A definite step down from earlier Pixels

I bought this to replace a Pixel 3 that had a cracked screen and was starting to approach the end of it's life. Overall, I am very disappointed. Pros: Camera and photo editing features are very impressive, definitely better than the Pixel 3. Cons: Battery takes FOREVER to charge and does not last nearly as long as the Pixel 3, even while on battery saver Buggy, phone based volume control doesn't work when blue tooth headphones are plugged in. I need to disconnect bluetooth and start over to get the volume to change. Charging sometimes doesn't work for no reason. I once had my phone plugged in almost an hour before it started accepting charge at all. Keep in mind I've only had this phone for 3 weeks and I haven't dropped or damaged it at all. Finger print scanner does not work as well as it did on the Pixel 3. Maybe it's me, but I find the gestures on this phone much less intuitive. This is a personal preference, but it is larger, heavier, and overall more unwieldy than the Pixel 3. Front camera could be better. If the phone is this buggy this early on I can only imagine how bad it will be as time goes on. I'm going to try to see if I can return or replace with Google Warranty since I am outside of BestBuy's window. If you're in the market for a new phone I'd go with something else.

    Probably the smartest smartphone

For context, I'm coming from a OnePlus 9. The Pixel 6 has better battery life and the phone is just as responsive as my last. The dictation feature is an incredible upgrade and it's well worth getting this phone if you dictate frequently. I was worried about the battery life because reviewers were saying it's underwhelming but I don't know what they're talking about. It has excellent battery life. I'm not worried about charging because I'm using the charger brick that came with my Pixel 5 and it's working well. Android 12 is a good experience coming from oxygen OS and I think you'll enjoy it if you have any toes dipped in the Google ecosystem. This phone feels like the smartest smartphone because of its smart features like hold for me and assistive menus when calling businesses. Also, I can select text from any screen at any time. The AI is very impressive. It is a really solid phone and I don't think you will be disappointed.

I had the Google pixel 2, then skipped back to Samsung. The Google pixel 6 is remarkable. Everything transferred easily and quickly. The camera is great. The phone is intuitive!

Legitimately disappointing phone for the price. Fingerprint scanner barely functions, software is buggier than it should be, is slightly too large. This product is a top tier camera with a below par phone attached to it.

Pixel 6 is good but not groundbreaking !

Picked up this one recently. Went with the regular 6 as i am tired on curved screens and the price point is just right. Everything runs smoothly and setup was a breeze and i was up and running within half hour. Battery life has been up and down however that's to be expected as the adaptive battery still learns usage patterns so far averaging about 5 hrs OST. Cameras are okay i have the Pixel 4XL as well and didn't find anything groundbreaking and extraordinary with the new camera system. I actually found that the Pixel 6 camera tends to over sharpen in some instances guessing this gets fixed soon. The one big issue i have faced is the front facing camera and video chats while using either Whatsapp or Duo or Microsoft teams the video is hazy and the camera seems to reduce the camera resolution where it looks worse than a 2016 web cam. I am not sure if its a software issue as this works flawlessly on my Pixel 4XL running Android 12. This could be a deal breaker if it lands up being a hardware issue. Will have to use the phone for a longer period to see if any other issues pop up for now coming from a Pixel 4XL i think the Pixel 6 is a not a big upgrade and the front facing camera issue is definitely a bummer.

Decent phone - screen brightness outside is not the best. A little bulky, 5 hrs screenon time is decent. Voice to text is great. Camera overprocesses images.

Don't buy any Pixel 6 variants network issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Never buy any Pixel 6 variant they have numerous network issues that are not that uncommon. Many people will never have them and know people without them but a large amount much higher than other higher end phones don't have issues nearly this widespread. I've had 2 with the same issue only resolution I'm offered is another RMA and others have had 3-5 replacements all with the issues. Just Google Pixel 6 network issues. They had known since 2021 about it yet have claimed since then the next update will fix it.. All they offer is a RMA in which you likely get another phone with the same issue like me. They will verbally tell you they escalated the case and verbally tell you it got denied with no email confirmation or number so you have to just take their word for it. Many people will have the Pixel 6 and know people without the issue but many like myself do and it loses connection every single day dozens of times a day and a $50 UMX phone with the same sim cards doesn't. I've done every possible troubleshooting method 6 total sim cards 3 ATT and 3 T-Mobile all had this issue. Support is useless and many people go through 3-5 RMA's all with the issue and still no fix. Its an issue with the modem inside of it or however they designed the phone and manufactured it. It's got the Exynos 5123 chip which even at the time of release was a bad and dated chip with lots of issues. I miss extremely important Doctor calls and will have no service for up to 20 minutes at a time dozens of times a day and then get spammed with notifications when it comes back. The top 100 or so search results of troubleshooting network issues I've tried and went way beyond that. I'm manually went into debugging mode to mess with the bands I flashed different versions of android 12 and 13 along with 14 beta. There is nothing I have not tried and Google simply isn't helping. Phone should have been voluntarily recalled off the shelves and then fixed but that would cost too much for them even being owned by the 4th biggest company in the world. A phone is supposed to be able to make and receive calls and both Pixel 6's I've had including a RMA one supposedly tested by the best engineers have the exact same issue.

    I love my pixel 6

The pixel 6 is a great improvement over pixel 5. The battery lasts longer. The text is larger (I am old) so it is easier to read. It responds faster to taps. I like that I was able to copy most of my apps and files from the pixel 5 to the pixel 6 by connecting both by the charger cord. It made setting up my new phone much easier.

Its honestly a pretty average phone. I wanted to love it but theres nothing special here. The feel of it in your hands is very nice, the screen is really good, and it works quite well. The battery life is... alright... but the worst part about that is that 100-99% battery is like 2 hours and 10%-2% is like 30 minutes. The percantages seem to be skewed a bit, and it has a lot of problems with wifi speed and data speed, those are allegeldy supposed to be fixed soon tho. I don't know what everyone is raving about on the camera... Its mediocre at best.

Very happy with my new Google Pixel 6. Easy to use, great screen response time, and lots of storage. I bought it for the photos and I'm looking forward to doing more with the camera. I really appreciate that buying it from Best Buy meant receiving it within a couple of days!

I purchased the pixel 6 128G for Christmas. I look for a good camera and the pixel 6 does have a good camera. I am still learning how to use it. I was disappointed with the magic eraser. I tried erasing a pen from a photo and it left a dark color spot where the pen was. Another time, I took ac photo of some items on my dining table. There was an empty bowl on the table that I wanted to remove and when I did it, part of the table got deformed. Maybe I need practice or learn how to
