Minor Upgrade from Pixel 6 Pro, but still nice

I upgraded to Pixel 7 Pro (P7P) from a Pixel 6 Pro (P6P). I never intended on upgrading, because I didn't feel it was worth the upgrade. However, Best Buy's trade-in value promotion was too good to pass up.
With that said, P6P to P7P was indeed not much of an upgrade. That's not to say P7P is bad, but rather P6P was that good. At least for daily usage, no gaming.
What I've noticed in difference/upgrade:
1. P7P fingerprint sensor is a BIT more faster and reliable. Like, for example, if I had 4/10 success on my P6P, then P7P is like 6/10. It's still bad, especially compared to Samsung's sensor.
2. FaceID is convenient, but practically useless. You need all the right lighting and angle to make it work. It's not using any fancy camera/sensor like on a iPhone or Pixel 4. It's just a front facing camera that uses AI to analyze your face capture. In other words, it's essentially analyzing the image of your face and not your face itself (no depth). Bad face capture = not recognized. But when it works, it's nice.
3. Battery life is better. If I ended my day on my P6P at 30%, then I end my day with about 40% on my P7P.
4. I'm not a big picture taker, but I have notice a much better camera focus when I take pictures of items to sell on eBay. It's a more, point and shoot, than on my P6P. Though, obviously, one of the big upgrades announced with P7P was the Cameras. I'm not doing it justice here.
5. Bluetooth connection seems more reliable. I can't be 100% sure on this, because I upgrade my Pixel Buds (2nd gen) to the Pixel Buds Pro at the same time. My previous issue with excessive Pixel Bud connection issue could've been the Buds themselves or P6P. So far though, with my P7P and Pixel Buds Pro, I rarely have this issue.
6. Calls seem to be more reliable. I hardly do phone calls or get legitimate calls (non-telemarketers), but I've noticed less noise and static during calls.
Google is starting the path of Apple and Samsung, a very minor incremental upgrade annually. I don't mind this, because it means I can hold off on upgrades until a big upgrade every few years. P6P to P7P is exactly that, a very minor upgrade. If you don't get a upgrade promotion, I wouldn't pay full MSRP for P7P to upgrade from P6P. I frequently forget I upgraded. It's like comparing iPhone 12 to 13, the 12 is plenty good but 13 is just 'newer'. How many of you can tell the difference between the 12 and 13 without looking at the ABOUT setting.
P6P users, wait until the iPhone 14 of Pixel comes out. Pixel 5 and below, I would recommend upgrading to either P6P or P7P. P6P is a LOT more affordable right now.

When Google Pixel 7 Pro was first released, I was impressed with the cameras, its refreshed design and the overall smooth performance. I've now spent a month using this phone frequently, and much of what I initially thought is still true, but some things stand out. I'll start with the good stuff.
I liked the design straight away, and it's grown on me even more over time. It's very similar to the Pixel 6 Pro, but it's changed just enough to seem fresh. It feels great to hold and the hazel/gold color of my review model has a particularly stylish edge to it.

Great phone with a lot of high-end features and a sleek design. The camera is one of the best on the market, with great low light performance and a versatile zoom range. The battery life is also excellent, lasting all day with heavy usage. The phone's processor is very fast and responsive, making for a smooth user experience. The build quality is also top-notch, with a durable glass and metal construction. Overall, the Pixel 7 Pro is a great choice for anyone in the market for a new high-end smartphone.

This is probably the best phone I've ever owned. Great performance, phenomenal photos, and easily a full day on the battery. There are a couple of negatives. This thing gets hot. The Tensor G2 is based on a Samsung's Exynos chip, and it shows. There have been several software glitches that have become less frequent with updates. Data connectivity has dropped a few times. That being said, I intend to continue using the Pixel lineup for the foreseeable future.

The Google Pixel 7 Pro is a top contender in the smartphone market, with its impressive specs and sleek design. Its camera is outstanding, producing stunning photos and videos, while its fast processing speed and ample storage make it a pleasure to use. The large and vibrant display is perfect for streaming and browsing, and the overall user experience is smooth and seamless. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a high-end smartphone.

