Customers are saying
Customers frequently mention the ease of use, excellent coverage, and straightforward setup of the Google Wifi AC1200 system. Many also praise the improved signal strength and extended range, resulting in better overall performance. While some users experienced connectivity challenges, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns. A few customers noted the system's higher price point.

Extremely Easy Setup with Some Shortcomings
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. From start to finish the router and all three mesh points were fully setup and broadcasting in less than 10 minutes. Simply plug in the USB C power adaptor in each unit and place in your desired location. Connect one unit to your modem and download the app. Follow the onscreen instructions and you are done. It really was that simple. Overall I have been pleased with this system. My house has full strength WiFI coverage from top to bottom with no dead zones. Any device connected to your network will automatically choose the hub with the strongest signal as well as pick the optimal frequency to provide you with the best possible connection to the network. The connection quality between my devices and this system have been comparable to my other high-end routers on my network. One downfall to this system is the lack of a web interface, thus everything must be done through the app, which can be downloaded from both the apple app store and android play. Fortunately, the app is very intuitive and extremely easy to use and as a bonus enables you to manage and monitor your network from anywhere in the world with no additional setup steps. Because of the simplicity of this system, many advanced functions available on comparable systems are not available. Your network will be limited to the 192.168.86.XX IP range. So if you plan on integrating with your existing network you will need to reconfigure every other device on your network because it is not possible to change IP address of this system; which may be a dealbreaker for some. This system also lacks the ability to permanently establish priority devices. Priority settings are limited to time intervals with the maximum of 4hrs. Pros: (+1 for each item listed) Easy Setup < 10 minutes Fast network speeds Full coverage - No dead zones Compact and contemporary design. Easy to use app Easy to upgrade Automatic updates Cons:(-1 for each item listed) No web interface Unable to change IP and Subnet Tempory QoS setting Overall rating: +4 Summary: If you are looking for a router that just works with very little effort then this is the system to choose. However if you are looking for more control over your network you may want to consider alternate devices.

Fast, seamless, google dns, love it all
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m a network technician and I’ve had a few problems needing to constantly tinker with internet routers. Always something that needs changed in order for processes to work correctly. This simple mesh system changed that. 10-15 minutes to setup the 3 pack. Only downside is no usb or support for the usb on the OnHub routers. Google 24/7 support is easy and they work quick to fix any issues for you. You can remotely access your network from your google account on any device. These things are fast and my letency is low in any connection. I love these and think they’re well worth every penny. If OnHub’s ports get activated to use NAS or print server support, I’d say this system would be near flawless. (Definitely for someone who wants things to just work, but not needing to do much advanced routing).

Really good wireless mesh, but not perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted this to more thoroughly cover my 3500 sq ft tri-level home with Wi-Fi, and it has done that very well (my previous system was old and hodge-podged together). It was easy to set up and use - others have reviewed that in detail. I am not a power user, but I have noticed one thing repeatedly. Once in a while while browsing the internet *on my laptop*, I'll try to go to a page and it will hang part way through, and be hung for many seconds (when three response 3 minutes earlier was quite fast). I'll be sitting there watching the Chrome spinning arrow, and will go to the Google Wifi App *on my phone*, and run the three Network checks: 1) Test internet, 2) Test mesh, 3) Test Wi-Fi. Every time, the instant I start the Test mesh test, my laptop Chrome browser will all of a sudden instantly display the page it had been spinning on, and goes back to being fast from then on. This is very strange, but has happened too many times to be coincidence... Certainly not a deal breaker, but something is not quite right... My only other concern is that Google can take control of my network at any time of course, and can see any traffic, etc., that I don't have end-to-end encryption on... sigh... The product has worked very very well beyond that. I am happy with it, would purchase it again, and would recommend it to others.

Works great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These devices work great for us and our home! Our internet connection is excellent all throughout each level of the house. It's super easy to set up and the app is a great tool. However, it is a little touchy at time, but I'm assuming it will improve over time. The devices themselves are very sleek and modern looking. We're very satisfied.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am amazed with this product. Nothing ever goes this smoothly when installing something! It was too easy! My home wi-fi at my base router was 50 up and 50 down, but my extender was only giving me about 10 either way. This was fine for general surfing, but when I got an Apple TV and ran it on my extender it was slow, if not inoperable. I went to Best Buy and was convinced that a mesh network was what I would need. I bought this three-pack and went home to install. after loading the installation app I was finished with all three units operating in about 10 minutes. I now have speeds all over the house that are equal to my base router. I cannot give any greater praise for this product. Buy it, you won’t be sorry!

Ex-Apple Extreme user...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was sad to learn that Apple was abandoning their router R&D. But the market is now starting to flood with these "mesh" network systems and from what the Google wifi has delivered, I'm pretty happy with it. Preordered this and came to my door the same day it was released. Setup is stupid simple. Download the app and it will walk you through literally everything. I have 150/20 internet service and speeds are always consistent. Haven't had any issues with dropouts or disconnecting. Every once in awhile i believe the system updates from Google so you may notice an internet interruption for short amount of time. But overall I'm very happy with this system, and compared to the other systems, the price/performance is spectacular. Go buy it!

