Great WiFi Router/Extender
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed WiFi in my shop for a sprinkler controller and a My Q garage door opener. I had almost no signal out there. I purchased a set of three of these and spaced them out and now I have plenty of signal to operate both of these devices! I like them.

Good things come in threes!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Google Wifi Ac1200 Dual-band Whole Home Wi-fi System is fast, clean, and effective! Whether you have a small home or large office, this 3-pack is just the ticket. It provides blazing fast speeds that can keep up with any of your wifi demands, yet communicates well between the pods to help ensure seamless internet access with no drops or downtime. Pros - Easy to set up - Google reliability - Uses current technology (USB-C) - Google App works for both Android and iPhone - Fast and Reliable - Cost is on par for similar products but covers a larger area with the 3-pack Cons - Requires a power socket available at each location for pods (can be difficult if you don't use a power strip) - Uses the USB-C (not everyone is using this type of connect yet so it may be unusual for some people) - Cost can be high if you don't need 3 units, consider the 1 pack if you are trying to cover a smaller area.

Google 3 pack mesh system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coverage has been very good with the google mesh system. This system allows for devices to connect to different "routers" to speed up internet connection and connectivity. Also suggest going on Amazon and purchasing google mesh system holders to conceal cords and plug into the wall.

A simple smaller way to provide a great network
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So let me just get this out of the way, if you are looking for a WiFi solution and want something that's simple to use, simple to set up, not obnoxious to look at and provides excellent speeds then look no further, you have found it. This is not the tinkerers router, its not for the person who wants to flash custom firmware, tweak this and tweak that, what this is... Is a very simple and very efficient router or routers if you have the 3 pack like im reviewing. Packaging is simple and very Google, it comes with the hubs, chargers and an Ethernet cable, very simple. Also in the box is a brief start guide. Now to set this up you will need an Android or iOS device, you cannot set this up with a PC so be warned. Once you have set your hubs up in the place or places you wish to have them you simply download the app for your device and load it up, it will look for the device and you can set up from there using your Gmail details, its really that simple. The hubs are not like your traditional router, they are not big, bulky with a plethora of flashing lights, they are small white units with a soft white glow to let you know its working, that soft white will change to orange if no connection is found from your modem. they are small and could almost be mistaken for an air freshener and that for me is great, they blend in with your home unlike most routers. Now for the usage, simply its been fantastic, i have a PS4 Pro, Xbox One S, PS3, Wii, 3 FireSticks, a Mi Box, 2 Apple TV's and 2 Roku's, 3 TV's, 2 iMacs, an iPad, a Galaxy Tab S2, an iPhone 7, 7 Plus and S7 Edge and Playstation TV connected and it doesnt bog down, many of these devices are being used at once. the Google Wifi has AC1200 2x2 Wave 2 capabilities and supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz 802.11a/b/g/n/ac networking. Setting up the WiFi system is done through Google’s new WiFi app for iOS/ Android. The app walks you through setting up a new network, naming it, securing it with a password, and placing the WiFi units throughout your home. It also lets you check your network speeds, from both your ISP to the modem and from Google Wifi to your device, and the strength of signal between each node. Google’s Network Assist feature will provide tips on how to improve performance by moving a unit to a different location or will tell you when the internet from your ISP is not functioning. I have been able to game and stream UHD content on all hubs with no issues, its worked extremely well. Its prices really well too for a Mesh system, others do go for over $100 more and at $129 for a single unit i personally think its a grea deal. If you want a system that you can set up in minutes... like less than 10 minutes, something that's clean and easy to use, looks good and blends in to your home then this is for you, its a great simple effective way to have a strong network throughout your home and office Would i recommend it? YES! its now my home network and will stay this way for the foreseeable future

Crashed Internet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Day 1 was 5 star rating, today 0 star rating! Set up was a breeze worked for almost a week. Says I was getting 27-29 mbps download better than the 21 before hook up. Then overnight no internet signal. Did factory reset per support website and nothing. Contacted Google customer support on phone for over 3 hours and she had me disable wi fi on AT&T modem and could only get one of three points to work. Setup says two other points too far from main point, move closer even though all three of them are less than 5 inches to each other. Contacted Best Buy Geek Squad and agent was arrogant, cocky, and interrupted a lot when trying to explain ultimately telling me AT&T giving me a weak signal, even after I told him it worked fine for less than a week. Been without internet for 2 days waiting on AT&T to get internet back up and running.

Incredible coverage. No more lags
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This system is being used in my 2,000 square foot house. I purchased the 3 pack since it was a better value and recommended by the guy I talked to at my local best buy. I am using this with Comcast cable internet. I also purchased the surfboard sb6190 cable modem. So I have eliminated my need to pay 10$ a month rental fee for slow equipment from Comcast. It was a modem router combo. I have basic internet so I asked the best buy guy if my speed would increase. He said absolutely. I was still skeptical. I called Comcast to activate my new modem and eliminate the rental combo. A half hour later my new modem was ready to go. Setting up Google WiFi was a dream. It was so easy and it walks you through everything! My speed tests on my network were topping out at 40mbps with the rented equipment from Comcast. After setting up my Google WiFi 3 pack, my speeds have increased to 115mbps!!! I am amazed and blown away that I have nearly tripled my speeds with the same exact internet service I've always had. No more page hang ups and laying sitting streaming videos. I am a cord cutter and use apple TV, Roku, Hulu, Netflix, Amazon video, and DirecTV now. Everything just works and the performance is stellar. Google did a fantastic job on this system. I don't normally write reviews for anything, I am going to tell all my friends how awesome this setup is. My prayers for flawless internet have been answered and coverage is excellent throughout my home. I can even pause the kids devices and stop the WiFi whenever it's dinner time or they misbehave. Excellent purchase. I am floored. Attached is a photo of my internet speeds.

