This 3-axis lightweight GoPro Fluid Pro AI gimbal ships with a detachable tripod, tension clamp phone mount, screw mount camera bracket, two charging cables, and several small screws and adapters. Everything ships inside the included rigid carrying case and fits perfectly inside their respective foam molded cutouts. I have a GoPro Hero 12 camera that I use with the gimbal along with an iPhone Pro Max 16. Both the camera and phone fasten securely onto the gimbal. Construction quality and durability are impressive. It doesn’t feel delicate or easily breakable.
Setting up the GoPro fluid was easy for the most part, but the process did occasionally test my patience. That’s because the manual provided isn’t the best. It does a passable job of introducing gimbal concepts and instructing how to set up and use the Fluid AI, but the placement of some important setup topics are way in the rear of the manual and some info is seemingly incorrect. Also, some of the illustrations are mirrored compared to the actual device. For example, the manual instructs to attach the AI module and connect the power cord. The AI module ships already attached and it doesn’t require a power cord. There is a reverse charging port on the AI module that I can use to charge my camera or phone with the included USB-C cable, but it does not supply power to the module.
I attached a photo showing the shipping box image versus the illustrated diagram in the instruction manual where you can see that the two images are mirrored. This made the initial balancing slightly confusing because I couldn’t get the arms to match the orientation in the illustration. I assumed I was doing something wrong until it became obvious there was no possible way to match the image orientation. Lastly, whenever I initially powered on the gimbal, it would beep and flash the word “unlock” along with an image of the roll motor. This was followed by an error code and it would then enter sleep mode. I didn’t immediately know which latch to unlock because the message and image were vague. I found the error code all the way in the rear of the manual but had to view an online unboxing video to find out where the tiny roll motor latch was located. I felt a little foolish at how obvious it seemed after I finally found it but it wasn’t exactly intuitive at first to the uninitiated eye. Information about the latch and error or at least a reference to it would have been more helpful in the beginning of the manual with the other setup instructions, especially for those new to using this gimbal.
After finally getting everything properly set up, the gimbal became much easier to use after getting a little more familiarity. The Fluid AI can support up to 400g total weight, which is just under a pound. That makes this gimbal suitable for lighter items like smartphones, small action cameras like GoPro, and small point and shoot cameras. It’s not suitable for heavier gear like a large DLSR with interchangeable lenses. The Hero 12 has a bottom thread, so the included adapter was not needed to mount the camera. It attaches directly onto the camera mount using the thumbscrew. The phone fits securely inside the phone mount even with a thick phone case installed. The rubberized gimbal grip is ergonomically comfortable and has a nice slip-resistant texture. The gimbal can be controlled via the onboard hardware controls or through the fluid app. The gimbal found and paired with my phone instantly. I had to manually pair it with my Hero in settings, but that wasn’t difficult. The Fluid is easy to balance and manage and has several features for shooting needs and creative filming effects. The removable tripod can be used either with the gimbal or stand alone with my camera. The gimbal can also attach to other tripods or poles with a ¼-20 mount. As I shared earlier, I can also use the gimbal as a battery power bank to charge my phone or camera via USB using the included USB-C cable.
The Fluid AI has excellent AI based tracking with several different tracking modes. It has an ultra-wide angle mode that spins to position all gimbal components out of the frame and six available gimbal movement modes, which include:
- Inception mode - Allows a 360 infinite spin on the pan axis when gimbal is held horizontally.
- Sport - Increases the motor speed for fast paced subjects
- Pan follow - follows the subject on the pan axis
- Point of view - follows the subject on all axis
- All lock - holds the camera steady in place even if the gimbal pan, tilts or rolls
For tracking modes, the AI tracking reliably tracks moving targets and keeps them in frame for smooth and consistent video. The built-in fill light can be activated when needed and is a big help in certain tricky lighting environments. Controls are conveniently placed and easy to access during use. The controls are intuitive and become second nature after a few uses. I can also control the gimbal using virtual controls in the fluid app and hand gestures through the AI tracker. It’s easy switching between app and onboard controls when desired.
The GoPro Fluid AI gimbal is both fun to use and useful for getting steady cinematic quality video. The manual could use some improving but the gimbal itself is solid and reliable. Once I familiarized myself with the device, it became much easier to use. Interestingly, I noticed that the Fluid app developer is listed as Shenzhen Hohem. I wasn’t familiar with Shenzhen Hohem, so I did a little research and discovered they make gimbals under the brand Hohem. While seeking out additional information regarding their relationship with GoPro, I saw that some Fluid Pro owners online claimed the Fluid Pro AI looks like a rebranded Hohem M7. I understand why they feel that way, but I don’t feel the same. While the Fluid Pro AI does have some striking similarities to Hohem’s M7 gimbal, they are two uniquely different devices in some key areas. I was never able to find out exact details regarding the relationship between Hohem and GoPro beyond the app because official details are scarce online. If anything, I’m inclined to believe the M7 may be the inspiration and starting template behind the Fluid Pro and Hohem may possibly manufacture the Fluid Pro for GoPro, but the two devices while similar in areas, are not identical. The fact that Hohem is the app developer leads me to believe this even more. However, that’s just my speculation. I have found nothing official to confirm this.

