Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

My expectation was not met by this Google Wi-fi Router AC1200. My Frontier Router Wi-Fi was not reaching enough my Ring Floodlight Camera installed outside of my house by the front door so I purchased this Google Wifi AC1200 and connected it to my Frontier Router to serve as a Wifi booster but it did not work that good.

I am going to keep this short, as I am in a sea of over 8000 reviews! Here’s what I think might help you decide: * I have cable internet through Windstream with wired speed up to 100 mbps and our modem sits on the main level. The signal from the Windstream modem/router has been sometimes fast (101 mbps), sometimes slow (14 mbps), always a frustration. With an extender, the extender network would always drop, causing our Arlo cameras to go offline. When we went upstairs, we had to switch networks manually. *Our house is 3 levels, 3800 sq ft and we need WiFi on every level. *We have tried the Netgear Nighthawk Router, an Amazon wifi extender and the Nighthawk wifi extender with inconsistent connections. All went back. *We run the following on our network: 3 FireTVs, 1 Facebook Portal, 6 Echos, 6 TP link plugs, 26 Lutron Caseta plugs and wall switches, 2 laptops, 2 cell phones, 1 iPad, an Arlo Camera system, the Ring Doorbell and 2 ecobee4’s. Bottom Line: super easy set up, 4 bars through the house, full 100 mbps so far with each test, no switching networks as we move around, the ability to have the wired connections for FireTV, Lutron Bridge and Arlo where I want them (hidden) :) and NO dropped internet. The only downside I have run into is that my TPlink plugs require a 2.4 g network and when I was reconnecting, I couldn’t connect to the Google network. I went back to my Windstream setting and turned the 2.4 signal back on. I might try support if I notice any issues. BOTTOM LINE: WIFI PROBLEM SOLVED! Thank you again, Google! ;)
