Coming from previous nexus/pixel phones, I knew what to expect going into a Pixel 4a. The software and hardware compliment each other perfectly. The screen is very nice in all ways - colors, brightness, bezel, contrast. Buttons are nice and clicky and the phone doesn't feel cheap. 0 performance issues, excellent purchase,

Very good value for the price. Only thing that is unfortunate about my purchase is that I had them apply the screen protector in-store and a couple of the edges don't quite adhere to the screen properly. I'm also not really a fan of the design in Android 11 but I'll fix that soon by installing another ROM.

Purchased open box - excellent and am more than happy with what I received. Everything like new, and all return and warranty policies included made me feel extra comfortable. Overall the phone has been great for me in the two weeks I've had it. But hit the web for better reviews on the phone if you want a good breakdown.

I like this phone - how it feels in hand, the layout, the integration, the camera, etc. However, the hardware is terrible. In the seven months I've owned it I've had to take in for repairs three times. Sure, it's still under warranty, but I should not have to get the charging port changed out, or the screen fixed, or whatever is wrong with it now where it won't recognize my sim card (it is likely that the repair shop messed something up while fixing the screen). It feels like I got a lemon. I had a Samsung S8 before this and while I like the interface of the Pixel better, I had the Samsung for years without a problem. I don't think the cheap price or functionality is worth it at this point.

Great phone would recommend them to someone that's trying to save money. It's not special phone like with new features or anything it's just a good phone if you want to save money but this phone if you don't then you know you have your options. Would have preferred if they had different colors oh well still a good phone

I hate Google the company, but unfortunately they make the best hardware for replacing with custom ROMs. I put GrapheneOS on the phone and it works perfectly ... or at least as good as you can get without any Google apps.

The Pixel 4a is just okay. I bought it because it was a good price. However, I'm used to Samsung phones and I find this phone not as simple as I thought it was going to be and not as intuitive.

Having used a $80-dollar BLU android phone for a bit between a Samsung and this Pixel 4a, I was expecting a bit more from the $350 Pixel. I mean - the phone does the job, but there are three major frustrations: 1. the fingerprint sensor routinely says it is dirty and I need to unlock my phone using the PIN, even though I have just cleaned the sensor with alcohol (100-proof vodka on a cotton ball) 2. The selfie camera is a joke. I am not into selfies...if I were, I'd be returning the phone. 3. one reason I went for the Pixel 4a is I didn't want a big phone. But...the Pixel 4a is small in the wrong way - it is narrow and long, so not convenient to hold. The proportions of my cheap Chinese phone fit much better in my hand - a bit wider and shorter. I know that a much narrower and smaller phone can fit ergonomically in one's hand - but in order to do that, it can't be shaped like a parallelepiped.

Google's Customer Service is Impressively Bad

I bought this phone, because I didn't want to spend a premium price for a premium phone. I just wanted something that would have a good build quality even if I did not get all the bells and whistles. I have only heard great things about good phones. This phone never really charged properly. The cable that came with it did not change the machine at all. I bought a better cable from monoprice, which seemed to charge the phone just fine. The charging just got worse and worse. At 6 mo. I decided to contact google about the phone. This is where my decision to never buy a google product began. Google has impressively horrible customer services. I am used to dealing with Amazon, Motorola, LG, and Samsung. I cannot restate how bad a major company like google's customer service is. They try to push you to make a claim through their phone (which is hard if your phone is not working). It took me a little while to figured out how to navigate their website to make a claim, they insist on calling you (not the other way around). Once they called me, I got disconnected halfway through the call. They never called you back. I was left wondering if I needed to resubmit the claim, which on their website they claim you cannot, and I should wait for them to recontact me. After a few weeks I resubmit a new claim, but had to make up another issue to get someone on the phone. They did eventually agree to send me a new phone. I was adamant that I wanted a NEW phone. Not a refurbished . These phones come with small batteries. I knew this when I bought the phone. I thought I was sacrificing battery size (which is a major cost to manufacture) for build quality. I was not going to trade my 6 mo old battery for an older one that has a new shiny screen. They lied to me and sent a refurbished model. I could tell that the screen was replaced. It still had glue around the edge and their was a dark spot where someone careless put too much pressure when adhering the screen. I didn't care at that moment. I just wanted my phone back. That phone lasted two day before the screen when completely out. I was back and forth with Google while using my old Motorola. Finally I got someone on from Google to guarantee I would get a NEW Pixel 4a. That was about 8 mo ago and the phone seems to been fine still. Maybe google does make good phones, but if you get a bad one, google has horrible customer service. I cannot recommend a google product to anyone until their customer service improves drastically.

I've had quite a few Pixel phones and so am very familiar with them. Usually you have to pay a premium for a Pixel phone but not so with the 4a. At $350 it's a great price for a Pixel phone that isn't loaded with extra junk software and also one that you know Google will support for awhile with software updates.

I have always been content using samsung galaxy cell phone, but this time, after doing my research, I decided to try the google pixel 4. I am still learning all the tricks and features that my pixel has to offer, it's kinda a cross between the apple and android operating systes. With plenty of memory to make me happy.
