Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

This product exceeded my expectations from both an installation standpoint and reliability standpoint. I needed something to install for my parents as they were constantly having problems with their WIFI router and providing technical support every 2 days was not ideal. Installation was super simple - install the app, scan the barcode, follow the instructions and BAM you are online. I have not had to reboot or troubleshoot a single issue since installation and with the app I am able to check the status and make any configuration changes that may be needed in the future. I would highly recommend this to anybody.

I live in a true 3 story and my router/modem are in the basement. My son, the gamer of the family, has always complained about weak WIFI and those powerline things were better, just not good enough to keep him from lagging. He saved his own money and got this, I wanted the NetGear one but it was his money, and what a difference. He performed a speedtest and went from 5-7 down to over 50 down. I have personally noticed an increase in my ROKU spooling compared to previous WIFI/powerline connection. If you live in a big house then you need a MESH network and this one is working very well for my household needs.

I was impressed with this router it was easy to setup, and has a good range even on its own, and I have not experienced any dropped signals. The only downside is there is only 1 free ethernet port so i picked up a small switch. Also the phone app to monitor and test your internet has lots of features you usually only get with an expensive enterprise level network equipment.

My home is roughly 3,000 sq ft, and has horrendous thick plaster walls, which were blocking most signals sent through the house. With this set, I can now get wifi across all rooms. I also really love the app, which is quick to inform you when your internet is out, and will tell you the download/upload speeds, as well as how many and which devices are connected to wifi. Great product!

I am loving this, one of the best purchases in some time. It is an easy set up, does take about 45 minutes, but it is easy. The online app allowing you to see what is happening with the network, the speed tests, etc. love it all. As noted, I have the three piece set. I have two wired and one that is in a far remote part of the house, they are all connected and work awesome. Great coverage.

Have 200mb dowload and 10mb upload from ISP. This system exceeds my ISP specs. No latency on all 10+ streaming devices and my remote work is rock solid. Easy to setup.

Google WIFI is great. I have a 1.5 story home with a finished basement and this router covers every corner of the house. It offers a feature through the APP that shows the current/realized speeds which is awesome. I thought I'd need 2 (being that it has mesh wi-fi capabilities), but 1 device is perfect and blankets the entire house. Set up was easy and effortless.

Needed full home WiFi for a multi-level, thick-walled historical home. Purchased these and could not be happier. It has it all...from ease of setup to their looks. We have no speed loss from what is advertised from our provider. And not only do we have many products connected (smart lighting, security, Sonos and more), but we also exclusively stream our TV services. A++

I work from home, so I need to have stable internet at all times. I also live in a building, and its a bunker that does not allow the normal AT&T router provided to give out good wifi signal to the other side of the house and completely gets overwhelmed with the amount of devices that we have in our apartment since we stream everything. Since purchase its stabilized everything and the speed boost has been considerable. Since the original router would struggle we would get 10MBPS, now we regularly get 40+MBPS. Definitely would recommend. Worth the money, and very easily to set up and use.

The Google WiFi mesh system is easy to setup and expand to fit your small or large home. It was the perfect upgrade from my single router setup and the Google WiFi has a lot more conveniences than my old setup. You can prioritize a device for a period of time and it has a family feature that provides parental controls and will let you pause the WiFi. It just really easy to use.

Love this! I use to have to constantly make adjustments to my router and wifi repeater setup and it would always manage to fail again, lose connection or not cover how I had hoped. This system offers great coverage, makes it easy to check the mesh points and using the Google Wifi App is a super easy!

I upgraded my system from a 10 year old Netgear router and the Google system is much better and I have even coverage through out the house now. I have my desktop and TV plugged into the two ethernet ports in the back of the satellite and use the wifi signal for my phone, misc devices and laptop. I'd love see Google WiFi and Google Home incorporated together in one device. One qualm: when I first enter a web address I often get a DNS error message, which quickly goes away without me doing anything and the page loads properly and all is fine. However, if I go to a different tab, then back to the page, I find it greyed out and disconnected from the internet. Sometimes it automatically refreshes to display the page automatically, other times I have to hit the refresh button. It's not a major issue, but a bit annoying at times. It's as if the router senses no activity so goes to sleep, then comes back to life, with a pause, when I type something. I'd still recommend it though, and I bet the next generation will be stellar.

Great Fast Mesh Home Wifi Network Solution

Google WiFI is a great large house or multi-level house solution. I have a three level 2400 sq ft townhouse and I couldn't get a stable signal even with wifi range extenders on the third floor. Also the range extenders significantly limited my internet speeds to about 5mb/s. With google wifi I now have stable internet service with a supper strong signal on all three levels and steadily get 15-20mb/s down. Google Wifi also only needs 1 network name for all connection on all levels. This is a fantastic solution if you have dead zones in your house or a weak signal due to wifi range extenders.

Units are off white, pretty small with a rubber strip around the bottom to keep them from sliding around, so they stay put where you put them. Activity light is in a small slot in the middle, white means your network is up and running. If you have an issue they'll change color to let you know. You can change the brightness of the lights or turn them off completely if you wish. They also have a small indentation on the bottom for attached cables so the unit sits flat on the surface wherever you decide to put it. Each unit has a USB C connector for power and they plug directly into a socket, no power bricks or extra boxes are used. Each unit has only two ethernet ports available and the one used as the main unit you're using one to connect to your modem so only one is available to connect additional devices. If you need more than one I just hooked up a five port switch and it was easily solved. On the others you're using as mesh access points you can use both if needed or add a switch if you have that many devices. Setup is crazy easy. Download the Google Wifi app from either Google Play or the App Store. All the units are the same so just pick one to use as the main router, connect the power cable and the provided Ethernet cable and fire up the Google Wifi app. You can use pretty much any phone or tablet, either Android or IOS to do the setup. Sign into your Google account or set one up if you don't have one, scan the QR code on the bottom of the unit, set up a network SSID and a password and you're good to go. The app already knows you have two additional units so your next step is pretty much plug them in and the app does the rest of the setup by itself. Couples of minutes later your mesh Wifi system is ready to go. I needed to move one of them a couple of feet to get a better connection back to the base unit but that was it. The app will tell you how strong the connection is between the mesh points and the router so it's really easy to see if you need to make any adjustments. Performance from the router unit is comparable to any other router I've used with max throughput (ISP speed is 350/25) within about 20 Feet from the base unit. If you have a small apartment one unit will cover it nicely with no dead spots. I have the base unit upstairs and the mesh units downstairs on opposite sides of the house (2500 sq. ft.). No dead spots I can find and the mesh units provide a really strong, fast signal with low latency. Speed on the two mesh units are around 160/25, which is quite usable for gaming, 4K video, etc. For comparison I've used a recently released super high end traditional router with eight antennas and a different system that looks like a couple of giant air fresheners and Google Wifi compares very favorably to both of them for a lot less money. The entire system is controlled by the Wifi app, includes pretty much any info you could need about signal strength, performance, etc. If you're a tech geek who likes to tweak their network settings you may be disappointed, but if you want a solid easy to setup and maintain mesh wifi system then this is a solid choice and highly recommended.
