This is my last flagship phone of any brand!!!

Last pixel I'm buying!! This is the second top pixel I have had go bad shortly after the one year warranty was up! The first was a Pixel 3 pro it's battery swelled and blew the back off the phone I replaced the battery myself it lasted about 6 months before ot happened again! this Pixel 6 Pro the screen started to flash green then it was blank 90% of the time, Google os aware of these issues but do nothing about it!!! If they cared to keep it's followers they would do right by the customer and replace the phone even after the warranty when it's something common failing in most of the phones. Im done with these flagship phones of any brand! I'm not paying $1000 for something that's going to self destruct after a year!!!

The camera is good and the phone is fast, but it is very glitchy. And it randomly looses service, but my husband's phone won't and we are on the same network. I regret upgrading to this phone.

Dear fingerprint scanner, can I please get in!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The phone is good to great. The fingerprint scanner overshadows the whole deal for me however. It is the most used thing on the phone and it is horrible. I understand it takes longer "for security purposes" but more than half of the time is doesn't recognize my fingerprint or only registers as a partial. Any dirt or excess moisture on my fingerprint renders my fingerprint unrecognizable...it seems sometimes if my skin is too dry it does not recognize it. So I am left with staring at my phone for 30 seconds trying to tell my phone that its really me...such a colossal waste of time and energy. I'm about to just turn off the scanner and resort to the pin only but i hear there is an update that might save the day. My pixel 2 scanner worked great...three plus years of technological improvements resulted this crap...on the other hand the security is great because nobody can unlock it without the pin, including me. I will follow up if the magic update helps. Why do we need an update Google...did you think it worked well when you sent this out? Try real world testing with people that might actually get dirt on their hands.

Absolute Disaster. THREE straight defective phones

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

How's this for irony: I watched FedEx pick-up my SECOND-straight defective Pixel 6 Pro while I was stuck on a Support Chat trying to fix my THIRD-straight defective Pixel 6 Pro. The first one failed after two months. Wouldn’t connect to the Internet. And the fingerprint login failed about 80% of the time. The second one failed after six weeks. Bluetooth Media audio failed. I could make phone calls with Bluetooth, and I could CONNECT to media with Bluetooth --- but could get NO volume from media audio. The third one failed after FOUR DAYS. Same problem as the second one. I’ve now wasted roughly half a day on phone and chat with Google — and still don’t have a fully-functioning phone. And to think the 6-Pro cost me TWICE what I paid for the Pixel 2 XL — which never gave me problems, until the very end. SERIOUSLY GOOGLE: Get your act together!

pixels used to be good, now a complete failure

Worst phone of all time. I had the Pixel, Pixel 3, and loved them both. Got this Pixel 6 Pro and have had nothing but problems. I won't list everything but I will repeat what Google Support told me to do to fix the issues (including overheating): - don't have a case on your phone - don't have a screen protector on your phone - don't use a lot of data - don't have 3rd party apps installed - don't put your phone in a pocket or inside of anything Ummm... ok those are all pretty much ESSENTIALS and are non-negotiable with any phone or device that costs almost a grand. What have they created if I can't use apps, use my unlimited data, or have a case on my phone? Ridiculous. DO NOT BUY

    Crap Defective Hardware

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

your pixel phones are complete garbage and will be the last google phone we ever buy. My wife is now going on her second phone that is warranted through google since its a hardware issue. The fact its warranted doesnt replace the time we have on dealing with the diagnosing of the issues (hard resetting the phone after trail and error) and then dealing with the warrantee claim that google makes it seem more the costumer's issue then there's. FYI for warrentee claims you also have to agree to them reviewing your data and searches which is to me a huge invasion of privacy and they really have a hard time sending the replacement device prior to them getting there crap phone back... Had window phones and Samsung phones. I dropped the $60 windows phone 50 plus feet and still worked and had no issues with the note9 for over 3 years. These phones make me want to buy a apple phone and i am hugely against apple...

