Good mesh, bad for home automation

Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: * Easy to set up * Good granular controls per device * Good coverage * Stable over long period of time (2 years) Cons: * Must be your gateway router for easy setup, otherwise things get complicated quickly * Router settings are pretty much non-existent, just a few "advanced" options * CREATES ENORMOUS HEADACHE WITH CONNECTING SMART HOME DEVICES. This is because it had both 2.5gHz and 5gHz bands that auto-sense but cannot be disabled. Many (most?) Home Automation devices require 2.5gHz only and will sit and spin forever trying to connect.

Decent wifi - annoying configuration

The setup is supposed to be easy "scan QR codes..." but it's more annoying than anything. I suppose if you have never really setup a network it's easier than if you bring experience.

Fast, Secure, easy to use
