Functions as expected. Has taken a minor beating due to the lower quality gorilla glass but has held up almost a year later and see no problem getting it to 2 years

Beware, the Tensor 3 overheats and the phone shuts down especially when it is over 85 degrees or when you use it for Amazon Flex or other driver apps. This happened with the Tensor 2 in the Pixel 7a as well. Email notifications are often delayed by 5-15 minutes. Google these issues, they are quite common. Too bad, I really loved the size of the phone and the great camera but had to return it and get a Samsung.

I like my new Google Pixel 8a and several days after the purchase I am still learning how to navigate and am discovering new features. I think it will be a great phone once I'm used to it, and with the periodic updates will be able to keep it for a few years. I'm glad I did the research and knew what I wanted before going to Best Buy.

I got pixel8 when there was an offer. Off all the higher end phones in the market pixel is probably the most value for money. Screen and camera are elite - two things senior citizens probably care more about.

Great deal! Shipping was prompt and everything arrived as expected. Grabbed a set for me and my wife and we both love it! The phones were moderately easy to set up, expect the RCS/5G messaging but that could be a carrier issue but otherwise 10/10 purchase. Love that its Qi-charging too!

For a mid-range phone, the expectation is it will feel less than. Either the materials will feel cheap or the responsiveness of the software will be lacking. The Pixel 8a was a pleasant surprise because overall it delivers a quality experience across the board. Especially for someone who uses their phone to scroll the web, snap photos, check emails, and manage my schedule, this compact & snappy piece of tech checks all the boxes. –How it feels– Coming from a dual screen device, I was concerned about the smaller size. Honestly, it is great that it easily fits in my hand, pocket, and wallet! The rounded corners means it is super simple to hold on to, and I never feel like I’m going to accidentally drop it. The back is made from 76% recycled plastic, but it feels very sturdy and has a matte finish that doesn’t show any fingerprints. The touchscreen is extremely sensitive (almost too much so). One of the things that I do find frustrating is the fingerprint reader on the front. It often needs to be tapped more than once, plus the placement means it takes two hands to unlock. The facial recognition only works sporadically. Other than that, it is very responsive when scrolling or using it in apps. –Camera– The quality of the cameras is great, and the videos are crisp with clear audio. Night sight in particular is incredibly useful and takes really great shots. The panoramic feature was a little frustrating to use and not very intuitive. Some of the built in editing features, such as Best Take, are incredibly useful. Others simply are not because there is simply too much AI. Many of my images and videos are used for my business, so I have to edit them and splice them together with videos to make content for social media. It would be good to have more manual control of some of the options. Due to the level of editing I need, I’ve just been using a different app to edit the photos. Since the quality taken with the cameras is so great, I still end up with some amazing images. –Use & Battery– I find that with general surfing and playing music, I’ll still have 60-70% battery life at the end of the day. If I use the camera to film or end up editing videos, it drops much more, and I’ll wrap up with 30-40% battery. The device itself is extremely quick and snappy. Can pop in and out of apps lightning fast and haven’t experienced any lag on wifi. I don’t really use any of the built in intelligence features. So far I’ve just found them annoying because they frequently pop up and ask to help. I really don’t need a summary of my emails. It isn’t a huge deal for me to read them myself. It’s simple enough to just ignore the pop ups and move on. Gmail and Google Drive works fluidly, so collaborating and getting work done directly from the phone is easier than ever. –Summary– Overall, the phone does everything I need it to. It is quick, compact, and convenient. It is loaded with premium built-in features, too. While they’re not useful for me, I’m sure others would find them appealing and time-saving. My favorite thing is the incredible camera and seamless integration with Google Suite that makes doing business simple.
