Did a lot of research to find a solid phone with an excellent camera and IP68 rating. This one ticked off all my criteria and was well priced. Saved $150 with pre-black Friday sale.

But this phone is a bit larger and for the most part is no big upgrade for me since the pixel 4 XL is on the same software. The cameras take time to figure out . It's not just piit and shoot like the older model. . .

Every time I switch to a Galaxy or Iphone i always find my way back to a pixel...i get a lot more work done with this devicw and the speak to text feature.

The things about them that I enjoyed was the fact that the the hardware and software manufacturers were the same people and the experience was fairly seamless. Everything "just worked". Now that google also makes hardware (the Pixel series) they too have the seamless hardware/software experience, along with the endless customization of Android and its latest iterations as they release from Google. Google's ecosystem is more open ended, less expensive and more diverse as compared to apples ecosystem. I expect google to compete heavily for market share as time goes on.

I had to replace twice because of weakness in the lower left corner, completely rendering it useless. I couldn't unlock it or do anything but answer a call. Screen was completely unresponsive, and the screen damage was almost indiscernible. Add the "Google" aura around it, and it is not worth buying.