GoPro Fluid Pro AI

I was drinking my morning coffee, going through emails when I saw the message from GoPro announcing the upcoming release of the Fluid Pro AI. I was immediately drawn to it mainly due to the built in camera that allows for tracking movement. I’m slowly building up my little home studio and I thought this gimbal might fit the bill as an AI powered cameraman. I’m happy to report that it does! I already have a GoPro Hero 13 so I mounted that to the included bracket and spent a few minutes balancing the camera per the included directions. Not too difficult but important to reduce strain on the gimbal’s motors. Using a few simple hand gestures I’m able to have it track my movements around the shop or hold in position, start and stop video recording or take a photo depending on what mode the camera is in, or a really handy feature is that you can reframe a shot all with gestures. It’s pretty cool!
I don’t do much in the way of vlogging but there are features that might make this a “must have” if you do. Tapping the trigger twice will recenter the gimbal but tapping it three times will flip the camera 180 so it’s facing you so it switches easily from selfie mode to show your POV. Tapping four times will move the roll motor and arm back behind the camera if you are making a wide angle shot so it doesn’t show in frame. Pressing and holding the trigger will put the Fluid in Sport Mode which increases the speed of the gimbal on all axis to track faster moving people. I did try to track objects or pets with the GoPro camera mounted and was unsuccessful, but if you use the Fluid app and mount your phone in the provided phone adapter you can draw a box around an object and it will track that. So it appears that without the Fluid app the gimbal only tracks people. We were able to fool it by showing it a picture of a person on a phone and it tracked the picture so I assume it’s looking for either a human or a human shaped object at least unless you’re using the Fluid app on a mobile device. Tracking worked well for me in standard mode as long as the person wasn’t moving too quickly, Sport mode worked on faster moving people but since you need to hold the trigger down to stay in Sport mode it’s not something can use with it hands free on the included tripod.
There are several modes to pick from which changes how each axis responds to the Fluid Pro’s handle movement. In Lock mode for instance, the Fluid Pro will keep the camera pointing at the same target as you move about. Other modes allow for panning only, or allow you to control pan and tilt only while it powers the roll axis to keep the camera level.
It does have a small built in fill light and a scroll wheel to vary the brightness and you can adjust the color temperature from 2700K to 6500K to suit your subject’s skin tone or help compose your shot. The light and AI camera assembly is reversible, if you have the AI camera reversed it disables POV mode as an option I noticed. I couldn’t think of a reason why I would want the AI camera facing me and the film camera facing away though?
The base of the device has a 1/4-20 threaded mounting hole for the included tripod or it will fit on a standard camera tripod. You could attach a 1/4-20 threaded lanyard there also (not included with the device). There’s a second 1/4-20 hole on the right side of the Fluid for accessory mounting.
The grip on the Fluid is textured and slightly grippy but not squishy. Feels good in the hand. Also note that if you are left handed, the large scroll wheel might be pressing on your index finger and affect how well you can reach the trigger. Not as comfortable when I’m using it with my left hand. Probably should try it in the store and see how it is for you if you’re a lefty. I use my right hand so I have no complaint with it. The controls are easy to reach and really everything can be operated with just my thumb and index finger except for the button on the scroll wheel.
It comes with a small coiled usb-c cable to power the camera and extend its run time.
The included phone adapter can be used in portrait or landscape mode, if your phone/case combo is over about 3 1/2” wide it might need the case removed to make it fit. It’s tight on my iPhone 11 in a Defender case. There’s a cold shoe on the phone adapter if you need to clip on something like a RX for your wireless microphone.
With a maximum capacity of 400 grams the Fluid could possibly handle a small point and shoot camera if it’s physically small and light enough but it does work wonderfully with my Hero 13 so I can recommend that.
The Fluid Pro AI can also connect to your GoPro camera and your mobile device via the Fluid app at the same time! This allows you to use your mobile device as a remote control for the gimbal, adjust settings, set up motion time lapse shots up to three hours long, control the camera and you can even control the Fluid’s motion using the accelerometers in your phone. It’s a neat device and I’m looking forward to putting it to work in the shop!

As a newer user to gimbals, and specifically AI gimbals, I am blown away by this GoPro Fluid Pro AI gimbal!
I have been a youtube content creator for about 4 years now and have typically used static mounts for my iphone whenever recording content. That is fine but doesn't always produce that dynamic shot that you want. I dabbled with a lower cost gimbal in the past with mixed results, but this GoPro multi-device gimbal stabilizer with AI tracking really is a game changer.
Setting it up did pose a challenge to me, not due to complexity, but because the instructions were not explicit, and I didn't want to break my brand-new gimbal on its first outing. I saw the physical locks for the main head of the gimbal, but the swing arm just clip-locks into place, and I ended up realizing that when I put it down at just the right angle, and the arm unlocked from its position. It wasn't instantly apparent that that was the way to unlock it, just by pulling it. Clearer instruction for a newer user would be beneficial there.
Anyways, unlocking out of the way, setting up my iPhone on the gimbal was very straight forward. Basically, the goal is to balance the phone on all axis, so that it doesn't droop or fall at all. There are locking levers and sliders that allow you to do this very easily. Now, I am using this with an iPhone, as that is how I capture, create, edit, narrate and release my content, all in my phone. However, this gimbal is suited, obviously to GoPro and similar cameras, some vlogging cameras, and also, with the adapter, phones as well. It's a nice, versatile gimbal with different mounting options.
Once mounted and balanced, when you turn it on, it effectively leaps into life, swinging around and seamlessly floating your camera/phone in place. It's almost mesmerizing when you move the gimbal around and the phone stays upright. Twist your hand left and right and you can pan your camera/phone. There's a joystick on there to fine tune your phone's position (up or down, side to side etc).
My favorite mode is (PF) - Pan follow. To me this is the most fluid range of motion and captures what I want with ease. Download the companion GoPro Fluid App for even more control over your gimbal. Yes, you can actually use your phone as a remote control (if you aren't using it for recording) using the app!
With the AI tracking, you can set it up on its provided tripod, and then using the app, you can use hand gestures to control the way the gimbal follows you around. On the top right of the gimbal is a small camera that tracks you and moves the gimbal around. There is also a light on top of the gimbal to add some light to your face. You can control the color temperature and brightness of the light as you need it.
The gimbal can hold a device up to 400g and offers a full 360 degree pan capability with 3-axis stabilization, and can be controlled effortlessly with either the on board joystick if you are using it hand-held, or via gesture control as I mentioned, with 'start/stop' recording, 'AI tracking on' and 'AI tracking off' features pre-programmed into the app. This really adds to the ease of use of this product, especially compared to what I have used in the past. This makes it a lot less daunting to use!
The gimbal claims to have a battery life of up to 18 hours, but more than that, you can actually plug your phone/camera into the gimbal and power it back up from the battery in the gimbal. Now that's pretty neat!
As far as what you get with this set, you have the gimbal itself, a phone mount, a 1/4-20 screw mount, a light with built in AI tracking camera, a charging cord for the gimbal, a cable to connect your camera/phone to the gimbal to charge, a tripod stand and a carry case.
Overall, my experience so far with this gimbal has been fantastic, and it's made me rethink how I can add to my content. My previous experience left me frustrated, but this gimbal has made it so easy to capture new views, new angles, new content overall - it's even going make something as the simple opening to my videos a lot more interesting and professional. Absolutely love this GoPro Fluid Pro AI gimbal!