Very Useful for Big Houses
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.*IMPORTANT NOTICE* This is NOT a replacement for Internet Service. This is also NOT a Wifi booster. This product is a Wifi extender that keeps consistency in Wifi strength in the house. I tested one Wifi point for my apartment and noticed no difference in Wifi strength because it was such a small space. I have a router/modem combo and it's already pretty strong. After that test, I set up all 3 Wifi points in a family members 5500 sq. ft. house with multiple dead spots. Instantly the Wifi was consistent throughout the entire house. I love the easy installation and the parental controls from the app is very practical for the kids when you need them off of their phones. Also with the app, you don't have to be on the Wifi to be able to change settings or the password. You can be anywhere! I would definitely recommend this product, but only to those with dead spots in their houses.

Great WiFi for Novice Users
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything about this product is sleek and clean. Google has finally decided to copy some of Apples design sense. After having tried other mesh products (Amplifi, Orbi, and Luma) this stands out as a clear front running in the areas of speed, reliability, and setup. The setup is almost effortless and simple. Once connected everything just works. However here is where the love affair ends. There are no advanced features. If you are familiar with standalone routers from Asus, Netgear, and Linksys you will discover just about every useful feature is missing. Customizable DHCP, Dynamic DNS, IPv6, VPN Server, web management, etc. If you want something that just works and you don't plan to use any feature other than "it just works" then this is the WIFI set for you.

Easiest Wifi setup with great performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After reading reviews from other users, I decided to give Google Wifi a shot. The setup could not have been any easier. I understand technology, but I would trust nearly anyone to set up this system. The Google Wifi App is user friendly and walks you through tips and tricks. The mesh network is a huge upgrade from my Netgear Nighthawk with access point. We now have one network for the entire house and it works seamless. My only negative point would be the number of wired connections. Each puck as two Ethernet ports but my Home Theater setup I have typically used three or four wired connections. Overall, this has a great upgrade. Highly recommend!

Works great... but not with Disney Circle
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Google wifi was the first mesh network system I had tried and it worked just as advertised. The set up was very simple and the coverage to the house worked great. The only issue I had was when I tried to connect my Circle by Disney. After a great deal of frustration I searched the internet and realized that Google has made a router that is incompatible with the Circle because google feels that ARP spoofing (The tech circle uses) is a vulnerability. So I ended up having to return the Google Wifi because the Circle is an important part of keeping our kids safe on the internet. I instead bought Amplifi HD by Ubiquity and while it costs a bit more, the compatibility with Circle was worth it for me. I have ended up liking the Amplify much more in the long run. I really like the fact that the main router has 4 ethernet ports which I was disappointed that there was only one ethernet port on each Google wifi hub. Overall the Amplifi has worked much better for our needs. But I would say that if you are not needing the Circle to work with your router, either one would be a great option.

Fixed all of our Wifi Issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I bought this as a last ditch effort to fix our constant WiFi issues we have in our house. For some background, we have fibre optics internet with ATT at 1000 mbps and our home is 2600 sqft. We need coverage through a three story home, one of those being a basement. Since we have been with ATT (last April 18), we have experienced issue after issue in our home. We are a pretty "techie" family and have many smart home features throughout our house (i.e. Google home devices, Hue smart lights, Ring doorbell, Arlo security, etc). Our internet would constantly drop out and it was hit or miss on whether any of our above items would work. We use smart tvs and always had to reconnect to the internet. If my husband and oldest were on their Xboxes at the same time, one of them would either continuously get kicked off of their game or it would lag the entire time. This happened even in the same room as the router which led us to believe WiFi extenders would be useless. We thought it had to be the router. After being sent a new one (which we have not tested because ATT has no idea where it is), I looked up tons of reviews and decided to give the Google a shot. The guy at Best Buy said we could always return it if it yielded no results. After hooking it up which was relatively fast (I read a lot of negative things with our internet and this system but experienced little issue), we started connecting our devices to our new Google network. We placed one in the basement, one in our office where our router is on the main level, and one upstairs. We are now getting download and upload speeds of 600-800 mbps. My husband was getting tops 12mbps on his Xbox when downloading games and it stayed consistently between 55-60+ yesterday when testing it out after connecting to Google. Nothing has dropped out, kicked anyone off of their games, our televisions are staying connected, and it is working flawlessly. I have played very little on the Google WiFi app, but I did set up parental controls on our kids tablets and gaming consoles. It's nice to be able to pause them or schedule times for them to be restricted from the Internet. I know it has only been one day but we are beyond happy with how much this has fixed our Internet thus far. I will update if there are changes but if you're experiencing constant WiFi issues, I would highly recommend looking into this. We are very happy we took a chance with this mesh system!

Great for set it and forget it users.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was leaning towards the Velop mesh router system, but went with Google Wi-Fi based on price and my needs. While I do tinker with many of my electronics, my router is one that u just kind of hook up and leave. I was ready to return it for the Velop system, if it didnt perform as I'd hoped. But it did! Setup was easy. Not sure if this was correct, but 3 come in the box and under each one is a box containing the respective wires. It seems to me the center one is supposed to be the main point as it comes with am Ethernet wire which is to be used to connect to your router. I downloaded the app and just followed the instructions. It worked flawlessly. I did read other reviews and see how this would not be ideal for an advanced users, but for me it was perfect as I no longer have any dead spots in my home.
