Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

My AirPort network had been slowly dying, but I just dreaded going back to a traditional router. Finally decided I couldn't put it off any longer and went to Best Buy. It was there I discovered that Google makes a system, and I decided to give it a try. Super slick and easy setup, and the system has been rock-solid. Highly recommended.

Coverage on a home of about 3000 SQ feet is very easily serviceable with this product. Speed does seem to drop as you connect to anything other than the main wireless unit. Overall very easy to use and has some useful features like bandwidth monitoring on wifi connected devices. New firmware allows you to forward ports if you need that option. Everything is controlled via a phone app, including the initial setup. As far as I can tell you'll need to create a google account if you do not already have one.

Prior to googles mesh system I had to have two routers to get a "decent" signal throughout my home. I tried extenders but they were worthless. I had to have several wireless networks setup. So you would have to switch networks if you wanted a decent signal in the basement. Once I hooked up this system I had a strong signal from top to bottom of my house.

The Google Wifi AC1200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System (3-Pack) does an excellent job especially since we have concrete walls and two floors to connect. With a little technical help and strategically positioning each unit, it was relatively easy to set up. I strongly recommend this product. We are thrilled to have WiFi working in our home.

I have a large house and Wifi signal and speed have always been an issue. Since I installed this Google Wifi system, my Wifi troubles have disappeared. I have literally not had to touch / reboot the Google Wifi since I installed it. It is super easy to install and is managed from your cell phone. Simply awesome.

I have a 2000 sf old Victorian house with an office on the 3rd floor that my existing Comcast xfinity WiFi wasn't reaching consistently. Rather than futz with a repeater or ethernet over power device I decided to try Google WiFi. I've been in IT 15 years so my knowledge is extensive, however when it comes to my home tech I keep things simple. I just wanted something that works and didn't have to mess with. I decided on a mesh wifi system as my wife frequently roams around the house and I take calls over google voice so the connection needs to stay consistent. Three things of note that I didn't see from other reviews. 1. If you are using your carrier supplies modem/router combo (or "gateway" as Comcast calls it) then you will need to enable bridge mode to pass on the connection and functionality to the Google system. If you don't do this, it won't work. Something they left out of their Instructions. 2. These do not work in a daisy chain formation as I expected. IE. I have the main unit in the living room, a 2nd unit on the 2nd floor and the last one in my office on the 3rd floor. I expected the 2md floor unit to repeat and amplify the signal for the 3rd unit, it that is not the case. They 2nd and 3rs floor units both connect directly back to the base unit. Google support suggested it was because it was close enough to the main unit that it didn't need to daisy, but I couldn't get it far enough away to test his theory. In any event, I only needed 2 units and I eliminated the 2nd floor one, and still have good coverage. Better than before. $300 better? Probably not. 3. I do have the occasional drop out. Can't figure out if it's when reconnecting to a new unit or not but the connection always comes back quickly. I haven't taken any calls while roaming or done extensive testing, but hopefully this doesn't become a problem. Google support is good, though not that responsive for more complicated problems. I sold the unnecessary 3rd unit to recipe some costs. It'd an expensive system but it is less than competitive mesh systems and I'm a Google fan boy so... It works. Good luck!

I researched this quite a bit before purchasing. It was between they Eero wifi and Google. Reviews said Eero was easier to set up but more expensive. Google wifi instructions were not as detailed as I had hoped so it took a few tries. After downloading the Google wifi app on my smartphone, my Samsung smart switch needed to be turned off before setting up. It also did not mention in the instructions that the code you need is in very fine print on each of the units. We bought the 3 pack. Had setup been easier, I would have given this 5 stars. It works great and we should have bought one sooner. Extends to our detached garage where we have offices.

Before having Google WiFi, I have been having a lot of wireless connectivity issues with my previous modem router. Ever since I got Google WiFi, it has been working seamlessly. It is very easy and quick the get it up and running. Also the app provides really easy to use interface to configure your network, parental controls, and guest wifis.

We had a standard modem/router furnished by our WiFi provider. WE constantly had problems with dead spots and our printer disconnecting from it. Jonathon, from the GEEK Squad recommended this system and what a difference. No more dead spots and our printer hasn't once failed since installing. It is worth every penny for the peace of mind.

I bought Google Wifi up just after it was released. Set up was easy, but about 2 weeks after there was a major problem with Comcast and Google. All was resolved in about a week but it was a pain. After that all has been great. Easy to add more, easy to give access to guests, etc.
