Decent wat, but Google won't back its own warranty
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a decent watch at first. Beautiful to look at, impresssive display, comfortable, and integrated with Fitbit which I've been a member of for many years. I thought it was a sensible transition from my Versa 4 to the Pixel Watch. Well, I was very wrong. The battery life is terrible; lasts just over 24 hrs, with everything turned off (always on display, wrist turn, etc). Fitbit Versa lasted 4 days. Then, about 8 months after i purchased it, the back of the Pixel watch spontaneously cracked. I sent an email and picture to Pixel Watch support and that was utterly useless. They will not back their warranty, even though a quick internet search shows many other people have had this issue. When asked directly several times why they wouldn't repair or replace my watch, they gave me a vague answer. And they even tried to pin the blame on Best Buy, who only sold me the watch and nothing else. So i guess i will just wait until this wearable completely stops working and then I will either go with Samsung or Garmin. I don't want to go back to Fitbit since Google purchased them and will most likely ruin them too.

Bummed out
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was highly disappointed with the Pixel Watch. I truely wanted to love it, but just can't recommend it at this time. Let me touch on the positives and things I enjoyed first. The watch looks great. I do not think it's too small even though I'm used to a larger watch. I was not too concerned about the small bezel given how well the software utilizes the space available. It is also comfortable and pretty easy to use. Even though it doesn't feel like it will hold up to abuse, it still felt like a premium product. I hope they make bigger options in the future, but it still looks and feels great. Now my negative experiences: After setting up the Pixel Watch, there were a total of three instances where I loaded the Watch app on my phone and upon opening the app, I was prompted to agree to the terms of use for the watch (a second time). The first two times this happened, I thought it was strange that I was being asked to agree to the terms again, so each time I pressed the back button on my phone and each time, that action factory-resetted the watch. I'm assuming when you don't agree to the terms, you can't use the watch. That makes sense. But it made no sense to be prompted with the terms a second time after using the watch for hours. I never figured out why it had this issue, but on the third occasion this happened, i just agreed to the terms the second time and the app stayed locked up for about 5 minutes. A reboot of the phone seemed to fix the issue and I didn't have the problem after that. For reference, I use a Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Lastly, the battery life...yes, it was terrible in my experience. I did a lot of reading on the topic of the battery life and convinced myself that like many have reported, giving the watch a week or so to learn my patterns of use would train the battery. I did notice minor improvements, but overall, my life with this watch felt like the equivalent of driving home or to work on a nearly empty gas tank wondering if I was going to make it home. If was running low on fuel in my car, I'd start shutting things off (A/C or heater) just to save fuel in hopes of making it home. This watch is no different. You will likely have to compromise somewhere: Disable always on, tilt to wake, Google assistant, etc. These are the types of tips many give and while they are somewhat helpful, I found that I still just checked my battery life gauge throughout the day and barely got to use or enjoy the watch. I was incredibly disappointed. For the past few years before they officially announced this watch, I would occassionally check to see if there was news on the Pixel Watch. So I was the guy who was super excited when I finally learned they were releasing a Pixel Watch. My hope is that they vastly improve the battery life of the Pixel Watch 2 and allow us to use all the available features without compromise. When I considered the prospect of charging the watch sometimes 2 times a day on a regular basis, I quickly came to the conclusion that this was unacceptable and could not keep the watch in its current state. I ended up returning it and opting for the Samsung Gear 5 Pro. Without "training the watch" on my battery usage, I'm easily getting over 2 days of charge with regular use before I need a charge. I was really rooting for Pixel Watch to replace my last Samsung Watch, but after using the Pixel Watch, I quickly learned that the Samsung Watch is still a better option for me. I'm rooting for the success of future version of this watch, but I cannot recommend it.

Just an Apple Watch wannabe
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Up until about a few months ago, I used to own both an Apple iPhone as well as an Apple Watch. Everything was top notch and at the best of the class because just about everything that comes from Apple just because that’s how Apple does things. I wanted to cut some of my expenses and happened to sell both my iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well as my Apple Watch and ended up buying both a Pixel 7, and Pixel Watch to go with it. Long story short, I still regret that decision to this day, and went back to Apple again, The biggest problem with the Google Pixel Watch is the less than favorable battery life. When I had my Apple Watch, I could easily get by for about two days between having to charge it again. With the Google Pixel Watch, I was lucky to get a full day out of the watch without having to put it back on the charger. This varied by both the fact that the always on display was enabled, as well as the amount of exercise that I participated in during the day. After a few hours of exercise walking around my town, the battery life was down so much that I had to charge it during the day to have enough energy for my sleep tracking during the night. Then after I got up, I had to charge it again just to make it through the whole day. Despite all this, owning the Pixel watch after coming from an Apple Watch is quite a bit disappointing when it comes to functionality and usefulness when it comes to app integration, and the amount of apps available for the Pixel watch. The Google play store has a very limited selection of apps to use on the watch as compared to what you can get from Apple. Then comes the problems that everyone needs to know about if they’re thinking of buying one of these.Besides the handful of bugs that seem to plague the Android ecosystem, getting a full charge from the watch, at times took more than four hours to fully charge the watch. It seems that charging slows to a crawl after an update to the watch is released. I had discovered this on several occasions where the watch would still be at 50 percent, or so, even after all night. You have to restart the watch to get it to return to its normal charging state. Another huge issue is how you attach the bands. To do this, you have to press the small buttons on the top and bottom sides of the Watch. After pressing these buttons, the band usually came off rather quickly. Getting it back on, is quite a challenge. You have to line it up perfectly to get it to attach properly. I ended up missing so much, that I scratched the sides of the watch in the process. To be quite honest, you should definitely think of buying this watch before you happen to do so. This watch has plenty of things wrong with it. The first thing is that the battery life is subpar, along with the fact that it’s not an Apple Watch. Besides the lack of apps available, having to pay an extra fee for Fitbit access makes it much more expensive than it should be.

