    Charging cables, BEWARE

    Rating 2 stars because it wont charge with all USB chargers, that charge ANY other phone just fine, and Google knows about it... We bought the Pixel 7, and took it back after realizing some of our chargers/cables don't work. The Best Buy store staff didn't believe it until we brought our cables in and showed them both our phones, and also THEIRS charge fine. We collectively researched online, and YES this is a known issue with Pixels. My brother who bought one to acknowledges it What POSSIBLY could be Google excuse for this BASIC functionality gap? When you are at a friend's house, on a plane, in a car -- ANY charging cable should just work.. we DON'T need this compatibility BS.

    Phone was sold to me with the SIM card but they failed to activate it. After finally getting the card activated, the phone has been trying to do a security update for 3 days and still not updated. Other than that, no problems.

    I hate my new Pixel 7 phone

    I have had the Google Pixel 7 for 3 weeks. I spent two weeks with various tech support groups trying to get it paired with my hearing aids, and now I'm working again with tech support because the phone just stops; calls drop, podcasts just stop playing. For one important phone call, I had to call the person back over a dozen times. Online suggestions to fix it don't work. I understand quality control isn't so good with Pixel phones and I likely got a lemon. I always had Samsung phones in the past with no issues whatsoever, even after being dropped multiple times. Wish I had bought a Samsung.

    Do not buy this phone if you intend on travelling

    Very bad experience. I bought this phone in December last year before going travelling. I bought it mainly for the camera to use while travelling so I could have some great memories. It worked okay for some time, but the battery life has been terrible from beginning. After about 6 months, the screen one day just went black and the phone was completely unresponsive. As the phone is not released in many countries in Asia I have been unable to get it fixed. I contacted google and they said my warranty only works in Australia. So essentially the phone is just a brick now. I have been without a phone. And missed so many beautiful photos. I found customer service incredibly unhelpful as they offered no solutions apart from returning to Australia. This is a huge inconvenience and I basically wasted $900 on a phone that doesn't not even function. No I have to spend alot of money to purchase another phone. Very disappointed. Do not but this phone if you ever intend on travelling.

    Overheating is a big problem

    The Pixel 7 128GB phone is awful. I have had it for six months now and it just keeps getting worse. My biggest problem is the phone overheating with just a couple of minutes of use when using mobile data instead of wi-fi. This started happening more and more often after the December 2023 update and now the phone is pretty much unusable if I'm not using wi-fi. It also shuts down randomly, sometimes mid-call. Google support is not helpful -- instead of addressing the issue, they recommend that I not use phone apps while on mobile data or to stop using it when it gets hot. This does nothing for me. There's a big online community complaining about everything listed here. Additionally, the camera is not as good as I expected. My previous phone was a Samsung Galaxy S10E that I bought in 2019. I'd rather have that five-year-old phone again instead of this one. Stay away.

    Pixel 7 review

    The phone works great, it has nice display and nice volume. The only minor problem that i have with it is the battery. Even though i dont use the phone and just leave it on the battery still runs out of battery percentage. The good thing is that it charges fast. Other than that the phone works great for me. Hopefully they fix the issue for the pixel 8 or 9.

    Over hyped big time

    Just a Pixel 6 without the modem issues. Terrible finger sensor, lackluster front camera. Initially, Pixels were great for their cameras but the competition has caught up. Without Google's exclusives software features, this phone doesn't offer much. My Pixel 3's camera performance released in 2019 is comparable to this and that's an issue.

    Very nice phone

    I'm truly impressed with my new Google Pixel 7. I didn't want to go with another Galaxy and I didn't want to switch to an Iphone, but admit I wanted some of the features they offer. The Pixel 7 gave me some of the best of both android and Iphone type features. Still learning everything and really like it so far!

    Screen problems

    After 12 days of use the screen stopped working. The digitizer and phone still work great, but the screen itself has to be flexed to occasionally work for a few seconds, otherwise it just shows corruption or freezes. Since I was on vacation, I wasn't able to get to bestbuy to return it, now I'm dealing with google support, but they won't do anything without a purchase agreement with the IMEI on it, which since I checked out as guest I cannot find to save my life. My recommendation would be to skip this phone if your current phone works OK.

    Flawed rear camera- Dark photos

    The rear camera takes dark photos especially of skin tones and wood textures. The photo results come darker after the processing of the image. I tried the phone for 2 months and had to sell/trade it back to bestbuy for less than half the price $225. I tried to make some changes in the camera settings for exposure..etc and also took it to geek squad in bestbuy 2 times but they weren't able to fix it either. I was told it is a hardware issue of the camera after they tried to update the phone, check the camera settings. There is no help avilable online either...no YouTube video's or blogs help. You could only find other people complaining about it. The front camera is good but rear camera sucks. Dont be fooled by google pixel ads, switch to samsung or Apple.

    spent $500 on garbage

    Got a Google Pixel 7 from Best buy in April of 2023. By July of 2023 the battery life doesn't last more than a half day from a full charge with no apps loaded at all. Also the phone is no longer capable of using 5ghz wifi at all due to a bug in the OS so you'll have to wipe your phone every month if you want to use wifi on it. this product is absolute trash. complete 100% waste of money. it will stop working after 2 months.

    Never again

    Im one and done with Google phones, this phone has been genuinely horrible. It's got more bugs than my S7. All it's added features are utterly useless, I'd much prefer features that work all the time and provide an actual benefit, the pixel 7 is far from consistent

    Need internet to access photos

    Expect to only be able to access your pictures with internet. You can't create more albums unless you have the proper memory storage purchased on Google. This phone is definitely glitchy within apps. I'm all about creating videos for social media and this thing is terrible to do that with. The seller is the camera which is nothing compared to the iPhone.

    Poor QC and Support

    Disappointing device and experience. I have been a Google Fi customer since it was created and this Pixel 7 is my 3rd Pixel device. This device replaced my Pixel 4a5G, which was a great phone. This phone had about equivalent performance as the 2-year old 4a5G in terms of processing speed and battery life. When not on WiFi, my 5G was extremely unreliable, often leaving me offline with full bars. There was clearly something wrong with the internal cellular antenna. This morning, while on the web browser, the phone froze. Nothing worked and it could not be rebooted or shut down. A hard reboot worked, but the phone froze again during startup and is now essentially bricked. I called support for a warranty replacement. I sat on hold multiple times while the representative tried to learn her job. They sent a new phone out, but with standard 3 to 5 day shipping. No expedited/overnight option available (which should be the default, at no extra cost). Phones have become a vital daily utility for both personal and work life. Being stuck without one for so long is unacceptable. Very unhappy with the device. Clearly I received a faulty device from the manufacturer, but at minimum the faulty cellular antenna should have been caught during QC. I'm even less impressed by the support, which could not overnight or even expedite shipping of the new device. I'm a longtime Google ecosystem buy-in (phones/cameras/doorbells/displays/speakers/smoke detectors), but this experience has soured my impression. I'll be looking at a different phone manufacturer going forward (likely back to Samsung). I do not recommend the Pixel 7 to anybody. Good luck.
