The camera is great, only problem i have found is that the quality in picture and video is TERRIBLE in low light

An action camera can have all the bells and whistles in the world and none of that matters if it messes up the most important thing of all.. recording your moment. I am using the SD card that came with my gopro hero9 black and on MULTIPLE occasions now I get home after capturing something awesome and come to find out... its not there. This time I am "lucky" enough to have the low resolution file (you can rename the .lrv files to .mp4 and they will play)... I am sooo tired of gopro failing in the software department. My hero 7 would constantly unknowingly freeze when charging or when you power it off so when you unplug it and go off somewhere it would somehow be stuck on when it looked off.. it would be warm to the touch when you go to use it and not turn on.. after a battery reset it would turn on ready to go.. at 5% battery. My Hero 8 does the same thing and on top of that it likes to reset the clock to 2016 even if the battery isn't dead.. when that happens you cannot adjust the date on the files.. they are locked so google photos categorizes all those videos wrong. Now.. the Hero9 I ordered on release date.. not sure why I keep doing this.. but I did and it is huge and heavy but the stabilization is nice... but it isn't usable when so frequently this thing is not saving videos. It will shut off while recording on occasion and on occasion it will just look like it is recording but nothing will be on the card. I have tried other approved SD cards and the results are the same. Also.. gopro seems to have given up on supporting their GPS functionality because that feature almost never works ... even in an open field once your clip is longer than a minute it is unlikely that the GPS data will be usable for a speedometer. FIX YOUR SOFTWARE!!

I mean, it works. Battery is horrendous on these things, but I suspect that is well known by now. Accessories needed for almost anything useful. My TV not 4K so can't say how "wow" the videos have been. I got it as open box so can't complain too much based on the savings.

This is an excellent camera to record all your everything activity.

Dont buy one. First off, they do ONE thing. Just buy a better phone. The only reason to buy one, is that you dont really have to worry about it being broken. The problem is, that you have a REALLY GOOD CHANCE that it will come broken, and you cant do anything about it. Their touch screens are a JOKE. My camera can only pretty much turn on, and click or record. You ALMOST have to connect to your phone to change ANY settings. There are SO MANY ISSUES. Just google them. My USB-C plug only works for power too. Not Micraphones or anything else. It is a VERY COMMON issue. that supposedly was going to be fixed by a FIRMWARE ISSUE. Unfortunately not all of them were fixed, and Gopro DOESNT CARE ABOUT YOU. I am stuck with a paperweight that i can hit start on, and hit stop on... anything in between.... ya never know!

Wish the view screen stayed on longer when recording out of the box

We took this on our trip to Hawaii and it was awesome! Worked well above and below the water!

So many issues with gopro. Connectivity to phone, trouble with it stayig on it kept turning on and off on its own. The App is terrible too. I knew it was a mistake buying another gopro. The video I did capture was decent though. Over all not impressed.

Really good for photos and movie videos. i have extensively use this during my vacation to India and has good battery backup as well.

Camera has a lot of glitches. You never know when its going to work or ruin the shot

Just got this for Christmas and started playing with it. Touchscreen on the hero9 is awful. I’m considering a return as it’s mostly unresponsive. I’ve tried all the recommendations from GoPro as far as longer finger touches and a more firm touch which only makes the response marginally better. The fact is GoPro released a flawed product. I’m very disappointed and if you’re looking into getting the hero9, I highly recommend researching the touchscreen issue.

We received a Hero 9 for Christmas and were pumped to get it set up and start filming mountain bike adventures. The camera will not, under any circumstances, connect to our wifi network. I have gone around with their terrible customer service for 3 weeks now trouble shooting it, tried so many different things on the network end, and it's become clear that it just doesn't work. If you go on GoPro's customer service page you'll see that this is a very common issue. Since it was a gift I have no way of returning it without making the person who bought it feel bad. They were beyond excited to give it to us since my daughter has started racing and they don't get to see her races in person. I'm going to attempt to sell it and buy some other model or brand, but I would definitely recommend looking through the issues reported on the customer service page before dropping $400.

Missing parts (screws, mounts) Camera in a somewhat rough shape

Worked 2 days. When I returned it, the store said they don’t make that model anymore and I had to pay more to replace it. The replacement is not compatible with the accessories. I had already purchased for the GoPro eight. So on top of having to pay more all the accessories, I purchased no longer worked.
