Took the leap from iphone to android with this gem of a smartphone. I'm pretty sure I have not unlocked the full potential of this phone but it is an absolute steal at the sub-$300 price I paid. Major pros from a week of usage: great size and screen ratio, the phone is reliable and sturdy, excellent display for everyday purposes, camera is phenomenal, fully customizable OS with a ton of options for games and apps, ample internal storage after downloading hundreds of apps, the battery has held up well thus far, and the integration with Google and windows is second to none. Now for the not so stellar: the speakers are awful and that is putting it kindly, be prepared to invest in a decent sound booster, the fingerprint scan is not as reliable anything on Apple, the video is OK but it's definitely not top notch, and the play store has limitations compared to Samsung's factory apps. Invest in a screen protector because this phone is very glossy and slippery meaning it will fall out of your pocket a lot. Did not test android auto as google did not include a usb a to usb c cable. Bummer... But that's the future.

Great phone! This is my third Pixel phone. Google does monthly security updates and regular OS update from Google. You don't have to wait for your carrier to update. OS is not loaded down with un-necessary bloatware. The camera is one of the best you can get in a mobile phone. Purchased the 4G only version. Verizon won't have 5G in my area for at least another year and longer for 5G ultra-wide.

I've been using this phone for about a year now, and it is fantastic. I am particularly impressed with the camera. The picture resolution is just amazing for a cell phone. Updates have been easy and seamless, never a problem with any apps. Would highly recommend this phone.

Bought this to escape the Samsung/Apple competition for most expensive mediocrity. Got it unlocked to avoid carriers' adding all their redundant software. Google still has its hands in your phone, but it's still a high quality device for a single price, as opposed to the contracts and perpetuations of carrier-provided phones. In terms of the device itself, it's great, sleek, almost the same size as my Galaxy S8. It is fast and has full access to the google play so I didn't lose anything when I changed to this phone. There is also a very easy data and app transfer system, so I was ready to go with this phone very quickly after purchase. The only real complaint of the device is its unwavering attempts to learn my behavior. I just don't really like that I know there is pattern-learning going on in the phone, but the alternative would be to buy a phone without internet capabilities, and I haven't gone that paranoid yet. Overall, it's fast, the features are standard, and the price is great for unlocked phones. I looked at a number of other competitor phones specifically that are unlocked, and the screen resolution and available apps solidified this purchase for me. Most other unlocked phones I saw had a maximum 720 resolution or higher resolution with smaller screens. This phone size is ideal for general use. If you like watching videos or gaming, this will also handle that without issue.

This phone is great value for the price. I am coming from a Samsung Galaxy S20, and I don't even miss it. I love the camera, and the Android experience is refreshingly simple compared to Samsung's option-riddled version. I do wish that the Pixel 4a had an SD card slot. I like to have all of my music on a card, rather than a subset of my music taking up phone space. But it's not a huge problem.

Great phone! Lives up to expectations. Excellent Android experience. Although technically not fastest processor, not something most people would notice in day to day use. Would have liked expandable storage, IP67 rating, telephoto lens, but ultimately decided this phone has more pros than cons, and just $349. I've had it for a few weeks, and so far very happy with purchase.
