Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

Just moved into a larger house and I needed something that was going to cover the whole are, I have to admit this is an extremely simple system to set up. I have went the extra distance to hardwire each unit to give that extra bandwidth usage, I enjoy the fact if I unplug one my electronics connect to one of the others, and the app is great to see every device connected.

There are a few steps to follow to set the units up but nothing difficult. Once you’re connected, the app is great to check the status of the system and the speed. Owned it for 6 weeks now. Very pleased.

Really easy to set up, and the phone-only app really is wonderful. I have a wired setup and I get perfect reception throughout my 2 story 3500 sq foot house (outside as well!). However, if you plan on integrating this with your existing router, think again. It *can* work, but its really not worth the hassle. Downstream dumb switches are the only way to go.

I didnt have the wifi signal app before I bought this system but I know we had weaker signals with just the single router. We spread the modules around the house and tested the signal with the app to test the weaker areas, this system works well we even have a great signal outside in our patio area so we are happy with it. It was also very easy to set up.

Best WiFi we have ever had

Our Home is large with a full basement level, main level and my office above the garage. The WiFi needs to cover 3 floors and is quite spreadout from end to end. It was a problem historically, even with a newer WiFi AC router I purchased a year ago, the signal did not improve that much. I did some research and decided to go for it with a 3 Pack of Google WiFi and am super happy. We get strong signal everywhere in the house and back yard. I am able to monitor my network from my cell phone and pause the kids devices when they should not be on the internet and can prioritize other devices when my wife or I need more bandwidth than the Xbox. It was super easy to set up and provides amazing coverage. I can review historic bandwidth usage on all devices to see which ones are demanding more bandwidth than others.

The Google WiFi Mesh Net was expensive but so worth it! BestBuy store price was same as Google Store online and was immediately available to me. Cable TV costs are rising too fast so it was time to try streaming only. A single WiFi router didn't cover my house well and the Range Extender I used really reduced speed at remote points. The 3 point Google Wifi covered the entire house at full speed. The controls with Google WiFi simplify setup, monitoring and WiFi point placement. With high speed in place, I was able to replace older DVDs with newer (but inexpensive) WiFi BluRays and combine with existing ChromeCasts to stream from multiple sources to (or from) phones, tablets, Chromebooks, audio receivers, and screens. Streaming works fine on this end but sometimes the source gets jammed up somewhere along the way. I can stream other sources at that time so appears to be at the origin and not the ISP but not enough data to draw a conclusion. I am finding my way with streaming; missing a few shows (live sports is a challenge) but discovering some hidden gems in Amazon Prime Video. I added one subscription (CBS) and paid the extra $3/mo to skip commercials. Really liking that. New indoor antennas provide surprisingly good pictures, too.

I live in a 2000ish square foot home. I use WiFi to stream video primarily, but also have several iot things running, a few light switches, nest doorbell, Google home speakers, and a Rachio sprinkler in the garage. I knew I wouldn’t need 3, but I thought I might need 2 routers to get coverage everywhere, but they don’t sell a two pack in this model, so I decided to buy a single one with the expectation that I may end up exchanging the single router for a three pack. Just one router was plenty to cover the whole house including all the way out to the garage for whatever coverage the rachio needs. Setup was simple and straight forward and I’m streaming on all of my TVs with no problems or buffering.

    Best Wireless for Family Home

Had to purchase a new router for family home that would be easy for my family to manage and this was it. It took only a few minutes to install the App and configure the devices. The fact that it comes with three access points means it could provide full coverage from the basement to the 2nd floor without a problem. Speed tests proved to be at least 10x faster even at the farthest corners of the house that before with the previous Asus router. Also, the pods and small and unobtrusive enough that my Mom didn't mind them being distributed around the house. Best part about the performance of these routers is that they act as a single unified network and distribute speed across all devices and that makes for a more consistent connection. Was it support over 15 connected devices.

The hardest part about transitioning from the Xfinity supplied router and this one was giving Xfinity my new wired router info. Google makes this WiFi router set up seemless. It doesn't hassle with needing any info about the wired router, and all of your other google devices will easily connect. Very nice to have uninterrupted wireless in our home.

This router is very exceptional. I would recommend this to anyone with WiFi. I don’t have a large place so I only have one WiFi point but it is great!! It’s very easy to set up with step by step instructions. I used to have netgear and am so happy i switched. You can control the WiFi from your phone and can see how much data is being used at any given time and which devices are connected. It gives you much more control than netgear (at least my dated router). The internet speed is also spectacular. I went from 25mbps download and 8mbps upload (netgear) to 94mbps download and 11mbps upload (google) just by switching the router. I’m very happy with this and I’m most certain you will be too. I can stream 4K without any buffering or quality issues too! Highly recommended!

This mesh solution worked out nicely. What you don't see on the package, however, is that you'll need to be sure each router device is within 30 feet of another, especially if going through thick walls or floors. So I initially bought one 3-pack since it is supposed to support up to 4000 square feet. However, since my home is 3750 square feet but a long ranch style layout, I had to buy a second set of 3. For that reason alone I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Also - the system maxes out at 6 router devices per mesh, so this may not work as well for houses with more than 5000 square feet.

I tried Netgear Orbi, after a few weeks an update downloaded and VPN stopped working and I had to restart almost daily. Then I tried Velop and needed to buy an extra node (4 in total), it conflicted with Disney circle even after I changed the settings. Google took 10 minutes to set up and has been working flawlessly!!! Beautiful pieces of equipment.

I NEEDED SERVICE THROUGHT THE HOUSE. Hm has 3 floors. I never had good range on the 3rd floor, SLOW and outside in yard. Did some research and asked computer tech what he thought. pricy but effective. I happened to have an iPhone & Ipad which you will need or another device to install to your wifi. computer wont do for installation. I am not techie so I had someone do it, which they said was fairly easy if you have basic knowledge of computer terms. NOW I have total wifi all over the house and way outside range. I cant be happier! place one device in the center of each floor. it also acts like a night light.(perk they don't mention) no problem with speed, have 14 items that are running through the wifi and have had it now a couple of months. NO PROBLEMS! OH YEA BOUGHT IT ON SALE!
