Excellent Android Experience
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At first glance, it may seem like the Pixel 7 Pro is just a minor upgrade over the Pixel 6 Pro. While in some ways, that's true, after using the phone for a few days, you really appreciate all the subtle changes that make the Pixel 7 Pro feel like more than just a minor upgrade. If you've upgrading from a 6 Pro, you'll quickly appreciate the updates in the 7 pro. The fingerprint sensor is much quicker and more reliable. You also get the option to use face unlock with the fingerprint sensor, which is a pretty nice experience. I tend to pick up my phone with my thumb on the sensor area, so between that and the face unlock option looking for me as I pick it up, the phone is unlocked and ready for me as soon as I have it in position to use. If you've used a Pixel before, you may know that one of their most touted features is the camera. The 7 Pro is no different. It's a surprising step above the 6 Pro too. I'm always impressed at each new iteration of the Pixels improvements to the camera. I think the camera on any smartphone is my most used feature. The Pixels have always been at or near the top as a smartphone camera. If you're new to Pixels, or just trying to decide if they're worth it, I think the 7 Pro can easily stand against any other flagship smartphone camera. The additional zoom options, or the impressive macro mode are distinguishing aspects of the 7 pro's camera. Again, coming from a 6 Pro, almost every aspect of the 7 Pro feels like a nice refinement. The body of the phone looks much more elegant and feels more deliberate. The new processor seems like a great improvement over the previous one. Processing photos is now much quicker. Everything just feels good. I think the only part of the phone that I think could use a bit more refinement is the video capturing. I don't think the quality is quite as high as competing flagship models. Overall, if you're in the market for a smartphone, you'd be doing yourself a disserve by not at least considering the Pixel 7 pro. It matches or beats every other flagship smartphone and does so at a much cheaper price.

This is the way Android should be experienced
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, I assumed I was getting the full Android experience. I knew the Pixel line was Google's version of the platform, but never used one before except for maybe playing with a few for a few minutes from a display unit. You don't know what you're missing until you use one for your everyday phone. The first thing I noticed was how fluid the experience is. It's snappy, it's smooth as ever. I love the minimalism to the UI. Over the years Samsung's version has gotten better, but I still feel like their additions to Android can be cumbersome at times. This Pixel line is not only more fluid from my S21 Ultra, but it's much less expensive, which in the end, is what we are all looking for, right? A flagship experience for a budget price. Now, I know the Pixel Pro version is still $899, which isn't exactly cheap, but in comparison it is. The value is there! The camera on these are impressive. The hardware seems top quality, but the software is where this phone shines the most. The processing results of the photos are the best I've ever seen. You can snap photos as quickly as is possible with a phone. The shutter is almost instant. This comes in especially handy with quick moving children. With all that being said, I think the best feature of a Pixel is hands down the spam stopper. No more annoying spam calls or texts! The software they have implemented is so great that you don't even know it stops the calls or texts. It just does. You can adjust the sensitivity with it too! All in all this is how Android should be experienced. My hope is that one day the Pixel line up will have an Ultra version that has the top hardware to pair with it's leading software for us who want the best of both worlds. But if I had a choice between software and hardware, I'd pick software every single time.

iPhone for Android
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is much like an iPhone in terms of the ecosystem. The Pixel works fantastic with other Google products, without being too complex. Have used Samsung and LG smartphones in the past but Pixel streamlines all features into an accessible way. Nothing flashy about this phone with gimmicks like other brands, but effective at what I need in my day to day. Bought this for my girlfriend because she was looking to transition from Apple to Android and this was the perfect solution. We also always get compliments from the Pixel's camera quality on social media. Even doing side by side comparisons with friends that are Apple users, we agree Pixel photos are superior. For such a fantastic phone, the price is also not going to break the bank.