Great Option

While I am not a full time or pro creator I have always wanted to step up my game when it came to capturing high quality content for my platforms with products that are easy to learn for even the most novice user. While I wasn't familiar with gimbals for "regular people" use I was intrigued when the opportunity to try the GoPro Fluid Pro AI came along. While I did have a GoPro camera in the past (it is no longer functional and I never got around to getting a replacement) I liked that this gimbal allowed for multi-device use giving me an opportunity to use it with what I already have while knowing that when I do get another GoPro camera I would be able to use it with this.
The first thing I noticed when opening the box and storage case was how substantial the gimbal felt. Comfortable in the hand while clearly being made with great quality. Setup was fairly simple BUT I did have to seek out real use videos to make sure I was orientating things properly as the illustrations and the product photos for some reason were confusing to me. I won't go so far as to say that would be a common issue for others because I honestly think I was over thinking things. Other than that though setup was pretty simple. I downloaded the Fluid App and was able to connect the app and the gimbal automatically with no issues. There is an option to connect manually also which had clear to follow instructions but I did not need to use them.
I did not test using a GoPro (as I stated, I no longer had a functioning one to use) but opted to use my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I also attempted to try my Canon EOS R50 but as I suspected it was not going to work as it is bigger/heavier than a small point and shoot camera and while I was able to connect it to the gimbal using the camera attachment it was too heavy to properly balance and left very little clearance room for movement. I was able to use my iPhone both with and without my everyday case on it thanks to the mobile attachment having great stretch to accommodate everything. The only con I could think of was that I wasn't able to use the Fluid app in a way that I could connect to a different bluetooth device to use as the remote while using my phone on the gimbal so in that scenario I didn't have that convenience and had to use the small buttons and screen directly on the gimbal. It may be possible to do it some other way but so far I have not been successful at finding a way to do it. This is of course an option if I was using a GoPro with the gimbal or a camera and using the phone as a remote). Footage I captured was crystal clear and automatically ready for content sharing platform use. The Fluid app has some built in features that make creating creative content easy for any novice that wants something quick and easy while they learn the other features for a more tailored and intentional shooting session.
Ultimately, this is a great option for new content creators or more advanced users. Of course with a GoPro camera you would likely experience more but even with just using a non-GoPro camera or phone you can still achieve great content for any needs. I also want to mention that even when you're not using the gimbal you can use the Fluid app and it's camera OS for your regular phone camera use and may find it to be better than what the native camera app offers.

