Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

Seems to work inside the house but not as good as I would have liked. I have ring floodlights/camera very close but that didn’t improve that much.

Google - Google Wifi AC1200 Dual-Band Mesh Wi-Fi Router - White Enjoy a consistent connection to the web with this Google Wi-Fi setup. The single access point is ideal for use in smaller homes of less than 1,500 square feet, giving you the ability to connect your... NOT TRUE! Our house is 1200 sq. ft. rambler We installed the single google mesh with no problem, that was wonderful, to replace an older Cisco router. We were very impressed. But after several days, and into the second t week I noticed my Samsung phone was using data even though I was in the home and it said wifi was connected. Unfortunately, the signal was not strong enough to reach my living room or kitchen and bedroom where I usually used my phone. This NEVER happened before with my other router. Verizon gave me an extra gig for my two weeks remaining. I had been going through data using it in my home ...should not have happened. We luckily were able to uninstall the google and get it back to Best B uy on the final day of the 14 day return policy. Since we reinstalled the original cisco router I have had no problem and my data usage has returned to normal and the signal is strong and adequate. Other customers should be warned about this. They must keep an eye on their data to make sure it is able to access the wifi completely.

We didn’t have an opportunity to use purchased Google Mesh Wify untill to late to return. Our loss, cables missing and none of the nodes (units) connect to the network. It was obviously a returned item, sold as new! Lesson here, don’t be trusting even at what we considered a reputable store. We’ve done business with Best Buy for over 20 years!

I'm a fan of pretty much any product that Google has, so when I got the opportunity to acquire this wi-fi system, I couldn't resist. Simplicity of setup: The initial set up took me about 10 minutes. This was due to having to remove my old wi-fi network, and disabling my initial wi-fi router/extender. To install, it was as simple as plugging the unit in, and downloading an app from the Google Play store. The phone guided me through the steps for setup. Additionally, the app guided me through the process of setting up my additional wi-fi points. The entire process took about 15 minutes. Once set up, it was easy to get my devices on the network (TV, tablet, phone, Xbox, etc). Use: I live in a 3500 sq. ft. home, and Google wi-fi easily covers all of the areas downstairs and upstairs. Signal strength is always full, regardless of which room I am in. Features: I especially like the family feature, that allows me to disable certain devices in the evening, so that my kids aren't tempted to watch videos or play games when they go to bed, or, more importantly, during dinner. It's as easy as opening up the app, and turning the feature on. Overall: I would highly recommend this system to anyone reading this, or, even my friends. It was just really easy to set up, and in my opinion, another home run for Google. The only wires are the plugs, and the cable to the router on the main unit. The devices are small and even look stylish, as if they are part of the decor. The set up was easy, and didn't require a PC to complete. I set everything up with the app on my phone. How's that for simplicity?

Putting these more than 20 feet apart reduces wifi speed significantly. As long as you can keep them within 20 feet of each other, they are OK.

This unit does keep its speeds up to 160 up/down however it can’t handle multiple devices at one time. Everything slows down to dial up speeds. Plus it does have issues with iPads and iPhones running at the same time. I was hoping it would work as advertised but didn’t, taking back to store.

I had been using a Netgear nighthawk since it came out. The signal struggled to reach even some rooms on the same floor of my house. The nighthawk stopped working one day, and I drove to best buy and picked up the Google WiFi 3 pack, mostly because it was relatively cheap compared to the other mesh systems. Note: I'm a wireless/network engineer by day. My house is old with thick walls. The setup was seamless and extremely easy. The packaging was beautiful. I put 2 units on the ground floor and one upstairs. My whole house (~2000 sq ft) is now blanketed in glorious WiFi that keeps up with my internet connection. I spent a couple of hours after installation doing a wireless survey of the house. My SNR never really dropped below 25, which is outstanding compared to the previous single AP/router solution. I have no complaints. The entire system works like it should. The sophistication of some of what it does for you (switching channels on the fly in response to interference) is fantastic. If you want wireless that just works and don't want to fiddle with nerd knobs to make it work, buy this one.

Using Comcast Xfinity and needed something that would accommodate my desire to manage devices proactively (read kids use) of the network with range. Xfinity router isn't good enough for a large home. I have tried Orbi and ran into some issues and the app is not nearly as user friendly and feature rich as Google's product. Returned the Orbi and have deployed this solution. A ton of flexibility. The only drawback thus far is the lack of ethernet ports on the back of the unit to connect other wired devices (Sonos etc.). I will buy a switch to cover that. Otherwise, impressive with strong speeds. *Note that I replaced my original Apple Airport Base Station/Expresses. The Orbi solution was an option but have returned it.

I returned these for the Orbi--the admin interface on the Google Wifi is really limited, and doesn't allow for much in the way of customization. Network speeds also weren't great when connected to satellites versus the Orbi. My only hope is that Netgear continues to support it and not ditch older models for Wifi 6. Had to stop using a Nighthawk for this reason.
