    Google phones keep getting better

I have always purchased Google phones, from the original Nexus all the way up to the Pixel 4. These phones have been reliable and durable for core phone/messaging features, augmented and virtual reality applications and control of my drones. The Pixel line has been amazing to use, never seems to slow down when I am running a lot of apps, and has really good battery life.

I was so excited to get this phone, but it has been fairly disappointing. The camera is excellent, but beyond that, I'm not impressed. Battery life is hit and miss, although charging is fairly quick, on the native charger. It overheats and gets hot fast and a lot. If I'm sitting outside and it's hot, I have to take the case off and even then it's hot in my hands. It restarts very easily and I frequently pick it up and it tells me I need to use my pin to log in after a restart, when I didn't even k iw it restarted. It has even restarted multiple times while I was looking at a page. I often have to load pages twice; It goes slow and won't load, but if I swipe back and then load the page, it will open as it should. Same thing for pictures and comments on Facebook, many times they won't open or let me see them. This will happen when I have 4-5 bars of service and even on wifi. I'm considering contacting Google and see if there's anything that can be done, because I've only had it since December and these issues have been happening for several months already.

Cannot beat this phone for the price. Some negative reviews are the plastic build, uh, don't most people put a case on it anyway? I have many chargers, so I do not need wireless charging. The price and ability to shut off 5G until it becomes more widely available is great. Nice screen size, battery for a day and a half, two if I milk it. Excellent device fo' sho'

Great replacement for my 3xl that died on me. Nearly the same size as my old 3xl but slightly narrower which makes it easier to hold and use one handed. I do miss wireless charging, but the smaller 5 just didn't seem like the right fit. Wish Google has made a 5xl. Here's hoping they eventually do!.

This is the best Google Phone available this year. This phone strikes the perfect balance between price and performance. While it may not have features like wireless charging or an IP rating, it still has all of the performance of the Pixel 5 with a price tag that is $200 less.

I recently purchased the Pixel 4a (non-5G) for myself but got the 4a 5G for my wife who was coming from the Pixel 2 XL. She likes the larger phone and after I received my 4a I knew she would not be happy with it. I think you really need to see and hold these phones instead of just reading what the diagonal size is. We tried a larger Samsung phone recently, but once you get used to Pixel-only features like call screening it's hard to give it up. The rear fingerprint unlock is also great, and the time-to-unlock is almost immediate. The 4a 5g is about $150 more than the 4a, and I think for that increase they could have also included wireless charging. That's my only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars.

My Pixel 2xl was dying and the 4XL was hard to find. So I researched the 4a 5g Pixel to find that there was a very small difference in size. So far I have been impressed by it's performance and it was lower priced than the other available Pixels.

The cameras on this phone are on the high end for smartphones competing with Samsung and iPhones. The battery lasts up to 2 -3 days with moderate use on a single charge. The unfortunate wireless charging keeps it away from high-end phones but rapid charging through type-c makes up for it.

The Pixel phone are good value for what they are. You're not getting the best OLED panels or the best processors, but the phone does the job. There is a slight color shift when viewing the panel at an angle, but it's not a bid deal. The performance is more than enough for social media, viewing maps, etc. The pictures that the camera takes are great due to Google's computational photography. I was much more comfortable getting a midrange device from Google than getting a midrange device from a lesser known Chinese company. I know that I will be getting updates from Google for years to come with my device. The plastic back is great since it means I don't need a case.

I normally go after the flagship phones, but this time I was just looking for something low cost because I don't do much with my phones as I used to (try different ROMs, etc). Plus, I wanted something that will last based on updates. One minor negative are the buttons' build quality, but I wouldn't sway away from the phone because I would expect minor build choices like that for such an inexpensive phone (compared to flagships). I'm not a heavy phone user anymore, but a full charge will last well over 24 hrs, so I charge while I'm getting ready for work and I'm good for the rest of the day and repeat the cycle; I'm not having to charge to 100% to get a full day out of it... Currently, I'm at 64% battery left and it's estimating that I will get 1 day and 6 hours out of it.

Imari was our customer sales representive for this purchase. She made the purchase and set up a wonderful experience. Kudo's to her. Having had many google nexus and pixel phones, the experience on this phone is everything you would expect; but upgraded :) My battery experience is rounding out to be about 60-70% left by the end of the day. Their improvement continues to get better considering it's battery size. Display is exceptional although it doesn't seem to get as bright as previous google phones (still readable in the day light). I needed to get a 'hefty' phone case though to give me / it some weight. The phone is so light. Awesome phone that doesn't come with all of that awful bloatware. Very pleased and happy with this purchase, would recommend purchasing this phone.

I had the 3a XL before this model. I mention this up front because I am not ignorant that there is bias based on past experience. If you are a fan of earlier google phones, this one works in a very similar way. I do not like that they removed the "Go Back" tap that used to be on the bottom (it has now become a swipe function on the right side of the screen). Outside of that, it is great. Unlike many of the competitor phones, this one still has a sound jack, which is useful if you want to use an older speaker, headphones, or car AUX port. One aspect that I would really like to point out is that the camera is great for those that want to take pics or videos of moving objects or in poor lighting. That said, for users that use one of the other two major lines of phones, do realize there is a bit of a learning curve. This phone can and will run multiple applications at the same time. You will need to get used the swipe functions to switch apps and such.

    AFFORDABLE PHONE WITH FLAGSHIP CAMERA

An affordable phone with a flagship camera. Worth it for those who don't necessarily need top of the line tech like 90hz refresh, waterproofing, an extremely fast chip, or wireless charging. A good value for those who prioritize battery life, picture quality, and their own wallets.

my wife loves her new phone. Camera takes amazing photos and the speed of the phone is ridiclious compared to her old samsung. Highly recommend and will be considering google pixel phones in the future. Phone construction is top notch. feels like a high end flag ship device.

We upgraded our phone to this google 4a 5G unlocked. The phone is fast. It feels good in your hand. It is not loaded with a bunch of junk. We use it on xfinity wireless. The battery does last all day. If there is a down side there are not a ton of cases to choose from.

This phone is everything I thought it would be and more the camera is fantastic, the software is up to date, and love the aesthetics just in general. The 5G capability is a lot of fun too, definitely a phone with all the bells and whistles without paying the premium.

Bought this for my wife, who is technology disadvantaged. Please don't tell her I said that, but she would agree. She wanted a new phone with a really good camera l. This phone fit the ticket. The price was right, as it was on sale, and the quality is superb.

Fast and snappy. Never felt like I am using a midrange phone. Camera is just Awesome. While flagships can compete in day light photography ( might still loose), low light photography is well ahead of its competition. Software is clean and intelligent.