The Gimbal to use from GoPro

The latest Gimbal from GoPro, Fluid Pro AI, is quite alike a robotic arm that complement the GoPro Camera or a mobile phone. It provides a powerful sensors that can adapt dynamically to the movement and action.
The package includes:
1. Gimbal,
2. AI Tracker,
3. Tripod
4. Camera Bracket
5. Phone Clamp,
6. Finger Adapter,
7. Thumb Screw
8. USB-C Gimbal Charging Cable
9. USB-C Device Charging Cable
10. Carrying Case
The gimbal once assembled, in total provides 29 functionalities, from which includes 3 motors (Tilt Motor, Pan Motor, Roll Motor). It also includes a Fill Light which can be controlled with Control Wheel for the grade of brightness.
It also includes a tinny screen for indicator of Mode based selection made with the dedicated button. Now, the actual physical actionable buttons are:
1. Mode Button (M)
2. Joystick
3. Trigger Button
4. Zoom Lever / Shutter Button
5. Control Wheel
5.1. For Focus Control+ Roll Rotation
5.2 Fill Light Control mentioned above.
6. A-B Botton, has effect on how Joystick behaves for Start and Position of the camera.
On AI tracking, this is fascinating on how it works. By default it recognizes 4 hand signs for:
1. Start AI Tracking
2. Stop AI Tracking
3. Start/stop Recording, Take Photo,
4. Customized Composition.
These works nicely as long as it is within the specified distance, which is 0.5m to 5m (1.64ft to 16.40 ft) away.
For the case of waling around with the auto mode, as walk the gimbal adjust automatically as the angle is low or high. The adjustment ion the position allows s the camera focus still on the object.
The gimbal has full of features to explore but above is mostly the most that comes to impress after first usage.
On the other hand, understanding it how to use at first is not counterintuitive, I had to tryout multiple times until understood the functionality. One of issue I had was placing the camera or the phone in bracket and positioning aligned with the Fill Light as it move around and desert have fixed position.
Other issues I had was randomly appearing error message and overheat messages and not being able to solve perse as when it is restarted it is not longer showing.
What I wish it worked better:
1. To place the GoPro Camera, in my usage Hero 13, it need to use Finger Adapter and Thumb Screw. It is not just click and use. Although it could have used with Phone Clamp, and the puporse of using Finger Adapter is more secure, still it is multiple steps.
2. Less buttons. It has 7 buttons including the joystick. The buttons on the side are a bit odd to use unless get used to after a while.
3. The app Fluid doesn’t have option to switch to Front Camera without changing the direction of the arm of the gimbals. I am guessing it doesn’t as the AI sensor is pointing only one direction hence it limit the AI functionality. But while being the middle of recording can’t switch to front camera then back to the rear camera.
As for ending the review, the Gimbal is an excitement to use, it is flexible and dynamic and works as intended. There are little details to tune still for better user experience and some training in advance, but as Hardware and it Application in overall deliver a nicely made one.

Solid Action Gimbal with Great App Integration

Go-Pro’s Fluid AI Pro gimbal is, overall, a pretty capable device for content creators. In my testing, I found Go-Pro’s Fluid AI Pro to be a capable device that is suitable for my needs—I mainly create amateur short-form videos for my own socials, requiring some tracking shots and basic movements. For these purposes, it performs well, no complaints here.
Build
Its body is mostly a durable plastic, with some of the brackets being made of metal. I mainly shoot on iPhone, and its 400g payload capacity held up the weight of the new iPhone 17 Pro Max (233 grams) without an issue. Compared to something like the DJI Osmo Mobile 3 (which I previously used, obviously much older and a little obsolete), it handles much better, balancing the iPhone with ease. It’s very robust and can handle the rougher movements associated with those jolty sports and action shots. Additionally, there’s still a lot of space left to attach extra lens attachments without going over its weight limit. One thing that I and many others have likely noticed, was that this gimbal seems like an exact replica of Hohem’s ‘M6 Smartphone Gimbal’. It has the same grip, same handle, same dial on its left side, and the same design of the joints. I’m not saying that this is a bad thing, but just something I noticed. The GoPro version does have the benefit of the connected app, which provides more control over your video and allows you to connect with the gimbal when shooting.
Tracking/Performance
The subject-tracking capabilities were okay, following a subject well when the composition was simple—for example: my face against the background of my room. When I tried tracking my finger, moving it across my face, it had difficulty distinguishing what the subject was—my face, or my finger, and it would either switch subjects to my face or disengage completely, unable to find a clear subject to track. In low light conditions (I just turned off the lights in my room with only some slight illumination from the moon outside), it would still be able to follow my face as I moved throughout the room. In more complex compositions involving many people and faces, say a subject walking through a crowd, I’m uncertain that it would be able to accurately track the subject. The AI tracking feature works well and does a good job of distinguishing between the subject and other possible distractions. It’s a pretty cool feature that also allows you to track the back of people and pets.
I appreciated the different gimbal movement modes—each have their merits and are pretty useful, adding another degree of functionality to the gimbal. For example, I wanted to get a cinematic shot of my friends and I running through the streets, so I set it to sport mode, which did a great job of handling my jerkish movements whilst tracking my friends.
In my opinion, it’s more suitable for creators that shoot action scenes as well as cinematic everyday life content. It’s rugged, and can handle jerkish movement with ease. The ability to mount multiple devices—GoPros, iPhones, and even compact cameras—gives it even more functionality for those who do shoot on multiple devices. If your shooting style involves these traits, the GoPro Fluid Pro AI is a great choice.

If you are just getting into videography, content creation or just want that premium look of your memories now it's the best time to be on the market for such thing cause the Go Pro / Fluid Ai Multi device Gimbal stabilizer checks all the boxes that will get you to that Great Video Result.
It is packed with great features and a great software that makes it really easy to create!
🔧 Build Quality & Compatibility:
It's built to support multiple device types - GoPro cameras, smartphones and compact point-and-shoot cameras -- thanks to interchangeable mounts. The payload capacity of up to 400g means it can handle setups with filters, lenses, and accessories without compromising stability.
🤳AI-Powered Stabilization & Tracking:
The Fluid Pro AI features 3-axis motorized stabilization combined with AI subject tracking, which inteligently follows faces or boddies in motion (for up to 12ft in good lighting conditions after my testing). Wheather you're filming fast-paced sports, walking through crowded streets or vlogging on the go, the gimbal keeps your subject centered and your footage smooth without cropping or softening the image like digital stabilization does.
🔋Battery life:
One of its standout features is the 18-hour battery life, which is significantly longer than its competitors. Even better, it can double as a power bank, letting you charge your camera or phone while shooting.
💡Built-In Fill Light & Gesture Control
The Gimbal includes a built-in LED fill light, which helps illuminate subjects in low-light or mixed lighting conditions. Combined with gesture control and an intuitive interface, it's super easy to operate even when you are solo shooting.
📲App intergrtion & Smart features:
The GoPro Fluid app unlocks advanced features like motion presets (Inception and Smart motion timelapse being my favorite). Also it transforms my phone camera and a much more capable device thru software.
🎬My Conclusions:
The GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal is a Top-Tier stabilizer for creators who demand precision, flexibility and long-lasting performance. If you are willing to invest in quality, this Gimbal won't disappoint and will allow you to easily create that Professional Footage that we all aspire to obtain!

