Do not buy: Defective Hinge will break screen
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy. After 2 months, the hinge broke, which also damaged the screen. Google refuses to honor the warranty. A quick search shows that there are many, many people who had the exact same experience. Google is trying to avoid responsibility for its own defect.

Nice Hardware with mediocre OS
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop hardware is very slick, it's thin and feels really sturdy, but also portable. You also get a nice screen that is also a touch screen. And the battery life is amazing as well, even when using the laptop to watch videos. The setup is easy too, but when you start using ChromeOS that's where the Pixelbook starts to feel limited. It's pretty much like running Chrome on a Windows PC, but you can only browse the web. You have the ability to run Android apps, but most that I tried just don't look good as Andriod for tablet never took off and many don't work. If you're an advanced user you can install Linux apps which makes the laptop more useful, but most people won't do this. If you are heavily a google user and don't need to do more then use a web browser, this may be for you. For most people though I would recommend either going with an iPad or a Windows PC that generally will give you more than the Pixlebook Go due to the limits of the OS currently. The hardware is nice, and with improvements to Chrome OS maybe this will be a decent laptop down the road, but for now, there are better options.

Worth (almost) every penny!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Chromebook many years ago, but I didn't think they were quite ready. I've kept up with how they've dramatically changed. I have been considering one for a while, but the original Pixelbook is just too expensive for what you get. I wanted something with an excellent build quality, slim and lightweight. I did not want one of the cheaper plastic models, and I own a Pixel 4 phone, so Google seemed the logical choice and I took a chance. After two days of use, here's what I've found: - This machine is blazing fast! It boots quickly, and unlocking it with my phone is a nice touch! It syncs seamlessly with my Pixel 4. 8gb RAM and 64gb storage is plenty for me, since most everything is accessed from the cloud. No issues with performance, at all! - The display is colorful and vibrant; I'm not missing my Surface laptop that had more pixels. The brightness levels are great also! - Great app support! It's fantastic that most of the apps I use on my phone work with this Chromebook, and this is one area where Google has come a long way! - Battery life so far seems solid. Google says 12 hours - all I know is it got me through a full day today and that's what I need! I have only charged this once, and it took a little over two hours to go from 31% to full. - The weight of this thing - it's light as a feather and the magnesium alloy build quality is impressive; it's not cheap and plastic! The ribbed bottom makes for easy gripping, and is a nice touch! The Black color is also a welcome change from all the Gray and Silver devices you see. - Speakers get quite loud surprisingly, but maybe a bit more bass would have been appreciated. Still, good quality sound here and there's no sound distortion or anything like that. - The trackpad works great, and this is a huge point for me. I don't typically use a mouse, so I need the trackpad to work perfectly. I can definitely say this one is great, very responsive and I've had no issues so far! - The best part of this Chromebook though, has to be the keyboard. I have NEVER experienced anything like it. Google calls the keys, "hush" keys, and let me tell you ... it's a joy to behold. When typing, the key travel is simply perfect, but the sound of hitting the keys is soooo quiet!! I am sitting in a dark, quiet room typing this review and I can barely hear myself typing! I had a 2017 Macbook 12, and the keyboard, though good, was loud and clicky and just too shallow for me. I was always missing letters and it was just a frustrating experience! This keyboard is the best I have ever had - I can't say enough about it. It makes the laptop experience so much better! There are a few things Google has missed here: - There are only two ports, one on each side, and one's used for charging. I'm okay with it, since my previous Macbook and Surface laptop only had one port. Still, that could be a big deal for some. - No MicroSD support for expandable memory, so the 64gb storage might prove challenging. I'm okay with it, but not having it really doesn't make sense, considering so many other Chromebooks have them. - The price! At $650, this is simply too expensive and a clear $150 over some great competition. The Asus Chrombook C434 Flip is a great option at just under $500. Samsung have some as well that are a couple hundred dollars cheaper. I had been waiting for the price on this to drop, but never saw that happen. Oh well. Ultimately, Google has made one heluva laptop that's considerably cheaper than their own Pixelbook, Yes, it's a bit more expensive than most Chromebooks, but it's definitely worth your consideration. Don't buy this if you are heavily invested in Mac's or Windows ecosystem, need a power processor, or game a lot. This is not that kind of machine! For my needs, this Pixelbook Go is perfect ... and though a bit pricey, it's a fantastic laptop that might just be the best I've ever owned!! If you're on the fence, give it a try. You won't be sorry!!

