Plug the first unit in to the wall and modem, download the app, snap a picture, choose a network name and password then surf. For larger areas, adding additional access points to create a mesh network is just as easy using the app. I have one unit placed on each floor of my town home and have an excellent signal and as fast or faster wireless throughput as I’ve ever had, including the front and back yards. The Google Home Wi-Fi system is most likely the simplest networking product you can get. This also might be considered its biggest downside. Power users may have difficulty configuring their network as the only way to configure the router/s are through the app. The router automatically chooses 2.4GHz or 5GHz and the only way to tell is through the app. Pros: Super simple to set up Amazing coverage Cons: Documentation – the only instructions are via the app and have been combined with the last generation on-hub which has features the new units do not. Lack of advanced network settings Conclusion: The Google Home Wi-Fi system is an easy to install router that makes it super easy to expand your network or fix signal issues in larger, more difficult spaces.

Icalled the geek squad to fix the installation. They found that the router was defective. They installed a new 3 pac unit. It is working well. I have a strong wifi signal in all areas of my home.

You could be sitting right next to the Google Wi-Fi where it's hooked into the modem and still not get service.