I have been using this Gimbal now for a week and have been pleasantly surprised with is performance. There are two main reasons on why this device created an excellent experience since unboxing - Tracking and build/design.
Unboxing was amazing, all pieces come in a canvas zippered bag that tightly fits all stands, handles and pieces. This bag can be used in nearly all conditions as its built for the elements.
This gimbal is sturdy, not just built tough but built from high grade materials. I have since used it for some biking and had no issues when it was dropped or bumped. I had noticed that there others out there are pretty flimsy but not this one. The tracking of this is insane. It can center your POI, follow it frame by frame or even do the following if the gimbal falls over. It has blown my mind that technology has come to a place where the camera man is almost becoming obsolete. This gimbal can be used for any go-pro camera but also for cell phones. If you are a new user to this type of a device then I would recommend looking into what stabilizers/trackers can do as it was not super intuitive on what functionality was possible. Their website does provide some guidance but not to the level I was expecting, not a deal breaker by any account.
If you are a content creator that is looking to automate your video capturing experience then I would recommend this. It has nearly all of the bells and whistles that one would desire from any sort of a stabilizer/tracking device. All of the modes that are available around tracking come stock too.

I really liked this gimbal, it did amazing work when I was on a hike. I have the GoPro Hero 13 Black and it paired with it via Bluetooth and I was able to control the GoPro using the Gimbal. The only thing I couldn’t quite figure out was how to update the firmware of the Gimbal itself. There doesn’t seem to be a place in the GoPro app, and the GoPro itself doesn’t seem to have the firmware on it. Perhaps this will be one of those situations where you have to update it from a PC or a Mac via USB-C.
As mentioned before I used this on a couple hikes, but I also tried using it on a jog and driving in the mountains. The video looks incredibly good and stable. It seems to know when I want to turn when on a trail, but if I was just jogging on just grass, or something more free form, the turning would be slower, but it wasn’t bad by any means.
I also had an idea and that was to use it at my place of work to get a POV video of a horse. So we put it on the horse’s head using a special helmet with a camera screw and the video was “okay”. Unfortunately the gimbal doesn’t have an up and down counter measure so the horses movement caused the video to look a little strange with ups and downs.
I love this gimbal, and the fact it comes with a phone adapter as well, makes me enjoy it even more.
The cons are that it's very complicated. If you don’t know what you’re doing, I don’t think you’ll just ‘figure it out’. You will and should read the instructions. It definitely helped me out. There’s a ton of different type of gestures you can do to switch it from vlog mode and more. It’s not a simple device.
The battery life seems endless. I have yet to charge it and it’ll definitely outlast the GoPro in terms of battery endurance.
It comes with a case that I do enjoy, but I wish it had a spot for more accessories that GoPro makes and had a spot for the GoPro itself. I was able to get it to fit some things nicely, but I wish it was more compatible with GoPro official accessories. That also means if you have a bunch of stuff or a case already for you GoPro and accessories, you have another thing to carry along with you because it’s not exactly small.

You do not need to use this with a gopro camera. I did connect my gopro hero camera and it worked great, but I prefer to just use my phone in the gimbal instead. When you first get the gimbal skip over the user guide and just download the app for your phone. I spent an hour trying to get this thing to work because the user guide does not mention anything about the app at first. So do yourself favor and download the GoPro Fluid app and make your life much easier.
Once I got the fluid app it made using the gimbal so simple. In the app you can select to use your phone as the gimble controller, select a motion time lapse, or motion control. You can also select use camera to open the camera on your phone to use in the gimble. I did my testing with an iPhone 14 pro in the gimble, and it worked perfectly.
I was blown away by how many features are built into the fluid app that make using the gimble super easy. A couple of built in features are under the moment tab in the camera, one is inception (dreamy auto rotation), Dolly Zoom (cinematic visual enjoyments), panoramic video, and smart motion time lapse. I played around with these, and they were simple to use and get a professional looking video. When your camera is on you can use hand signals to start or stop recording. These hand signals worked every time without any issues.
The Gimbal seems very well built and super sturdy. The controls are very easy to use on the gimbal itself or through your phone. The gimbal does have some locks on it for storage, and if you do not unlock them the screen on the gimbal will let you know. Also, if using a phone, you have to make sure its balance correctly on the gimbal (you can easily adjust these settings), if not the gimbal will give an error and turnoff. It took me forever to figure out that my phone was off centered and putting too much weight on one side causing the error.
This would be a great gimbal for anyone who is a video blogger, or just like creating fun cinematic videos. The more and more I use the gimble the easier it gets to use and I'm able to create pretty cool videos.