Fantastic Cellular device. This phone is a great choice for anyone who loves taking pictures, watching movies and playing games.
The camera on this phone is amazing. It takes beautiful pictures in every lighting situation. The screen is also fantastic. It has a large size device and may not fit smaller hands. This phone is very fast; everything loads quickly and runs smoothly.

I had to upgrade my phone from a Pixel 5a and decided to go for a 7 Pro and WOW! The camera is amazing, the processor is fast, and unlike my last phone, I've never had an issue with overheating. It's got some other cool features too, such as how I have face id AND and in screen finger print sensor. Amazing phone and the price point is warranted.

I've had this phone since launch day. I upgraded from the Pixel 5, and I test drove the Pixel 6 last year before returning it. The Pixel 7 Pro is an improvement over the 6 in signal and stability. Compared to the Pixel 5, the only thing on the 7 Pro that isn't an improvement is the battery. It charges really slowly, and battery life ok, but may be an issue in the future. The screen is bigger and so much nicer (than the Pixel 5), it's brighter (not sure if it's bright enough for my liking), I don't have the Bluetooth issues I used to have (on the Pixel 5), weirdly my nest cameras seem to load faster on this phone. 5G is MUCH better on this phone as an unlocked phone. It's like having my glasses cleaned after weeks of having them dirty. The camera is impressive. LOVE the wide angle front facing camera and the zoom capabilities are passable. The design is so striking I had to get a clear case. I the color looks more like seafoam green in person than in photos, but being so different it's growing on me. Between how pretty the back is and how gorgeous the big beautiful screen it reminds me of what I liked about the OnePlus 7 Pro only with a MUCH improved camera. One odd bug is that when the phone restarts my battery settings are reset.
Bottom line: Very worthy upgrade if you can afford it. You can't have huge battery needs if you want this phone to be ideal. The new modem is being put to good use making it a champion of signal. The best point and shoot camera for still shots (vs videos).

So I recently bought this phone as I have been a pixel user for over 5 years. Customer service was fantastic when I bought it at Best Buy, Nice, and everyone was friendly. So I am not going to blame the staff on this as they had no making on the phone. Google did however.
I mainly just bought this as an upgrade to my 3a. But what I was mainly looking forward to was the camera quality. I saw many great reviews for the camera online and done and did as much research as I could. Animation is smooth, mic is nice and clear. Little to no background noise which is awesome. It's slick and an overall good phone. Now the reason I have 3 stars is because I believe it's over hyped and inconsistent. I compared the camera quality to my 3a and the front facing camera is more consistent in color, sharper, and adaptive, yes there is noise but compared to the 7 pro it honestly looks like the same amount of noise. The 7pro is smoother yes, but it's just a blurred mess. Colors aren't consistent and there was an automatic beauty filter applied??? That randomly turned off when I started comparing it to my 3a and how the front facing camera was more consistent and sharper. (I was talking out loud about my comparisons.) Front facing is just blurred out to make it look good for whoever takes selfies. And for the people thinking that MAYBE it might be the setting, no it wasn't. I put the same camera settings on both phones to compare the 2. I'm just disappointed honestly, my 5 year old phone has clearer camera quality on front camera than the 7 pro. I will also say the same about video. Which on both camera and video it's more tight as if it were already "pre-zoomed" in when it's not. My 3a gives a room and is consistent in distance.
Now comparing it to the back camera, there we can see the camera upgrade and better quality. The 7pro is sharper, more adaptive, zoomed in all the way to 30x there's noise but that's kind of expected. If I were to compare it to Samsung it would be an unfair comparison. Now, if I were to compare it to the pixel a series I'd say that there is an obvious upgrade, especially with the ultrawide angle lense, zooming in, and the obvious changes compared to the a series. The phone is just average in my opinion, definitely in upgrade to the pixel 6 as well, but overall just average, in my opinion.
Other things, phone gets hot fast, finger reader doesn't work as well, but google fixed that with screen protector mode (still kinda of wonky, but it helps), battery life is consistent, Google assistant doesn't pick up when whispering on 7pro, when compared to my 3a, it does. Display is beautiful to look at. Home screen gives minimal space to work with with widgets, but that's not really a big issue. Knowing these things I probably would have switched to Samsung just to give them a try. I still love Google and there pixel series, I just think it needs a bit more work.
I hope this has been a good review for those seriously interested in purchasing the 7pro. Again, I don't blame best buy, they're just the messenger, but I do blame it on Google. It's a good phone, I'm just calling out the things I've noticed.

