Great upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was running a Cisco router with Comcast service and had nothing but problems. I have lots of smart home devices running including 5 HD cameras and I was constantly dropping service even with 60gps modem speeds. Finally decided it was time to upgrade my router and Google didn’t disappoint. I went from spotty 10mbps download speeds to 70+mbps everywhere in my house. I’ve had no issues with any of my smart home products and the transition was a lot more smooth than I anticipated.

Junk!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just up'ed my service to 200Meg. Needed to get something to deliver that speed. First bought the Netgear AC1900. Didn't work like the sales guy promised it would. When I talked to a different sales guy, he said the Google WiFi would work well for my situation. It would work better than a router and would cost less than the Orbi Mesh and work just as well. Since I have a couple Google Home Mini's that work great, I thought what the heck. Not good advice. The modules would not talk to each other (they were 8-10 feet apart, nothing in-between.). When I could connect to the main hub, it dropped connection to the wire internet about 3/4's of the time. And when it did connect, the download speed was 1.5Meg (Did I mention I have 200Meg service). I've seen a lot electronic devices that I would call bad but, this takes the cake. After taking this back, I talked to our IT guys at work, they have heard nothing but bad stuff about this product. Google (or their partners) should have never released this. I ended up going with the Netgear AC3200 - AHHHHHHHH......... It covers my little house just fine and no dropped packets. By the way, my speed is now 215Meg. Side note: Google WiFi is too "smart" for some locations. You can not manage your own network. "It will do it for you." Maybe that is fine if you have a few devices but with my almost 20 devices, that doesn't fly with me (you can only assign a device to the higher speed up to 4hrs.). Also, it needs to work out of the box. This unit didn't. Again, JUNK!

Great solution
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Thanks to the awesome sales tech, I went out of the store with a working solution to the wifi range problem in my concrete block house. This system allows my full subscription data downlad in all parts of the house and after downloading the app and signing in via google, set up efforts on my part consisted of setting a password and following simple instructions. The cost almost scared me away but the product is worth it! Thank you!

Useless after a week
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Worked perfectly and was easy to set up in first week now it cuts out randomly and won’t reconnect for minutes and don’t let the name fool you it’s not a router it’s a overpriced cheaply made WiFi extender so don’t buy for those of you that don’t have a router or want to replace your router.

Pretty to look at, easy set up BUT only 1 Ethernet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you have other devices you want to run Ethernet connections to (for speed, security etc), forget this device. Only ONE Ethernet connection other than the one you will need to connect it to your modem. So if you want to direct wire your printer, your PC, or create a direct connection to a wireless device (like an older model TiVo without a wireless G device or built in wireless connectivity) you are out of luck with this. Check all the other routers: they all have a minimum of 2-4 Ethernet ports at the back.

Wow!!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is just amazing. No problems with slow WiFi connections anymore. Even outside in the garage, on the patio or beside the street in our front yard. At first I read the reviews and thought it couldn’t be true but decided to give them a try. All I can say is, it’s just awesome to finally get something that actually works as it should and then to top it off, works so well.

Excellent router!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a secondary home, 1200 sq ft condo with the master bedroom on the second floor. We have tried many different routers and extenders without success for a consistent signal. After reading reviews on Google Wifi from BBY website, decided to give it a try. Works very well! Easy to setup and the system provides full signal all throughout the 1200 sq ft. Highly recommend!

Good when it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a set up of 3 google wifi points and at first, it was perfect but things went downhill quickly. This product overall is good but when it comes to the setup or resetting if the wifi goes down it is a pain in the neck to reconnect all of them to the network. I live in a 1300 sqft apartment and it gives me errors such as wifi point not in range when really its only a room away. Do i like it yes but when it stops working its not worth the hassle trying to reset it up spent hours at hand on the phone with customer service and still was not apple to add my last wifi point how annoying.

Great Wifi for our Entire House
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have a 3000 square foot house with thick plaster walls. Our old router could not cover the entire house. The Google AC1200 three pack did the job. We get a strong signal all over the house. In addition, it was a breeze to set up. I was up and going with 25 minutes of opening the the box. Very pleased with this system.

Best coverage I have ever had...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the 3-pack installed in my 3 story house in a dense neighborhood in San Francisco and the coverage is astonishing. I get 250mbps throughout every square foot of my house with a strong signal in my backyard and coverage 50 feet away from my house.

So Google invented a Wi-Fi extender
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got mine got 20 bucks. It is mind boggling people willingly throw away 3 figures for ac1200; technology I had years ago for half that price. The rule holds true: give someone a choice of either educating themselves just a little bit on something new or paying more money for idiot-proof and they choose the expensive ignorant option 9 out of 10 times. It doesn't even have 4 wired ports lol what a joke.

No more deadspots
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My house was full of WiFi dead spots until I got this mesh WiFi system. I positioned all the units across the house and now my WiFi is awesome! Also had parent controls and works with google home!

Worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been through many routers. The Linksys wrt ac1900, Netgear nighthawk, etc. The google wifi has them all beat. I get great wifi speeds in every corner of my two story house now. The ps4 no longer has a lag and pulls a strong connection.

Question about security and use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm desperate for a system that would spot and block data breaches and theft. Nothing I've had is impenetrable by area wifi/data bums . Also using VZW MiFi wifi. Would Google device work with that? ISP options slim with a choice of hughesnet or viasat sat internet or the totally useless crawling CenturyLink with Max speeds of 1.5 mbps--- no kidding!

300mbps down to 1.5mbps
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a nighthawk router before trying out the google wifi. We needed wifi in corners of the house where our one router couldn't reach. So we decided to try out googles wifi system. The concept is awesome, create an expandable network throughout your home if there is a dead spot, add another port. The only bad part.... My download speeds went from 300mbps down to 1.5mbps with this new system. This is on my gaming PC that I have built with a direct connection, not even just over wifi. It's so bad that loading this comment page took over 30 seconds.

Wi-fi Mesh
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great product. The ability to schedule connected devices is a great tool to limit the compulsive Xbox enthusiast's play time.