Google does not stand behind its phones!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased a Google Pixel 3XL new and it was working fine for just over 2 years until one morning the screen would not come on and the phone would not start up. There was nothing wrong with the phone before this, I kept it up-to-date, the battery life was still good, no cracks on the screen -- I actually liked this phone **BUT I WILL NEVER BUY A GOOGLE PHONE AGAIN** because the they do not stand behind their products. It is not entirely clear what caused the 3XL to brick itself: it could be due to a security update over night that had a flaw and left the phone unbootable, or it could be, as Google says "This issue occurred due to the natural lifecycle of a memory component. Memory components have a predefined lifecycle based on consumer use cases over time." https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/192008282 See also: https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2021/09/reports-of-pixel-3s-bricking-with-edl-message-are-growing/ https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/09/23/google-now-reportedly-replacing-pixel-3-3-xl-units-bricked-with-edl-mode/ https://www.trustedreviews.com/news/pixel-3s-are-bricking-according-to-users-4161758 https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/pfn10a/pixel_3_and_3_xl_phones_are_getting_stuck_in_edl/ Are you kidding me?! -- the memory chips used in this phone failed after just over 2 years (and I am really not a heavy phone user). I have had several smart phones over the years and I try to keep them 3-4 years before upgrading and _all of my old phones_, from _other_ phone makers, are STILL OPERATIONAL! Only Google, so far, as been able to make a phone that failed after just over 2 years and because it is now out of warranty they will not cover it. I can't even get trade in value for it because GOOGLE BRICKED IT! NO NOT BUY GOOGLE PHONES! THEY ARE POORLY MADE AND POORLY SUPPORTED, IMHO. I bought a Samsung S21 FE from Best Buy and I am so far very happy with it. I have had 2 Samsung phones before and they are STILL WORKING. I use my Samsung Tab S2 everyday (5 or 6 years old?) Google devices fail after just over 2 years due to bad memory chips (according to Google - see link above).

    Disappointing customer service

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Phone is good, but the camera isn't as good as my girlfriend's iphone. I also had the screen crack in my pocket with a case on it and no contact with anything that I am aware of. it is now going to cost $300 to replace (and I have to send it in or go to a non Google repair place). If this was an iPhone it would be covered under apple care and be much cheaper. Kind of considering switching back to apple for my next phone just for the customer service. I have been on Google since the pixel 2xl and never had an issue, but now that I have I'm super disappointed with how difficult and expensive it has been to get fixed.

    Absolute garbage.

Worst flagship phone I've ever bought. With the new Pixel 7 coming, one would thing that the bugs had been worked out of the 6 pro. Not true. I drive a lot for a living. I'm an estimator. So I use my phone heavily during my time on the road. I spend 3 to 7 hours a day in a car. I take a lot of phone calls through my hands free and use GPS. I have a personal rule to not touch the phone while in motion. This is impossible with this phone. Quite often the GPS through Google maps bugs out. It will eliminate parts of the screen, minimize and only show a quarter of the app - or simply not function. The only fix is to force close the app, find the destination again, and restart the journey. I'm usually sharing my location with the next appointment - so breaks the follow me link that has been sent to the client. Quite often the phone gets sluggish and choppy when handling bigger apps. I use both sims and the phone has a hard time with data when both are activated. I've had this phone for 40 days. Hardly anything is installed on it. It feels like I'm using a phone from 2010 with the amount of glitches and crashing that happens. I have the Pixel 5 and 4. Both were better than this. I also came from the One Plus 8Pro right before this. Huge downgrade from another flagship phone that is nearly 2 years old. Battery life is also a big problem.

    Flagship phone plauged by issues

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This phone is marketed as a flagship phone yet it is plauged by network issues that nearly cripple the device. Let alon this phone uses both a modem and chipset that are massive battery drains and have terrible power management. The modem struggles when it connects to 5G to the point where youre without service more often then not. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this phone, stay far away. The five star reviews in this site are highly misleading and downright are not correct. All of what is stated here is verifiable by tests that have been done on the device