Great phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great cameras, terrific features such as magic eraser, photo blur (unblur) etc provides a lot of creative opportunities right on the phone (PC not needed!). Night sight photos are terrific and fast . 6.4" screen is great size- easy to hold. CPU/GPU not the latest but runs all the apps I use quickly (Note:I'm not a game player so no thoughts on speed for games). Phone features ( spam calls, voice mail, etc ) work well. Am averaging 1.25 - 1.5 days on battery life (would say light to medium usage). Am very satisfied with purchase

Pixel 7 Review
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had my Pixel 7 over a year now, and honestly, it's been a bit of a game-changer. I used to be the person always struggling to get a decent photo, especially in low light. But the Pixel's camera is just amazing. It captures details and colors that I never thought possible from a phone. The battery life is also surprisingly good. I can go a full day without needing to plug in, even with heavy use. And the phone is just so smooth and responsive. It feels fast, even when I'm running multiple apps at the same time. One of my favorite features is the "Call Screen" function. It helps me avoid spam calls, and it's even transcribed a few important calls for me. I also love how clean and simple the Android interface is. It's so easy to use. The only downside I've found is that the phone can get a bit warm sometimes, especially when I'm using it for gaming or video streaming. But it's not a deal-breaker for me. Overall, I'm really happy with my Pixel 7. It's a great phone at a great price, and it's definitely made my life a little easier.

Could have been great.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the phone is very good. Very responsive. reception and call clarity are all good. The screen is clear and bright. Voice dictation it's among the best and the industry. The camera. What it's known for is of course very good. The options in the software are simple and easy to navigate. The editing software included on the phone is also powerful but easy to navigate and execute. There are a few things that hold this phone back from being samsung or apple level quality. First and foremost, the fingerprint reader is trash. I've never had so many issues with a reader since they were introduced almost the decade ago. I've been locked out of so many accounts. I know some apps require it, as it's the only biometrics that can be used, but if you can, use it as little as possible. Use the facial or pattern unlocks. The second issue is the stock Android interface. Simple thing such as creating folders are non-existent. Be prepared to scroll through pages and pages of apps even before you add your own. Yes, you can download a launcher but that just adds bloat and security issues to your phone to fix a simple issue. You have the ability to make folders just on your homepage and not on your apps pages. Why? The third issue is upgrades. The phone upgrades your system while keeping it fully available to use. In theory, this sounds good, but this translates into a three megabyte update taking hours to complete. A major upgrade could take overnight or longer, Instead of just taking your phone offline for a few minutes like other phones do. You should at least have the option to either keep using the phone or letting the update take priority. If you're not looking to spend a thousand plus dollars for a Samsung and don't want to pay the Apple tax, this phone should be at the top of your list. But if ease of use is at the top of your list, the extra $500 for those other phones may be worth it.

Great Value for the Money
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great phone. I had an ancient Pixel 3A, so it was nice to get something more modern. The camera is fantastic on this thing. It is a bit larger than my previous phone, but the screen is beautiful. I haven't had any lag or slowness, either, as the hardware on this is pretty solid. And for the money I feel like you're getting a great deal compared to more expensive options like the iPhone. The only knock I have on this is the battery life isn't what you'd expect compared to it's competitors.

Loving the pure android experience so far...
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from OnePlus' late 2020 flagship product 8T+ , it was a pretty much seamless move into Pixel 7. While the Pixel 7's Tensor G2 processor is pretty much similar to OnePlus 8T+'s Snapdragon 865, the pure Android experience is much better than OnePlus's OxygenOS wrapper platform. Pixel 7 seems to be better built and has good ergonomics. That said, it is a tad bit on the heavier side and charging is limited to 30W. I believe this would help battery durability - time will tell. The OP 8T+ died suddenly , failing to charge or restart, which points to battery issue on forums that I read through. Hopefully, Pixel will last me longer enough. Moreover, I had to 'buy' a charger as the Pixel did not come with it and my OnePlus's 65W is not going to be useful as it may end up damaging the Pixel Battery. Phone performance has been great over one week's usage. Having multiple apps opened in background doesn't bother much. Battery life is pretty good. Lasts me a day and a half with normal usage - I am not an avid phone user. Camera is amazing! Bokeh in portraits are fantastic. I just love the magic eraser - works like charm! If you are looking for a standard smart phone with most of the bells and whistles, look no further. I got it at $100 discount during a recent sale, which makes it even better.

