This is a game changer for consumers.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a game changer for consumers.Google Wi-Fi is a breeze to set up. I saw an instant increase in speed. I would strongly recommend it for anyone experiencing challenges getting or staying on their Wi-Fi. Works well at about 3000 ft.². If I had one ask it would to have more advanced options Like Mac filtering and VPN. I still think for the cost you can’t go wrong.

Did not work with my Verizon router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does its own DHCP and will not work if you disabled it. They would need to be wired eliminating the benefit. Took it back.

Excellent for Regular Folks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an 1800 sq ft. condo. It's not super large, but very long and narrow. I'm paying for about 100mbps of upload speed from Xfinity. In the front of my house where the router is located, I was getting great signal. In the back of my house-pure trash, nothing. In any event, I tried an extender to repeat the signal. I tried another mesh system that was just slightly cheaper, but would drop the signal. Finally, I decided to bite the bullet and try the Google Mesh system, which still isn't as expensive as others, but a commitment nonetheless. I AM AMAZED. I've dealt with terrible, spotty internet for about 18 months in my place, and today, I am writing this review at the very back of my home, watching Netflix and very happy. The set up was ridiculously easy on your smartphone. Google takes all the guess work out of installation. I should note that I also changed my modem and am no longer using the Xfinity provided device, so I do not have experience working with their gateway. If you're an average person working from home, trying to watch some streaming channel every now and again, or simply need your internet to work in more than one part of your house, this is amazing. I went from getting nothing in my dead zones, to getting like 40-60mbps. Amazing. It's not a perfect replica, but it's darn better than what I had.

Initial setup issues, but product works great.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a lot of research, I was really excited to buy this Google Wifi mesh system in order to upgrade my old wireless N600 router which wasn't giving me my maximum speeds unless I was sitting right next to it. We have many devices in our home, so it was time to upgrade. Also, I'm looking forward to piece together a smart home over time, and I wanted a solid foundation of wifi speed, range, and dependability. After returning home from the store and unboxing the units, I downloaded the app, signed into my google account, plugged in the first wifi point, and my phone found the point with no issues. The next step is to plug in the Ethernet cable which I did promptly (yes, into the correct port). Honestly, it can’t get more simple. However, the app could not find my internet signal. The app tells you not to worry as this is common, and then it walks you through a series of steps to unplug the modem, unplug the wifi point, plug in the modem again (reboot), etc. ... with time lags in between some of those steps. Unfortunately, my phone/app could not find the internet signal. I probably attempted five different times with the same result. There was a step recommended at one point to call my ISP to boost the signal, but I wasn't ready to do that yet. Finally, after those several attempts, I had success. My internet speeds (plugged in) are around 60-65 mbps where I live, and my previous wireless system (N600) could get me those highest speeds only if I was sitting right fairly close to the device. Otherwise, I was averaging somewhere between 8-20 mbps download speeds depending on where I was in the house. With this new Google Wifi system, I'm at 65 mbps download speeds consistently regardless of where I am in my house. I think out of 20 tests in different rooms/corners, the lowest speed I had was 50 mbps, and that was just one time which I'm almost considering a fluke based on the consistency of 65 mbps for all other tests. Fire TV and Roku in different rooms have worked flawlessly ... no lag times. The other 10+ devices in my home are working great. In summary, while I felt some frustrations during the setup, I've been very impressed with the system. The wifi points look great, and they perform even better. 5 stars.

Great Google Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product. I bought the three pack since my house is 2500 square feet and one wouldn't be enough. I placed one pod on each level of my house (basement, 1st floor and 2nd floor). Set up was extremely easy and the app walked you through everything. I like having the ability to check my internet usage for all of my devices from my phone. I also really like having the ability to control wifi access to all devices. I currently have it set up where my boys' tablets drop wifi at a certain time at night and does not turn back on until the next morning. The one downside is that each pod only has 2 ethernet ports. The first one you install uses one to connect to the modem. The other pods can be placed anywhere and only need to be plugged in for power. This means if you buy just one, you will only have one ethernet port to plug directly into and everything else will use wifi. If you buy the three pack, you will end up getting 5 total ethernet ports to use. The good thing though is that the google wifi pods seems to run fast wifi internet so even though I don't have as many devices that are wired connections, I still feel like all of them have fast wifi internet. This is a great product.
