (no exposure to liquids since the previous incident so that is not an issue) that does not go away. I have tried everything on Google's help webpage and nothing works. At this point, I'm attributing this issue (I have found that others are running into the same problem) to the most recent update. To be fair, this is two generations behind the most recent Google Pixel and I've noticed a lot of phones only have a lifespan of about 2 generations. Biggest takeaways: -Pros: The interface is super easy and convenient to use. The camera quality is fantastic as is the sound quality. If you like staying out of the Android vs Apple debate, most Apple users think you have an iPhone because of it's sleek and minimalist body and most Android users recognize their kin. It also makes for a good segue if you're trying to switch from Apple to Android and vice versa. -Cons: I would not recommend buying this phone for daily use since it is running into technical issues and, while you will still be able to get updates for a few years, it likely won't hold up that long. THIS IS NOT THE PHONE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE HARD ON TECHNOLOGY!! This phone is VERY fragile. Any water/liquid, debris, or physical damage will almost always render this phone useless. If you are looking to get a Google Pixel for your everyday/personal phone, I would recommend upgrading to a Pixel 6 model. The lifespan will be much longer than these. I do love Google Pixels and I think they are the best of all worlds right now. Just not this one.

Best phone I ever owned. Loved the smaller size and all the functionality packed in. Unfortunately I left it in my pants and ran it through the washer. I would buy it again if it was available.

Works really well, and price is worth it. The only issue is the battery. After a while the battery will die after only 3-4 hours of use.

Highly recommend the pixel 4a. By way, the battery is just fine and charges really fast. I don't know anyone who will requires more than this phone has to offer. If you require more I recommend a new laptop because this phone offers all you need in a phone for multi use.

I've never written a review but had to on this ... best mobile phone I have ever had and I am really picky about technology purchases like this. I've always had Samsung or LG phones and now I'm a Pixel convert for good. It does everything really well . The simple form factor is easy to hold and navigate with one hand; in my opinion less is more (this phone is super light which i really like). Google has hit a home run with this phone -- it covers all the important angles. The stereo speakers are amazing. Why pay $700+ for the supposed upper tier phones. This does it all for $350 -- incredible value. Hats off to Google.

Great and Easy to Use Phone

Bought and gave it to my elderly dad who needed a new phone after his old flip phone died. After about a month of usage, my dad (who never used a smartphone before) is completely in love with the phone. He found it very easy and intuitive to use and appreciated the simple UI along with lack of bloatware. It may not be a phone with top end specs, but it perfectly fulfilled his basic needs of occassionally surfing the internet, doing phone calls, texting, taking pictures, etc. It was truly a great adjustment for someone who never used a smartphone before.

I've been buying Google phones for years from the Google Store and they always take at least a week to arrive. When my wife's Pixel XL phone bricked this morning I looked at the Bestbuy store, The Pixel 4a was in stock and their staff were very helpful, reminding me to get a new case too (something I normally forget to do). So four hours later everything on the phone has been restore - no data lost at all and my wife is talking to everyone - we are all very happy. Bestbuy fixed the problem so fast!

There are not many smaller-form phones still available. This one works well, was reasonably priced, and supports Android 12. The transfer of data from my old Moto E4 was well supported by the included transfer cable and the Android software.

    Not thrilled

I am very disappointed in my new Pixel 4A. The hardware appears to be fine but the Google Apps are very deficient which is surprising since Google is a leader in technology. I understand there is a learning curve but the apps seem almost archaic. Messages, I want a repeating notification since I am not tethered to my phone all the time. If a message notifies once I may not hear it and have no idea there is a message unless I repeatedly, physically, check the phone. To get around this inconvenience I switched to Textra for messaging. Calendar, same thing, I have reminders that I want to occur every day. It only notifies once. I switched to the ToDo app to get what I needed. Voice mail. There is no voice mail icon or notification to alert you that you have a voice mail unless you specifically look at the phone app and see a small number on the voice mail. I did get an error message and a specific code which refers me too support, and I intend to call. I've received three messages from Google providing me with a verification code. I have no idea what the codes are for. Overall I find it very inconvenient to constantly have to pick up the phone and check the activity. I am in the process of checking the restocking fee since I purchased the phone at Best Buy. Depending on the cost I will be returning the phone and purchasing a Samsung.