A genuinely fun to use device!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone doesn't just feel like you're using a smartphone. It feels like you're carrying a little tech buddy that genuinely tries it's best to help you out in any way it can. The amount of features packed into the software are just amazing. Call screening, now playing, and live translate are some of my personal favorite. On top of the plethora of features, the phone is just so easy to personalize to your liking. Google's Material You theming is by far the most playful and visually pleasing software experience out there. Lastly, there's the cameras and overall performance. It's a quick, snappy, and smooth phone that handles every task with ease. Unsure about it's gaming performance as I don't game on my phone, but I can imagine it's relatively good as well. The cameras are genuinely fantastic. Google's color/photo algorithm is unmatched. This is probably the best point and shoot camera on a smartphone right now. The battery lasts about 2 days for my personal use and charges relatively quickly. Overall, this is a genuinely fantastic little device. It's fast, extremely helpful, and fun to use. There's a reason why this particular device won MKBHD's smartphone of the year award.

First impressions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got the Pixel 7 on Friday the day after the release day. I'm migrating from a Samsung S21 5G so I've always gravitated towards the value, smaller flagship phones. Trade-in amount was great direct and almost covered the full cost of the phone/equal to what I paid for it. It was mainly for the great intro deal that I jumped at upgrading a phone that was only 1.5 years old. Also read about the Samsung batteries expanding... Nondescript package came 1 day after ordering. In box, comes with USB-C cable and a USB to USB-C adaptor, no AC adaptor plug at all. I had thought about getting the lemongrass then the white but ended up getting the boring black on the advice of my daughter but also thought it would stand up to wear and tear the best. Out of the box it's very very glossy. It's OK but it's had fingerprints since you first touch it. One weird thing is the box was scuffed up on the outside and the phone had particles on it like it had been opened but this was straight from the factory. I tried to use an eSIM to activate and save the trip to the store but a las the technology didn't work and phone got stuck in a activation no where land. Luckily on Saturday there was a store open that could help me out b/c the phone support is closed on weekends?! Long story short, store was able to get on the phone with their "specialists" and get the phone activated by using a physical SIM. After that, brought the phone home went through the menus and use a USB-C to migrate my apps, data over in no time. Easiest upgrade ever (aside from the activation hiccup which is par for course). Overall first impressions is it's a much nicer phone that my Samsung Galaxy S21. Feels better built with more weight with a cleaner more responsive UI than the Samsung One UI. I looked at online videos to learn how to switch between active apps. I really never did like or find value in all the Samsung apps, much prefer a pure, clean OS which of course the Pixel is. Power button, volume up/down are flipped between the Samsung and the Pixel but intuitively I much prefer the Pixel with the power on the top. As I said, I mainly got the Pixel b/c of the trade-in deal that essentially made the phone free to upgrade. I saw the launch event and was very excited about the unblur photo option and being a tech person all the AI/ML stuff enabled by the new Tensor G2. So far after 2 days very glad I upgraded. I have to confess I also upgraded b/c I was having issues with cellular connectivity on through my Verizon MVNO carrier and I read online that this could be a Samsung issue. I'm not a gamer and use my phone mainly to text, as a MFA code generator, for vendor apps (restaurants, transit), and web browsing so my demands are not that great. I'll report back after a while with an update on reliability and any issues found.

decentbudget android phone
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think I paid about $120 with a iphone 11 trade in more than a year ago. So far the phone has been pretty awesome for the price I paid. Pros: - Plain vanilla android with latest and fastest updates. - speedy performance, no lags - Good camera. - decent battery life. - great display. Cons: - picture quality not the best. I was hoping for better quality pics than on iphone 11, but was disappointed. Some noise on most photos when zoomed, even when shot on very good light conditions. My older Pixel 3XL pictures are clearer and better. I use my Samsung S22 for all my pictures and video needs. So much better on S22 than on this Pixel. - Random layer of tiny spinning balls come up several times every day, making the phone unusable until you swipe up and close that whatever all/layer, which can get pretty irritating and frustrating. No way to disable that behavior, even after updates and factory resets. Unless you get an awesome deal, I don't recommend this phone. Get a used galaxy s22 or other Samsung phones instead.

