Thankfully I was able to dive down and get it before it got too deep ( 15 feet) but it was headed for the bottom for sure.

It does actually float as well as hold the remote for other water activities. I like that the handle is quiet and doesn't rattle much. The loss of the star is that if the pole is extended underwater the tube fills with water and there is no way to get it out.

The clear pole helps when taking selfies, and not seeing much of it. It was on sale and much cheaper than any of the aluminum poles. However, it does not extend as far.

After using the GoPole I believe it was money well spent. Fits easily in a backpack and after two month shows no signs of rust.

Clear Floating Gopro pole

It floats so it's good for using in the water, and the pole part is clear so when Im shooting myself you can hardly see the pole in the picture. Favorite pole mount i used on my recent vacation to Hawaii.

This is what protects your investment in the water in case you let go or it flys out of your hand. No loosing your camera and instead it floats. You definitely want this. Length was great too for snorkeling and getting close up shots.
