The main difference between this and the Hero 6 is the number of frames per second at 4K recording. So for the difference in price this was a good choice for me. The battery dosen't last as long as I would like; however, GoPro does offer reasonably priced accessories like additional batteries, chargers, etc on their web site. I was pleasantly surprised.

I like that it came with the remote. It works well when skiing-easier to use the voice comands.

I had a knock off cheap action camera as a starter product for me. I had it for about 2 years, used it very rarely. Then I decided to step-up and buy this GoPro Hero 5 Black and man I just jumped in to light speed! - It has tons of features that will make your videos cinematic quality. For me what impress me the most was the camera stabilization. Mounted on a Go Kart and took a ride with my daughter thinking that the image and sound quality would be ok, I was stunned, very minimal shake and even with the loud noise from the kart I was able to hear the conversation we were having. This is the reason I bought it, to take family videos in the best quality possible. The 2 CONS. 1; Sound recording is ok, but it needs improvement, I am able to get rid of some noise and augment some sound with Power Director. 2: Battery Life. I would like if this can last more hours with out having to buy another battery. You can de-select some options to save battery consumption but I think the whole point of getting this camera is to get all the bells and whistles with out any compromise. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Picked up the Hero 5 because Best Buy offered the better deal with a remote. Works great. Haven't had any issues so far.
