    Reliable Smart-Phone

Phone is great. Only drawback is the loss of the finger-print sensor on the back. I know that switched a couple models back but this was an upgrade from the Pixel 3. Please bring the finger print sensor back on future models Google!

Good phone but I've had problems with the volume button. The buttons work but the volume doesn't go up or down. I've had moments when the phone freez for no reason too.

    A good effort

Unreliable at the best of times and a broken glitchy mess at the worst. Camera is of course best in class, however. Google has a long way to go to provide a passable user experience in software, but the hardware is the best it's ever been.

STAY AWAY FROM VERIZON. STAY AWAY FROM PIXEL

Admittedly, my review has more to do with Verizons garbage customer service, but the Google Pixel is also to blame. I purchased this phone in November of 2023 and have had it in a case once the moment I took it out of the box. After about 4 months of use, I started experiencing screen discoloration/glitching along with a vertical pink line. Upon researching this issue, it became obvious that this is a common issue with this phone. I contacted Verizon about the issue, only to have them tell me that this was not a manufacturing defect (despite the issue being VERY common across the internet) and that I could file a claim against my insurance. After a few hours of being switched from person to person, they settled that they would send me a refurbished phone. I do not want a refurbished phone as I have received refurbished Verizon phones previously only to trade one problem for another. I asked to talk to management and was told I would receive a call back. The call never came. Three weeks later, I called again and spent over an hour on the phone with Verizon to get to the same place. This time, I accepted a refurbished phone just to get past the issue. The representative had a 3rd party company call me, when I answered the phone, they hung up and never called back. Luckily the Verizon agent was still on the line, so he had them call again. The same thing happened again, but this time the Verizon rep hung up as well. I called a third time and spent another hour on the phone going through all of this again. After again settling for a refurbished device, they transfer me to the third party again only to tell me that they have no phones in stock and would have to put me on a wait list to get a new one, with no definitive date that I will get the refurbished phone. So now, I have a 7 month old phone that's in poor working condition, with no end in sight to getting a replacement. After 3+ hours on the phone with Verizon, I'm irate and will never use Verizon again if this isn't resolved. I asked the representative to put me in contact with management, to which they said they'll have someone contact me. I won't hold my breath. STAY AWAY FROM VERIZON. STAY AWAY FROM THE PIXEL.

First AI Phone but battery life too short

Battery life is too short. My wife had a 4G phone and needed an upgrade, but we didn't want to spend over $1,000 for a phone. We thought we tried Google Pixel, so we bought Pixel 8 and though love the AI, the battery life needs improvement.

Avoid if you value quality, get a Samsung

If you have never used a Samsung or iPhone then maybe you will see this phone as impressive but in 2024 this phone does not even come close to the flagships available today. The phone lags, is not as bright, the camera is hit or miss, and Google's support is the worst in the industry. Buy a Samsung if you value performance, quality, and support... buy a google if you enjoy being spammed by telemarketers as google WILL SELL YOUR INFO.
