||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.DAY 1 the GLITCHING/FREEZING started....WHY GOPRO WHY? For this amount, this ongoing issue for every gopro I've owned should be resolved by now...Good video quality though...I'll give you that...

GoPro makes a good camera but has a bad business
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good but not as good as the older ones. GoPro got rid of separate hdmi outputs so you can only charge OR take video out without a pass-through. As a company, GoPro’s planned obsolescence is too much. Their remote app can only view one GoPro at a time.

Best for adventurers
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first GoPro camera. I acquired it with little research other than I had seen commercials and always thought it would be cool to have a rugged enough camera to take pictures like that. I have come to realize that those images were not made by your average Joe, but by professionals and serious hobbyists. So, if you're like me and looking for a camera just to supplement your phone, think about what you'll use it for before opting for the Hero9. Don't get me wrong. It's a great little camera. It's surprisingly small and powerful, sporting 20 megapixels and up to 5k resolution. But if you just want an extra camera for every day pictures of your kids or pets, you may as well just stick with your phone. This is meant to get those photos and videos that you can't get with a phone. As with all digital cameras, there's a bit of studying you'll need to do to figure out how to utilize all of the camera's abilities. There is a quick start guide included in the box, but no manual. After a few minutes of digging through GoPro's website, I was able to find a pdf download. The basics are pretty straightforward though. You'll want to download the app, though it isn't necessary to make use of the camera. While it can be used as-is out of the box, you'll probably want to pick up some accessories to get the most out of your camera. To do anything other than use it as a webcam you'll need to get a micro sd card. Do a little research, as different sd cards are meant for different applications. GoPro's website suggests the SanDisk Extreme (not the Extreme Ultra) which promises fast load times. If you want to get those cool surfing shots or fun videos from your dog's perspective, you'll have to lay down some extra cash for the proper attachments. While the camera itself is waterproof, you'll need to get a red light filter if you want to produce some good looking underwater shots. The camera comes with a nice little travel case, but you'll probably want something bigger to keep all your accessories wrangled together. Also, if you'll be taking a lot of videos, then you will probably want an extra battery. With its two screens and ultra high definition capabilities, a single battery probably won't last long enough for a decent adventure. Lastly, you may be interested in decent 3rd party software for photo/video editing. The Hero9 takes wonderful photographs, but not so wonderful that your flagship Apple or Samsung phone can't compete. I actually think my Galaxy S8 takes a better photo. Where the GoPro really excels is video. In particular, I get a big kick out of the time lapse feature. My boring 30 minute drive to work is turned into a wacky 56 second adventure. The available smart phone app allows for some minor editing of your media. All the usual things are there, like color balance, contrast, adding text, etc. Evidently, there used to be a computer program available that would allow you to do some more advanced editing, but GoPro's website suggests that the program is obsolete, listing it as "legacy" software. Rereading through my review it seems as though I'm being very critical of the GoPro Hero9, but in actuality it's a really great camera. My only actual criticism would be toward GoPro's marketing team for making me think I was going to be able to produce super professional-looking videos and photographs. As with any other camera, without the proper accessories (and maybe even a little training) images will only be as good as their photographer's talent. Comparing the Hero9 to other cameras in the same price range, I feel like you get more bang for your buck. What I like: - small, pocket-sized - waterproof - simple to use - great video capture/features What I dislike: - battery life - lack of included attachments - sd card is kind of hard to remove - accessories - can get pricey very quickly

Battery life

More innovation please.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best action camera but worst design. This Cam need a UI overhaul and redesigned buttons. This camera shoots amazing video quality. The camera could use a better system for software based file transfer as well.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its nice to have it but its not for me. Upon using it, I figured that my phone is more convenient to use so I returned the GoPro. 1 thing to note, do not forget to buy Micro SD card and extra battery.
