Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the Pixel 6a 128GB (Unlocked)'s camera quality, battery life, ease of use, and its price point. Many appreciate the phone's size and performance, while some find the lack of wireless charging and the tendency for the device to get warm to be drawbacks. The absence of a headphone jack and the standard refresh rate were also noted as missing features by some users. Overall, positive feedback on core functionalities outweighs concerns about missing features for most customers.

The hardware is awesome, the issue is that the 5G and other functions only work US carriers or with carriers in countries where Google sells it directly.

The Pixel 6a for far is a good phone but finger print sensor is complete garbage. After retrying to set it up multiple times it never functioned properly. Had to switch to pattern to open.

5 stars for the one sale price. I would say 4 stars at full price. Not a fan of the on screen fingerprint scanner compared to the old pixels on the back of the device. Although it works better than I anticipated.

Well, I purchased it with pre-order with full price. Overall, I am satisfied with it although the price does not hold long. Now you can find discounted price everywhere. But in general, I like it.

    Tech support and google useless

Do not buy anything from Google EVER. I bought this phone from Best buy and the battery began overheating to the point my skin was red from being in my pants leg at work. Took the phone back to best buy who deemed it defective, but because I was one day out of the 30 day return period I had to contact Google. Well, I contacted Google tech support and I was informed they don't have a manufacturer warranty if you purchase their phones from a third party vendor. So now I am stuck with a phone that is a safety hazard. I had a pixel 3axl that I wanted to replace because the battery was getting old and I had good luck with it. This is the worst purchase ever. Plus Google tech support won't do anything unless your sales receipt has emei number on. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and all I got back was a response response that said contact tech support who WILL DO NOTHING. So I purchased a Motorola edge plus 2022 and I am very pleased with. Traded in a 2 month old phone and a very expensive lesson learned. Do not ever buy a Google product. They don't stand behind their products at all. Run as far away as you can and don't repeat my mistake.

Relatively cheap and good. Best buy did a good job delivering. The pixel 6a is mostly good as described out there. Perhaps the only issue might be its slow fingerprint sensor.

Bad Finger Print Reader and Restocking Fee

After 2 weeks, I was so frustrated with the finger print reader I sent it back. I am not happy that Best Buy charged me a $47 restocking fee and of course I'll remember that when considering Best Buy for future purchases The 6a: Before the update to Android 13, the finger print scanner had a 50-50 chance of working., and after the update it was even less than that. And when it did work, it was slow. I probably would have kept the 6a, but Google who is big on security, may have messed up on a select batch of 6a's finger print scanners, as many, like me, had issues. My advise to Google, please go back to the much more reliable rear finger print scanner and/or include face recognition. My advise to consumers is to be aware of a possible flaw in your particular 6a finger print scanner, And also remember, even if you're a loyal customer with good standing, Best Buy will not offer an exchange, or a trade in, just a return, and you will be charged a $47 restocking fee.

I got the new Google Pixel 6A as a replacement for my similarly priced Samsung Galaxy 20 FE, and this is my review: Initial setup: This could not have gone any smoother, going from one Android phone to another. I simply popped the SIM card out of my Galaxy phone and installed it in the Pixel 6A; opened the Google app, hit the microphone, said “OK Google, set up my new device”, and followed the prompts. Everything transferred: apps, contacts, messages, pictures, videos, you name it. The only very minor annoyance here is the Pixel 6A does NOT have a MicroSD slot, which the Galaxy did have. First phone call: Of course, I called my mom to make sure the phone number transferred successfully and test out the sound quality of the calls. It was the same as my experience on the Galaxy, with perhaps slightly less volume at the max setting using the speaker option, but still plenty loud to hear from a few feet away. Playing music through the built-in speakers: For this test, I did A/B testing with the same songs through the same app, listening on one phone with the song paused on the other one; then pausing that phone and going to the other to hear the same portion of the song, going back and forth 5 times over the course of 2 songs. Quality wise, they were identical. I don’t expect awesome sound from tiny built-in speakers, that’s what my Bluetooth headphones are for, I just want decent sound at decent volume. What I thought I heard in my phone call to my mom was confirmed by the music test; the Pixel 6A is just a little quieter than the Galaxy, but it’s barely perceptible. Voice commands: With everything that this phone can do, it can sometimes be tedious to find what you’re looking to do. It’s nice to be able to just say “OK Google, turn on flashlight” or “OK Google, take a photo” without having to spend time swiping around to find what you want to do. The camera: This is what sold me the most on this phone. As I previously stated, my phone prior to this is a more expensive Galaxy S20 FE. The Galaxy has features the 6a does not: Wireless Charging and MicroSD slot chief among them. But the camera on the Pixel 6a has features the S20 FE does not, with my favorite being the Magic Eraser. Take a photo, any photo, even one that was previously taken on your prior phone that transferred over. You can remove unwanted people or things with Magic Eraser. Simply select the photo, click Edit, then Tools, then Magic Eraser. It can suggest objects to erase away, or you can just use your finger to draw an outline around what you want gone from the photo and POOF, it was never there. The quality of the camera to me is just as good as the S20 FE (which is excellent), but the tools available after taking the photo make the Pixel 6a the clear winner here. The battery: The battery on the Pixel 6a is very impressive. Heavy use for a full day with phone calls, messaging, photo taking, video watching, and music streaming doesn’t even phase it. I have over 50% charge left each day and then let it charge overnight. Because of the outstanding battery life, I can look past the lack of wireless charging. The best Android support: Google as you most likely know is the company behind the Android operating system. Because of this, The Pixel family is supported longer (5 years!) than phone models from other companies, and system updates will happen sooner on Pixels than on other brands who need additional time to implement system updates. In conclusion, the Pixel 6a offers an amazing value for the money. At under $500, you’re paying less than half the price of most company’s flagship models, while getting a very, very good phone. If this phone’s price is at the top of your budget, do yourself a favor and buy it. I don’t believe there is anything close to the features and performance you get from the Pixel 6a at this price point. I’m switching to this from a more expensive phone, and not looking back.

The phone works great, but it tends to run hot hot hot. I think the high running temp causes battery issues. Brand New it will make it through the day, but only barely.

Taking me a bit to figure out a few things. Which is normal. Sense I'm not a techie type person. Over all it works just fine. It could of had more photos space from the get go.
