Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

I purchased the google wifi back in 2019 and it worked well. The three units powerfully covered my home in strong wifi. Then recently after a update in Nov 2019, i started facing connection issues where the wifi would just drop all of a sudden. It’s been very inconsistent. I contact the support team numerous times and they were no help. They concluded that my unit had unwanted errors, but then they said they couldn’t do anything to help. It’s not worth your money, or your time every time it stops working.

    Great Router

I needed to replace my old Belkin router as it was outdated and couldn't keep up with the WIFI demands of our house. I purchased a single Google WIFI router to replace it. I am not using it for a mesh network so I can't comment on that. But using it for a regular WIFI router has been great. The setup was rather simple. You download the Google WIFI app to your phone and it walks you through the setup. Not having to log in to the router as an admin and tweak settings I don't understand was great. I set it up using my old network name and password, so after the setup process was complete all my devices connected to it automatically with no issues. I have a 2600 SF home. It is two stories. It says the coverage is between 500-1500 SF. I have it set up on the first floor on the far end of one house in the living room. My son has an Xbox One in his room on the 2nd floor on the far opposite side of the house. It connects with no issue and gets a good signal. I can also get things to connect in the basement with no issue. We have 3 kids, so we have lots of devices. We do our TV through Roku and have work computers. So sometimes we have 10 devices connected at once, and haven't had any issue with them performing how we want. The app is also great. You can monitor the status of the network from anywhere, pause the signal to specific devices, prioritize certain devices over others. It's a great product and works fantastic for a simple home setup with lots of devices.

Our home is foam concrete block construction. I was hoping that a mesh network would give me WIFI across my home. It only covered 66%. I tried moving the units around but the concrete seems to block it too much.

Setting up the Google Wifi system is very straight forward and will be appreciated by most every user. Had my 3 units up and running within 15 minutes of pulling them out of the box. They are sleek and white in color to match many of the new Smart Home appliances on the market. Once up and running it was clear to see that they have filled in many of the weaker signal spots that were not well supported by my previous WiFi setup. I now have covering through out my home and even out onto the patio and decks. If you are looking for a low-profile but high-powered and cool looking wifi solution that's easy to setup...then the Google WiFi AC1200 System is for you!

Didn’t like that the WiFi doesn’t have any sort of bridge mode or any access point only mode. Can’t use with existing router without having a double NAT. I went with ubiquity uap ac.

Does not work well with Xfinity wireless wifi - multiple pieces to get all of them to talk to one another. Turned out we truly just needed to have Xfinity pay us a visit and run a new line

So this product let's you expand your Wi-Fi for your home. You can buy 1,2 or 3 of the Wi-Fi towers they are little and very clean looking. Depending on the size of your house you want to read the package to see how many you should buy 1 tower will cover 500-1500 sq.ft 2 towers 1500-3000 sq.ft and 3 towers 3000-4500 sq.ft. This is simple to set up and the Google app makes it easy to find the perfect spot to place the device. I did have some dead spots out on my deck and this has taken care of the issue i do have a basement and works great in the rooms that i have in it. This is a great product easy install and instructions great app.

Live in a 5000 SF house and coverage was good for about half the house. Speed was no better than my 3 year old wifi router in majority of the house.

Do lots of homework first before getting invested in these. You will need more pods than you imagine, they are only good if they are within @ 25 feet of each other

I have bad wifi reception in my house and was told this would solve my problem. It did not. Worked now and then, but not always. Bought a regular wifi extender and that worked for less money.

I needed a router with range (have an apartment above my garage behind the house). After researching, I went to Best Buy #440 Bowling Green,KY. After asking 2 associates for help and being ignored, I FINALLY got some help. Anyway,on to this product. Set up is SUPER EASY. Download the app (I did it on my phone) and plug in the power cord and internet cable. Then set up your second point, then third. I was up and running within 15 minutes. Everywhere in the house and apartment has a STRONG signal. The apartment is probably 125-150' behind the house, and is above the garage. I have my main point in the office in the house, second point is set up in dining room(which is the closet room to the apartment) and the third is in the apartment. With the app,you can kick off any device that's connected to your network. You can also set up "family time" so that no device(or certain devices) can connect. Great if you have kids so you know they aren't up playing games instead of doing homework. If you need RANGE on your network (and ease of installation with some great perks), just go ahead and buy this. Don't go for the router with 4-6 antennas. For the same price,or a little bit more, you can get this and be guaranteed you'll have the range and signal strength to do whatever you need.

Ran great for months, then suddenly started dropping wifi connections randomly for about 10s. Probably a firmware update. Been awful for months, tried a Nest that is behaving similar. Google does nothing to mitigate the problems. Cannot write this review without losing connection, had to switch to LTE to complete. Will be returning the Nest shortly and get an Eero system which many Google WiFi owners had to do for piece of mind.

This is an elegant set of connected routers, but they didn’t extend the signal far enough for my purpose. I had to return this item and go with a router and extender.