Premium Price for a Premium Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Yes, this direct from google laptop is priced at a fairly premium level. But rest assured you will receive a premium product. Pros: - Superior build quality. There is zero flimsiness to the laptop. The hinges are firm, despite being able to open the laptop with one hand. Everything feels nice and smooth and tight. - Superfast. The M3 along with 8GB of RAM flies. - Perfect keyboard. The backlit keyboard is perfect and premium. Not mushy at all. Very satisfying click to each press but still maintains a very quiet sound level. - The touch screen is there if you need it. - Battery life. I am getting the advertised 12-13 hours with 80 percent screen brightness. Best on the market. - Nice and bright screen. This unit offers more brightness than most of the competition. It is nice and clear with a cool color gamut. 1080p is perfect for a screen this size. 4K would only be needed for graphic design or gaming. - Quick charging. Very few laptops offer the ability to charge rapidly. Plug it in for 20 minutes and gain a few hours. - Amazing speakers. The best laptop speaks I have ever heard. You could totally use this to listen to music or watch a movie. - This is a direct from google product which means you will be the first to see new features and chrome software releases. - Weight. It's very light and very portable. But at the same time, you don't feel as though you're going to break it either. The build quality really is outstanding. Cons: - Not a 2 in 1. Much of the competition at this pricing level offers the 2 in 1 type. I personally do not need that but it is something to consider. - Price. While I was willing to pay this price and have no regrets I can see some people still shying away. - Two USB-C ports and that's it. While this does not matter to me personally, much of the competition offers additional ports and/or storage slots. Especially at this price level. Competition that I considered: - Asus C434 (Similar specs with 2 in 1 functionality, great build quality, but hard to find) - Asus C433 (Similar specs with 2 in 1 but build quality is plastic and flimsy, especially the hinges) - Asus C425 (Similar specs but a dim screen and plastic/flimsy build) - HP X360 (Sells like hotcakes, 2 in 1, however bulky and aging in design, heavy in comparison) Summary: If you want a superior build quality in a Chromebook that simply flies, this really is the one for you. Especially if you do not need a 2 in 1. None of the competition comes close in build except for the Asus C434. The Pixelbook Go offers you a nice bright screen, great speakers, direct from google support, and the best keyboard on the market. Spend a day with it and you'll be impressed.

Excellent computer!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the third Pixelbook Go that I've purchased this year. The first was for me to replace my Windows laptop (a decision I am extremely happy with!) Second was for my oldest to use for college. This one is for my high schooler for online school (and everything else.) We all LOVE our computers! Pixelbook Go is super fast, simple to use, light-weight, long battery life, and has a very comfortable and quite keyboard. We all have the 64 GB model and it is more than enough storage since we all keep most stuff on Google Drive. Chromebooks have come a long way - I can never see myself going back to a Windows or Mac!

Excellent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While most are complaining pricing, the pricing isn't bad at all. I went for the Pixelbook Go with the Core M processor. I have the 12" MacBook with the Core M processor, so I already know what to expect. The Pixelbook Go works just fine with the Core M processor. I already use the Pixel phone so I'm somewhat in the ecosystem. If you use an Android phone, you can use it to unlock you Pixelbook Go since there's no fingerprint sensor to unlock or to use for payments. With heavy usage, the battery lasts all day for me. With light usage daily, I can go about 3 days without charging. This is awesome because I haven't had this experience with any other computer platform, Mac, Windows, or even previous Chromebooks. While the display is touchscreen, it doesn't support the Google Pencil. You can easily open this with one finger with no problem. It's very lightweight and feels premium and not cheap like some of its competitor's chromebook options. There's been complaints of there being no CAPS lock but there is. You'll just press the launcher key along with ALT. Typing on the keyboard is quiet. The keyboard is smooth and no issues. I like typing on this keyboard. This says a lot for me as I have returned computers due to the way the keyboard feels when typing. The Pixelbook Go supports quick charge, so no need to worry about that when on the go and needing it to charge quick. It has two USB-C ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The upward facing speakers on each side of the keyboard remind me of the older MacBook Pro and current MacBook Air speakers. The speakers sound great with music or watching a quick show or movie when on a flight. I've paired mine with a USB-C hub, so that I can connect my ultrafit USB thumb drive where I can save documents and access other saved content. You also have the option to use Google Drive to save content. I was able to easily access my network print with my Pixelbook Go connected to the same network. You know have the option to use Linux on your Pixelbook Go without having to boot in to another drive. This is in beta. Some will not care but it's a nice option. You'll be able to do most things with the availability of downloadable Google apps from the Play Store. If you're on the fence and not sure, give it a try. You won't regret your purchasing decision.

Fast Start up and Thin
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WOW this is a fast start and load time. You wouldn't think it would be this fast and so thin. I love how they have made the bottom with a rubber ridges on. I feel safe putting this on any surface i have no fear of it slipping off. This is very light and thin easy to carry around. Screen has a great picture on it and the SOUND is AWESOME i haven't seen a laptop with 2 speakers on top that sound this good. The touch screen is a great feature on this easy touch. The Battery life is good i haven't used it all up yet i want to use it for a whole day to see how long it really last. They make this so easy to use just unfold it and its on to start the set up only took 5min nothing hard just sign in to your Google and your good to go. This can go anywhere as light as it is doesn't really feel like you are hold any extra weight. I wont give you all the specs of the device like the GB, RAM or SSD size. I will just tell you i really enjoy this as my new device. I added pictures of the device so you can see what i'm talking about.