Great idea by Google but stick to Fitbit
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought the Pixel Watch when it finally went on sale, been a Fitbit user for years and since Google now owns Fitbit and I use a Pixel phone I figured now was the time to finally try a Google OS watch; returned a few days later and just gonna stick with my Fitbit Versa 2 for now (even considered just exchanging for the newer Versa 4 for the same price but with no significant upgrades over the Versa 2 just wasn't worth it to me). I like the design, software and smooth gel of the Pixel Watch but the killer for me was the battery life- my 5 yr old Versa 2 will last 5 days or more if I need it to, the Pixel Watch barely made it through the night while I was sleeping (also no vibration on alarms which makes no sense to me) so no way it'll last 24 hrs much less days. Also definitely gonna need a protective band or case if you do any physical activity because while it's pretty it also looks and feels very delicate; not what a smart watch should be to me. I'd love to try the Pixel Watch again in the future, but the battery needs some serious improvement.

The most beautiful smartwatch with drawbacks
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has to be the most beautiful smart watch that money can buy. The software is fine and works smoothly enough. Unfortunately thats where the good ends. The battery life is miserable. If i just had tilt to wake and notifications on, it often wouldnt last till the end of the day. One recommendation I saw was using the AOD instead, but this left horrible screen burn on the watch. Also this watch says it will work fine with any android smartphone. It was seamless with my pixel, but I tried using it with a samsung galaxy and it was very glitchy and struggled with notifications.

Basic watch but fails horribly at battery life
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I came from the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 classic and while this does do some things better, it fall far behind any other watch regarding battery life. I don't have things like the Always On Display active, or wifi, but only GPS and to trigger the display when I look at the watch. (Which does do this pretty well) And I'm lucky to have this last a full 24 hours off charge. Another issue is vibration, which is barely noticeable and the only workaround is to have any notification volume set next to 0. I can only recommend this watch if you get it for dirt cheap or free. I am only keeping this as I needed a cheap watch that had SOS functionality. Which I will say this does do quite well.

What battery life?
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this watch for a little over a year. I am also a diehard Pixel fan. Waited for years for Google to pair their phone with this watch and I am not really impressed. I purchased the Fitbit Sense about a year prior to this purchase and the Pixel watch, functionality, is there same if not better. However, the Sense battery is far superior to the Pixel watch. I perpetually have the pixel watch in battery saver mode with heart monitor off and still cannot get 24 hours out of it. Overall, to say I'm disappointed with Google, and the Pixel watch, would be an understatement.

Too much waiting around (for charging)...
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice features, but the short battery and long charging life made pull my Fitbit Sense out of the drawer. If you don't like taking time out to charge your watch before exercising but do like sleep monitoring capabilities, then this definitely ain't the watch for you! Battery dies at the most in opportune times without multiple charges during the day. Hopefully they got the second generation right...

Not worth it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As others have said, the battery is pretty terrible. You can't wear it to sleep, otherwise you would never be able to charge it. The software has been a little buggy too. At one point hitting the button on the side wouldn't take me back to the home screen so I couldn't read the time. If you own a watch and can't read the time, do you really own a watch?? It is priced too high for what it does. I wouldn't recommend buying.

A nice watch ruined by weak vibration
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was a very nice looking watch that was extremely smooth and pleasant to use... but had a major flaw that caused me to return it. The vibration just couldn't get strong enough. A major reason why I use a smart watch is because I miss my phone vibrating all the time, so the watch serves as a way to feel that vibration, but it was failing here from being too weak. It didn't help that I couldn't change the pattern, either. Tried using 3rd party apps, but they didn't help.

We suggest turning on the Battery Saver when the battery gets low. While Battery Saver is on, the "Always-on screen" and "Tilt-to-wake" feature will be set to Off. For sleep tracking, you will need a minimum 30% charge (about 30 minutes to 50%). Bad Build Quality
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was pretty excited for this watch but unfortunately was let down right out of the box. When I opened the box I immediately saw pieces of rubber sticking out from where the glass meets the metal. I figured it was a fluke so I exchanged for another one. When I opened the second one I could see what appeared to be adhesive all over the display. The speaker opening was also filled with this adhesive material. Maybe I just had two from a bad batch? Either way, that was enough for me. Hopefully the 2nd gen is much nicer.