This is the first official GoPro branded 3-axis gimbal primarily for the Hero Black series and your cellphone. It arrived in its own padded carry case with both the cellphone grip and the GoPro connector with the finger base already attached. Also in the case was 2 charge cables (one for the unit and other for supplying power to devices), a tripod, and the Ai tracking accessory with fill light. I appreciate the generous space in the case that allows me to pop in a GoPro camera or 2.
The gimbal itself is a typical unit you would find at a camera store that's rather bulky for its intended use. It also needs to be balanced before you turn on the gimbal. The process involves connecting the camera to the base, sliding it into the connector in a way that balances the camera facing upward, and sliding the roll bar, then locking it in. Once your camera or phone are balanced perfectly, the gimbal can be turned on, and you can begin using it. Understanding how to use all the features can be a daunting task, but if this is going to be your only gimbal, then it should be fine.
I really like how the gimbal can be fine-tuned once on, including minute adjustments to the different motors, torque and speed settings, including a sport mode for quick reflexes. It includes the usual Pan Follow, Pan Tilt Follow, Lock, and POV, plus an additional inception mode which makes it look like you're swirling through a tunnel (great for transitions). Using the supplied mini tripod or a full size one, you can set and control Ai tracking with a few hand gestures (just make sure the sensor is facing in the right direction). There's also a point A to point B slow pan mode that you can set intervals from 1 minute to 2 hours. The fill light is pretty bright and can be incrementally adjusted 1% at a time, similarly, the light temp also has 6 or 7 settings, and the smooth side wheel makes it effortless to control. The GoPro camera battery on my 11 Black is notorious for its short lifespan, which is why the accessory charging cable is a must have. The cellphone attachment works really well and removes one step in the balancing process. It twists from portrait to landscape mode (though you need to slide your phone a bit to do it) The grip is deep enough to hold my foldable phone without issue, which is not easy to do (at a half inch thick).
It connects to the camera using Bluetooth (slightly different prompts depending on model) and controls toggling from photo to video and zoom (only the latest model). Features are better with your phone connected and having the user-friendly Fluid pro app installed. In fact, the app is your ticket to not having to memorize the key sequences on the unit to do what you want. I took off a star because of its lack of portability and the tedious balancing act for connecting something weighing less than a pound. Otherwise, a very capable gimbal that's packed with features and, as long as you use the app, you're golden!

Wow, this was an opening for me into the "Gimbal World!" I very much enjoyed it. Yes, you can use your phone with the GoPro Fluid Pro AI. But to me, phones are no fun. Bring on the GoPro Hero 13! Now this was a setup I very much enjoyed. It's a lightweight, fun setup. Let's jump into setting everything up.
This was my first Gimbal of any sort. Setting the Fluid Pro AI was simple. I did go online and look at the setup and followed the video. After setting up the gestures and syncing everything. I was ready to go. I was not much of a fan of Action Cameras. They do have their niche but this was much more enjoyable. Being able to keep your camera angled and leveled at all times is always a plus. Having the included tripod base is also another additional feature.
The Gimbal had multiple adjustments on the device. Allowing you to tilt, turn, and rotate the camera. Leveling everything and getting my GoPro 13 just right took about 5 minutes. With 3 quick clicks of the trigger, the Gimbal will flip and access "Selfie Mode." It just turns the Gimbal's front-facing camera to you. My only complaint is as someone with BigHands, the grip can feel small. Thank you, GoPro for introducing me into the Gimbal World.

As with other reviewers, I found that the setup required some patience, and it is definitely best to have the manual in hand (at this time, I did not find many instructional videos online, even on the GoPro website). The manual however is not the best at showing what to do. I agree with one reviewer about the arm lock, with one (roll) arm just clipping into or out of place, I actually emailed support to ask this, but I don’t think I got a response. Mounting the GoPro camera involves some directionality as the arms can rotate “inside out”, which is in the manual, and is activated by 4 trigger pulls, and is still a mystery to me about why this is so. Other observations: Inception mode is via “mode” button, 3 pushes, Sport mode, pull and hold trigger, Push and hold control button to turn light on/off. Bluetooth took a few try’s to connect to GoPro13 and I think was successful when I turned off iPhone/iPad settings, and has held the pairing. AI tracking took a few try’s too, and is cool when activated, a real plus. Other pros are that this gimble can handle 3 devices as long as the total weight is less than 400g. I was successful mounting my iPhone and a smaller point and shoot camera which definitely needs stabilization for 4K video. GoPro Fluid app worked good and updated the firmware easily. There are many settings which can be accessed via the Fluid app as well. While I have a simpler unit (Hohem) for the GoPro, this one is a nice upgrade and well worth it