Great Phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son replace his iphone 13 with the Google Pixel 7 and he is extremely happy with his decision. The photos this phone takes are superior over the iphone. It is a faster phone, and the texting feature the Google Pixel has is far superior to any other phone. Once you use the texting feature I don't think you'll ever want to get another phone again. I purchased the Google Pixel 7 Pro for myself and both versions of this phone are seriously amazing. The user interface is very easy to use and it has nice, cusomizable features. I purchased the hazel color for hte pro and my son purchased the snow color for his regular pixel 7 and both colors are really nice and much nicer in person than in photos or videos online. The battery life is also very good on both the Pro and regular version. The only thing we've noticed is that the phones can get a little warm (nothing extreme at all) when charging or downloading but it cools off quickly. My son has only had iphones in past and he now says he'll only buy Google Pixel phones going forward.

Good value for the money
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance-wise, the Pixel 7 is impressive. It operates on Android 13 and is powered by Google's Tensor G2 chip, making it incredibly fast and smooth to use. Even compared to higher-priced models like the Samsung Galaxy S22, the Pixel 7 holds its own with its superior camera quality and overall performance. The camera system, despite lacking a telephoto lens, still manages to capture stunning photos. I also appreciate Google's creative camera features that make it easy to capture professional-quality photos. One of the highlights of the Pixel 7 is the display. The 6.3-inch OLED screen offers crisp and vivid visuals, and while the 90Hz refresh rate isn't the highest on the market, I feel like it still provides a noticeably smoother experience than a standard 60Hz display. On the downside, I do wish the device had a faster charging feature, and the absence of a telephoto camera is a bit disappointing. Nonetheless, for the price point, these are minor trade-offs.

Super reliable, refined, trustworthy. And Pretty!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall a really solid phone. I switched over to this Google phone after primarily using Samsung phones, most recently having a Galaxy Note9 which was so reliable and did everything I could ever want. A bit hesitant, but also curious after seeing so many positive reviews. This phone doesn't reinvent the wheel or have all the fancy bells and whistles as other phones, but it's a functional, polished and refined phone which does things efficiently. I certainly miss some features of my Samsung phone and the small ecosystem I had with it, but for ease of use, streamlined reliable powerhouse with beautiful pictures, it's been worth the switch. So far, it's been a little over the week and I'm still learning more and more about this phone and loving it more and more. If you're looking for something extremely reliable, not overly confusing or jampacked with features you may overlook, this phone is for you. I definitely miss phones from last generation where there were still headphone jacks and expandable memory, but still love this phone. Also, Best Buy had a crazy good deal on this and got it for a fraction of the price. Jump on it now.

Pixel 7 is a solid upgrade over the Pixel 6
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded from my Pixel 6. The cost of the phone was less about $50 after trade-in and gift card, though it was another $100 for the screen protector and case. :/ The phone is zippy, great screen, fits nicely in my hand (I like that it's a bit smaller than the Pixel 6). Android has managed to make the transfer from one phone to another incredibly painless, with all the apps restored, and even the app shortcuts restoring to the new home screen, and settings copied to the new device. My one complaint is that the fingerprint reader still fails more often than not, but face unlock sometimes saves the day. I miss the fingerprint reader on the back of my Pixel 3; that thing worked every time. For BestBuy's part, the phone arrived really quickly, and the $100 BestBuy gift card is more flexible than a $100 Google Store credit, but I've been waiting for more than a week for the trade-in shipping kit, and after emailing BestBuy twice, I've still heard nothing. Eventually, I'll have to make my way into a store to complete the trade-in, which has somewhat soured what was otherwise a pleasant transaction.

Excellent!! Great Upgrade
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm glad I did the upgrade from Google pixel 6. It was almost brand new pixel 6 and I didn't want to let it go. But after I bought this new pixel 7 for upgrade, I felt I did the right thing. They also gave me promotional trade credit and gift card. Well done best buy and Google! Thank you!! Camera experience is the best. It's got 50 megapixels and it beats iPhone 14 camera photo quality. It takes better night shot pictures than previous pixel 6 and fast shutter response. Ohh, you will also see that cell phone reception in 5g got boosted. And finger print sensor got better and it's got face detection unlock. So it will use both sensor to detect who you are instantly. It's fast..... Really. I'm glad that Google fixed the fingerprint problem. Battery life is extended about 5 more hours if you know how to save the battery life. Anyway, it was great experience with new Google pixel 7.