Well built, amazing battery and smooth processor!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Pixelbook Go. I gave the first one that I bought over a year ago to my wife as she was always in awe of the battery life and virtually silent keyboard. The M3 with 8GB RAM on a Chromebook is a perfect balance for superior battery life, fast enough to multi task and keep the back-lit keyboard on 25% and screen at 75%. With all that going on I get 12+ hours of usage. Not too shabby! The screen is great and the speakers are amazing. The magnesium alloy build makes it lightweight yet feels 100% solidly built. Highly recommended! A++++

Secondary Machine for Travel
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a secondary machine to use when out and about or on the road and I am pleased with this purchase. The build quality is fantastic and certainly feels like a premium device. The keyboard is pleasant to type on and the speakers pack a powerful punch. The trackpad works well but sometimes it picks up unintended gesture controls but the may be myself and not aware of my movement. Body is solid without flex and the screen is nice but the colors aren't top of the line, perhaps a little flatter/warm but nothing that most people would even notice. I've been getting the stated battery life without a problem with brightness about 70% and volume up. I picked this up on sale and I am pleased with what I am getting out of it but you should know what you're getting into before picking one up. I.E. ChromeOS, pricing, and comparing the competition within ChromeOS and with Windows/Mac. One cool thing that I didn't know prior to purchase is that Google offers free premium apps and benefits that rotate each much that owners can pick up. 3 months of Disney+, games, 100GB storage and more are recent offerings that add to the value.

Simply amazing!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So Ill start by saying that I am a die hard Google user. Every generation of Nexus, and no Pixel phones, Pixel bids, Google home hub, connected home. Everything. My HP that I use for personal and work gave out the other day. Gave me the perfect chance to give in and finally buy this beautiful piece of hardware. First impressions...it is very light! Booted up in seconds, set up was so easy and quick. All of my google apps are here, I can switch between applications so easily and quickly. Charging was super fast. Battery life is great. The display is beautiful. Crystal clear touch screen. Typing is smooth. The camera is great on this computer. I am able to use Google Duo for video chat and it is crystal clear on the other end. Getting to the work stuff, loading Microsoft's Remote Access app and CudaLaunch installed from the Play Store and are working smoothly. The VPN works better than it did on my windows HP. Overall this is the best laptop I have ever used. I had never been so excited to purchase a laptop in my life!

Excellent machine for the kids school needs!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the 'open box excellent' version of this machine, arrived in pristine and new, battery check indicates it has not been used. Very happy with its overall condition. Using for for the my kids school since they use google classroom. Extremely simple to log-in with a Chromebook because they manage the profile you don't even need one yourself just the child's ID and it will pull down exactly what you need. Very fast, no impact to performance using the m3 model, everything works perfectly and fluidly. The keyboard is surprisingly excellent and I come from many many years of using the gold industry standard of laptop keyboards, Thinkpads! haha. Overall package is extremely light but yet extremely durable feeling. Very happy with price, performance and overall feel.

Hands down, the best Chromebook I've ever used...
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.But... It leaves some things to be desired. They're charging top tier dollar for an outdated device. The keyboard is great. It's nice that it's back-lit. If you've ever used a Chromebook, and know it's limitations (which are becoming fewer compared to it's MacOS and WindowsOS counterparts) I have no doubts anyone could use this. It's actually easier to use than a Mac. It turns on quickly and is ready to go right away. If you have an Android phone, the computer and your phone can work together. You can essentially have an always connected laptop, without getting an extra simcard and accommodating plan. The web browsing experience will absolutely be better than that of a smartphone, or even a tablet. The screen isn't bad by any means, both in clarity or in brightness. The speakers are wonderful. But then this is why I exchanged it for a different device. There's a nagging voice in the back of my head. It's a wonderful device. For now. If I were to hold on to it for a few years, (as most people do with laptops and computers) How is it going to hold up? The chipset in here is already dated, as Google is using hardware that's already a few years old. Granted Chromebooks don't need as much as their Apple and Windows counterparts, but I wasn't confident in this setup. Yes it's great now, but what about later, but also, how long will 'later' last? Google made a great product. If anyone is looking for a 'budget, but still has enough' laptop, I'd recommend this to most people, especially if upgrading some day is in your plans and you just need a 'right now' computer. On that note, this just wasn't for me.

Top Notch Computer!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this computer! Unfortunately I had to get a new one because it didn't meet our safety standards at work. However, that does not take away how easy to use, light, fast, and just amazing this computer is. I got a more expensive computer from ASUS for work and it doesn't even hold a candle to my Pixelbook go! I even used it for web dev; Although, if you are using it for Web Dev i highly suggest going for the i5 or i7.

Fantastic Higher-End ChromeBook
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased two of these for our kids who are working from home during virtual schooling. They are significantly better than the cheap sub 300 dollar options that are everywhere, such as the ones the school districts use. Great bright screen, accurate touch (not as precise as an iPad, but good enough for a chromebook). Fantastic speakers that are crisp and loud. Fast, instant boot and amazing battery life. Solid build quality too! Not a scratch on it yet even though they are used by 8 year olds. Absolutely recommend!