WIfi router works but has MAJOR Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this device for just over a year. The good: With setup everything went pretty smoothly, and the device does have some nice features to prevent certain family members from connecting to WIFI at the flip of a switch. Allows you to monitor bandwidth usage (both current pipe use and use over time) When the device works, it does a good job and WiFi is carried throughout our condo without issue. The bad: The router is handicapped to restrict management or setup ONLY from a mobile phone. Thus if your phone is damaged, unless you have another individual who is assigned as an administrator with their phone you are forced to reset the router and completely setup all over again. (It takes anywhere from 30 to 75 minutes to do the setup) If the phone is discharged, you will have to wait until you phone is charged enough to connect to the router. If you try to use a regular computer laptop or desktop and type the IP of the router you get a message telling you that a mobile phone is needed to setup or manage the device. The UGLY: This is the most irritating part of this device. If you have a blip in your internet connection. (such as Comcast is doing upgrades in our area so every 2 or 3 days there is an outage of 2 or 3 hours between 2 and 5 am) The problem is that when the connection is restored my cable modem shows all is well but the router says "no connection" try to restart from the phone and after 5 to 8 minute delay the router decides to restart (why the delay? who knows) Then it comes back to the same "no connection" So I tried to restart the modem and router together. "no connection" So I had to climb up to the top of our bookshelf and unplug the router and plug it back in. Easier said than done. The power plug is a "micro" usb and is placed in a spot where between 2 ethernet plugs and it's impossible to get normal fingers to grasp the plug to get it in the bottom of the device! As a result you have to hold the end of the wire and play until it gets into the micro usb slot. (The power cord is plugged into an outlet behind the bookshelf. So reaching it would involve removing a number of large books and crawling under to unplug the wifi router.) It may say "no connection" after this process as well and then 10 or 15 minutes later it suddenly connects. There is no reason I can tell why it can't see the connection when the cable modem shows connected or why I have to unplug this router (with it often still saying no connection, then changing it's mind a substantial time later) I attached a copy of the area you are expected to plug the wire into to illustrate how absurd it is.

Great coverage for whole house!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Google Home Wi-Fi system to see if it would help boost the signal in my house in other rooms. I was using a Linksys router and it was great in the room I had it hooked up in but I was loosing speed across my house. We are paying for 100 MBPS speed but was only getting that in the room the router was in. Due to the configuration of my house and walls - I had tried many an extender and it worked sometimes - but not on a consistent basis. I was able to unpack the Google Wi-Fi system and get it up and going in less than 10 minutes. I have placed one in my office (where the cable modem is), one in my living room and one in the master bedroom. I was immediately able to get over 100 MBPS speed on the one in the office. After a call to the cable company - they were able to bridge? (not quite sure if this is the correct term) the new router and I was able to get those speeds in all of the rooms. Since I installed the Google Wi-FI - my son has not complained once about his X-box signal dropping. We currently have over 15 wireless products in our home and they are working great on all of them. I especially like the app that makes it very easy to configure and share your password, see your connected devices, etc. These are definitely way nicer to look at than the big honking blue linksys router too. Takes up less room and blends in more naturally.

Google Wi-Fi did the job and over delivered!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have spent literally many, many hundreds of dollars trying to get Wi-Fi to work in our 3,900 sq. ft. home since we moved in 11 years ago. My kids would taunt me and complain the Wi-Fi wasn’t working in the basement, their bedrooms, it was unstable, works slow, doesn’t work at all. I tried different routers (antennae, no antennae), upgraded my modem, moved the location several times. The last thing I tried was an expensive combo modem/router that was over $200! I had the cable company put in all new coax from the box to our hookup. I replaced the cable inside the house. I tried 4-5 different extenders. They were fussy, hard to work with, worked and then stopped working- especially when I was out of town traveling. (The kids describe themselves as computer experts but were helpless on the Wi-Fi issue). So I tried Google Wi-Fi. I bought them a couple weeks before Christmas, but didn’t set the time aside to set them up until the 23rd. I actually bought the 3 pack and a separate additional 4th unit that I assumed I would need for the bedrooms upstairs. It took me 10 minutes to set them all up. Soooo easy! The speed is incredible- my cellular is 25 MBS, the WoW internet I buy is 60 MBS. But I consistently get almost 70 MBS wirelessly throughout my entire house. (I don’t know why or how that’s possible as a speed test on a wired laptop goes right to 60 MBS as advertised. I put one in the 1st Floor Office at one end of the house where the cable comes in the house, another also on the 1st floor at the other end of the house in the family room and the 3rd in the basement. I checked the upstairs just to make sure I needed the 4th unit which I assumed I would need and had fully planned on installing. Luckily I did a Speed test before opening the 4th unit. It was as fast as the entire rest of the house. I kept the 4th unit unopened for another week just to be sure. It’s now been over 2 weeks and I am a VERY happy camper! My wife just shrugged when I put in the latest system. BUT, last night she commented that whatever I did, the internet is lightning fast- which is exactly what the Google Wi-Fi ap told me when I did a test- see the photo I added to my review. My oldest son said the Internet speed is nutz! My second son commented that the Wi-Fi is now “sick!” (Apparently that is high praise). It has been rock solid, its fast as I could ever have hoped for and I couldn’t be happier. I know there are similar mesh type products, but I tried Google based on the reviews. You know I'm happy as this is the first time I took time out of my life to review anything, ever! I recommend it to anybody and wish Google Wi-Fi existed when we first moved in. A really great product that actually over deliver as far as I'm concerned!