Brilliant Engineering Undercut by a Broken Manual

I am writing this review for the GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal.
I’m writing this review after several weeks with the GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal, and I want to be upfront: if I were rating this product solely on the initial setup experience, it would be a –10 stars situation. Yes, a negative 10. That’s how frustrating those first several hours were.
This is not an entry-level gimbal. Even seasoned veteran videographers might have found themselves confused before they ever got the thing balanced. And the reason is painfully simple: the user manual is fundamentally flawed. Before figuring out what was going on, I seriously considered just returning the gimbal. When I unboxed the Fluid Pro, the first thing I saw was a warning wrapped around the base: “Your gimbal must be balanced before it is turned on. See the user guide for instructions” That’s reasonable for a professional gimbal—so I grabbed the user manual to follow the instructions. And the nightmare began.
No matter how I positioned or rotated my Fluid Pro, nothing matched the illustrations. It looked backwards. Crooked. Wrong. I genuinely believed the gimbal had been assembled incorrectly at the factory. Because the warning specifically said not to power it on before balancing, I didn’t dare test anything by force. And since this gimbal is still new on the market, there were zero videos or guides online to help me figure out what I was doing wrong, not even on GoPro’s own support pages. And their phone support? A dead-end recording that directs you back to the website…where there was absolutely nothing helpful. After several hours of frustration, I quit for the night.
Off and on for the next several days, I kept searching for setup videos, setup instructions, ANYTHING that would let me get the gimbal setup. It wasn’t until digging through customer reviews that I found the answer. The user mentioned not being able to figure out how to set up the gimbal because none of the illustrations matched his gimbal. Why? The manual’s illustrations are literally mirrored—backwards. The only way to make sense of the illustrations would have been to hold the manual up to a mirror! Once I understood this, I had the thing balanced in minutes. This is a major failure on GoPro’s part. A product this advanced deserves a manual that isn’t so laughably corrupted.
But enough of all of that! Let me go over the positive aspects of the GoPro Fluid Pro Ai gimbal! My first impression as I unpacked the gimbal was Wow! Everything comes in a molded carrying case, with manuals included in an inside pocket. As with all other GoPro products, it was obvious I was looking at a very high-quality setup. The gimbal itself feels extremely sturdy and well-built. There is not a shred of anything low-quality about the Fluid Pro. It exudes an aura of perfection. I began familiarizing myself with all the included components, and after the aforementioned setup debacle, I was ready to discover just what this gimbal was capable of doing.
Before balancing, I downloaded the Fluid app, which I recommend as it keeps you from having to stop mid-setup later. It’s probably obvious by this point that there is a bit of a learning curve to contend with here. There are more dials and buttons on the Fluid AI than there are on the space shuttle. And every single one of them add an important flare and depth to the entire Fluid Pro experience. Even after several weeks of exploring the many functions, I still feel like I am only beginning to fully grasp just how powerful and useful the Fluid Pro AI really is.
For example, the Power button alone has six different functions, depending on how many and how long you press the button. The Mode button lets you choose between four different follow modes. However, it also has several other functions, again depending on how many times and how long you press it. I really have to say that I am a bit baffled by the seeming conundrum here… the unbelievably intelligent and purposeful manner in which the engineers designed the Fluid AI to be perhaps the best gimbal on the planet, only to include a user manual that was so obviously flawed.
My first use of the gimbal was outside. It took a bit of research, but I finally discovered that to activate the tracking feature, I had to make a square like a movie director might do to frame a shot. This is using the GoPro Hero 12 Black, and not my phone. Of course, with the GoPro Quik app there is the ability to preview the scene before actually shooting. I tried a few static shots at first to get the feel of how well the Fluid would track in my back yard. After enabling tracking, I walked a circle several times at various paces, even doing a quick jog, just to see if the gimbal would keep up. Yes, it did and did so flawlessly. I watched the gimbal closely to see if there was any motor shudder or stutter, but there appeared to be absolutely none. It wasn’t until I actually shot a few short videos that the unbelievably smooth movement of the gimbal’s motors became quite apparent. Using the POV mode was the deal sealer for me. I made it a point to try and lose the AI tracker. I jogged/ran, stopped suddenly and knelt down and got back up, and even did a 360 to see if it would lose track of my face. It didn’t. As I reviewed the videos, I had to laugh to myself because of just how seriously well the Fluid Pro AI performs. I hate to use a worn-out cliché, but its performance is stellar.
The Fluid Pro allows for use with a phone, or one of the compatible GoPro cameras. As I said, I started off with the GoPro 12 Hero Black, mainly due to the ability to see the shot beforehand. But this has its obvious limitations, shoot time being the most prevalent, followed closely by lens(es) quality. Although the Hero 12 is equipped with top-tier lens, it pales in comparison to the lens architecture of some of the newer phones, such as my 17 Pro Max. But using a phone comes with its own set of limitations, the main issue being setting up a shot. The reasons are obvious. However, when the shot is good, the end results far outweigh the inconvenience of having to go back and forth to make adjustments for a perfect shoot. There is another feature I want to highlight at this point and that is the built-in fill light. It is surprisingly bright and genuinely useful. It provides real, usable fill illumination when shooting in dimly lit rooms, shooting at dusk, or moving between lighting environments. Thank you, GoPro, for thinking of this…it really makes a difference.
After shooting several shots using the built-in tripod, I decided to use a full-sized tripod. With the camera at face level, I experimented with several of the different shooting modes, using various settings. The full-sized tripod added a level of cinematic professionalism that is stunning. A casual observer would no doubt believe these videos were shot using a human camera operator, and not a gimbal. As I said, there is quite a learning curve with the GoPro Fluid Pro AI gimbal, and I still have a way to go before I feel truly comfortable using it for anything more than casual, basic video shoots. But I know already that viewers on my YouTube channel will notice the difference.
So, my take? Although this isn’t an entry-level gimbal, with enough patience and perseverance it can be a beginners’ ultimate dream video tool. Again, the greatest challenge is overcoming the flawed information in the users’ manual for the initial setup. A major faux pas on the part of GoPro. The bottom line then is this, would I recommend the GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal? Not only YES, but ABSOLUTELY YES! For me, this is an evolutionary leap for any videographer wishing to expand their work. Even with the much-discussed user manual flaw, I am still giving the Fluid Pro a Five-Star rating. It is that good.