I purchased the Pixel 6a on sale at BB and loved it. So I upgraded to the Pixel 7pro. Best smartphone that I've ever owned. Gorgeous hardware. Incredibly fast processor. Beautiful screen. Unlike my Galaxy S-22 Ultra, the Pixel 7pro has aptx-hd. Fantastic cameras. Good battery life. Lightning fast fingerprint reader. Highly recommend this beautiful device!

Owned a Samsung S21 Ultra and the 7 pro blows it away. Great camera esp with the blur correction. I have used it on the hundreds of burry pics my Samsung took. Super smooth response and opens all my apps faster than my Samsung. Battery life is super solid as well.

Awesome phone, have not had any problems with it. The camera is great and the video, there's a lot of versatility with the phone from background all the way to performance. Battery is good although due to the 120hz it does drain a bit but will last all day.

I am so impressed with the Google Pixel 7 Pro. The functionality and just the simplicity of finding everything I'm looking for (and even things I'm not) is worth every penny. I was an iPhone fan for over 10 years and never thought I would switch to an Android. But I got tired of limitations and the ridiculous hype. I wanted a phone that would play nice with my other devices. The Pixel surpassed my expectations and I'm so glad I switched. I love the fast charge, and the battery will literally last at least 48 hours if you aren't constantly using it. (I took it to a concert and recorded videos throughout 4 hours and it only went down to 30 something.) The camera is clear (obviously not as clear as a Nikon, but better than an iPhone). I cannot say enough about this phone; just thoroughly impressed.

Coming from a iPhone 11 this is a great update.
The screen is obviously brighter and at the moment, the system is snappy. Battery life is great but I do recommend purchasing a 30 w charger so you won't have to wait to long for it to be completely full.

The Pixel 7 Pro (P7P) is what I wanted when I bought the 6 Pro (P6P). I know that everyone talks about how great the camera is and they are right. The most important upgrade for me on the camera was the ability to focus on close objects quickly. I use my phone to scan bar codes when I shop and I struggled a lot with the P6P. The P7P is quick to focus, scan and proces the bar code. For me, this was important. The P6P also was slow to unlock with the finger print scanner. It actually works as advertised on the 7. Again, it turned out to be upgrade worthy. I charge my phone every night and have not had any issues with the battery (even though I set my screen resolution to the highest setting and do not use any battery saving strategies). So far, I feel that the upgrade was worth the money. But I also was able to get a very good deal. The cost after my P6P trade-in, a gift card insensitive, the points on my Best Buy credit card and sales tax was around $170. For that cost, this phone gets a 5 star rating from me. I would not have given the P6P a 5 star rating.

This is a huge phone, it has the exact same screen size as an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I would say it is almost to big, but I'm coming from and iPhone 12 mini. I would recommend pairing this device with a Pixel watch with LTE (cellular connection) so you can leave the phone at home or in a car but still get your calls and text messages. I would also recommend getting a pair of Google Pixel Buds Pro so you can answer calls hands free.
This phone has a decently bright screen with QHD resolution (has to be enabled in display settings)
Very responsive and fast to transition between apps. I also love that the phone is a pure Android experience. When a security update comes out for Android this phone will have it the same day its released. Even Samsung cannot make that claim.
One of the only issues I've had with the phone is that the always on display some times turns off and the tap to wake does not work all the time. Would have rated a 5 star had these features worked correctly.

Overall I like the upgrade from previous 6 Pro. I haven't had an issue with this phone. Performance is good. Only issues are bugs from Android 13.
Cameras are 8 out of 10. Sometimes inconsistent but overall good
Battery life is all day for me. I get about 5 plus of screen on time. I think it's a good buy.