The design and build quality of this gimbal is great. It feels to be made of a strong plastic. The gimbal grip is comfortable to hold and helps provide relief of holding the weight of the gimbal. The grip has a texture to it which would aid in maintaining grip if my hand got sweaty. There are a lot of physical controls included in this device which is great if I wanted to shoot with gloves on, like during a cold weather shoot. There are a number of threaded mounts on the gimbal to mount whatever you may need—whether that be an additional light (there is a built in fill light), an external microphone, or a tripod (a desktop size tripod is included with the kit). One thing I didn’t love about this gimbal is how much space it takes up even when it’s folded. It folds flat (and includes a number of locking mechanisms to make sure it doesn’t come undone) but it doesn’t fold in half so even at it’s smallest it’s still roughly the length of a Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck. On the plus side, it comes with a really nice travel case so I have no reservations around throwing it in my backpack. It also comes with mounting clamp for a phone as well as mounting hardware for a GoPro (or small point and shoot).
The motors controlling the gimbal are sturdy, smooth, and silent, which are probably the most important factors to me in a gimbal. The motors were also responsive and quick, which I think is great for using them to pan. I think one of the things that intrigued me the most about this gimbal was its AI tracking, and it did not disappoint. There is a small module that connects to the top of the gimbal via USB-C, and it is bidirectional so I can flip it depending on if I’m trying to track myself in selfie mode or a subject in front of me. The tracking works really well. After a quick swipe to target my face on my phone, it worked flawlessly and was able to track me easily while I was moving around.
The included GoPro Fluid app (tested on iOS) works great. It’s easy to use. It allows for a lot of customization of camera settings, like ISO, shutter, and EV. You can also customize the gimbal’s settings like motor speeds, joystick speeds, etc.
Overall, I thought this was a great gimbal with great pro features like AI subject tracking.

Performance & Stabilization
As someone who shoots a mix of vlogs, event coverage, and creative short clips, the Fluid Pro AI has been a game-changer. The 3-axis stabilization is buttery smooth, even when I’m walking or panning quickly. The unlimited 360° pan and wide tilt range make shots feel cinematic without the jitter you’d expect from handheld footage.
AI Tracking & Ease of Use
The AI subject tracking is surprisingly accurate. Whether I’m filming myself or following someone else, the forward/rear-facing module locks onto faces and bodies reliably. Gesture controls are intuitive—I can start tracking or adjust framing without touching the gimbal, which keeps the workflow natural and hands-free.
Lighting & Build Quality
The built-in fill light is a subtle but powerful addition. It’s not a replacement for studio lighting, but it balances shadows nicely for outdoor vlogging or quick interviews. The build feels solid and professional, easily supporting my GoPro with accessories like filters and small lenses. At 400 g capacity, it’s versatile enough for most compact setups.
Battery & Connectivity
Battery life is excellent—I’ve filmed for hours without worrying. The fact that it doubles as a power bank is a lifesaver when my phone or GoPro runs low mid-shoot. Wireless camera control through the Fluid app is seamless, letting me adjust shutter, zoom, and focus without fumbling with settings.
App Integration
The GoPro Fluid app adds creative tools like motion time-lapse and smart framing presets. It’s not just a stabilizer—it feels like a creative assistant that expands what my camera can do.
Pros
Rock-solid stabilization with wide motion range
Reliable AI subject tracking with gesture control
Built-in fill light for balanced shots
Strong build supports heavier setups
Long battery life + power bank function
Smooth wireless camera control and app integration
Backed by GoPro’s lifetime warranty
Cons
Slightly bulky compared to ultra-light gimbals
Fill light is helpful but not a full lighting solution
Best suited for GoPro and compact cameras—DSLRs are too heavy
Final Verdict
The GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal Stabilizer is a premium tool that feels designed for serious content creators. If you’re a vlogger, filmmaker, or event shooter who wants smooth footage, reliable tracking, and extra creative features, this gimbal is worth the investment. It’s not the smallest option out there, but its durability, versatility, and AI-powered features make it one of the most complete stabilizers I’ve used.

GoPro cameras are well known for their smooth image stabilization as they are built for action in motion. This feature-packed GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal Stabilizer cranks it up a few notches and works with both GoPro cameras and large Smartphones that attach to the built-in holder with tripod, AI sensor and fill light. It can support a total weight of 400g combined payload of your camera and accessories.
It is fairly compact and comes with a carrying case for the device attachments which makes it weigh a bit, close to two pounds as a complete package. That added weight is also due to its large built-in lithium battery that can last up to 18 hours of use. The battery can also be used as reserve power for your GoPro camera or phone while mounted on the gimbal 3-axis stabilization motor that’s the heart and soul of this intelligent selfie stick/tripod. The AI powered brain can track people's faces, pets and reasonably sized objects with 360 degrees of panning, 320 degrees of tilting and rolling. The GoPro FLUID App pairs with the gimbal via bluetooth and allows you to view and control your settings from up to 32 ft away.
The selfie-stick has an optional tripod that can be attached to the bottom to help with hands-free operations, but it also has a screw-hole on the bottom if you need to attach it to a full height tripod - a very useful feature. I used it hands-free with both my older GoPro 7 HERO and Galaxy S25 Ultra to record a few attempts at teaching my nephew a few soccer moves. The AI tracking worked very well especially on the horizontal plane, from side to side, not as much on the vertical axis. I also noticed that if you’re too far from the tripod tracking sensor, it will eventually stop tracking, at about 12 feet distance. The tracking ability may also be affected by sunlight glare or other bright lights.
The multimodal AI camera sensor can also be activated by hand gesture commands so you can start/stop videos or the AI tracking, with simple gestures like the “OK” sign to start and the “Palm” sign to stop. The GoPro Fluid App has additional advanced operations that you could spend hours playing around with all the available settings, but if you’re a beginner it could be a little overwhelming.
Overall, this GoPro Fluid Pro AI Gimbal Stabilizer differentiates itself from the competition with its interchangeable mounts for different devices and is a great addition for any video/content creation and I can’t wait to bring it with me on my next adventure.
