GoPro Hero9 - Above the rest
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from a previous GoPro. The sharpness is fantastic. Still light and compact. Shooting in 5K. Boy Oh Boy! The smoothing on fast action and the picture quality is outstanding. No Blur. I am excited to use this next year for our High School track team. To be able to slow motion an athlete. Wow. I cannot wait. Everyday shooting is easy and effortless. I suggest a second battery and of course a large memory card, or several. Why? Shooting in a higher resolution means bigger files. Be safe get every moment.

Underwater camera of my dreams
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this to take underwater pictures on a recent trip and I am beyond pleased! Any problems I had with the camera were completely user error. The photos and videos came out great! It's a little annoying that GoPro makes you pay for a subscription to their app on top of the hundreds of dollars for the camera, but that's not the cameras fault.

Not perfect... but pretty painless to use overall.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent, easy to use action camera that has survived snowboarding and snorkeling adventures. The only downside is the battery life - it only lasts about 2 hours when recording 4K60 and the unit warms up considerably due to the power usage. I didn't care too much for the app and especially not the now defunct desktop software. I also had difficulty connecting to the camera to take files off via USB until I switched the usb mode setting buried in one of the camera's setup menus. Once I got that figured out editing the footage in DaVinci Resolve was a piece of cake.

Big improvement over the Hero7
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned a Hero3 and a Hero7 before owning this one. I loved the Hero3, but hated the Hero7. The battery life on the Hero7 was absolutely subpar in cold conditions. The Hero9 so far has been great. The battery life, even in cold conditions is acceptable. I love the fact that it has the screen on the front for selfies. The stabilizing function is great too and the fact that you can also use it as a webcam is a nice bonus.

Pretty good action camera for my motorcycle
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive had this for about 2-3 weeks now I believe, &have used it each time I have gone for ride on my motorcycle. The video quality is wicked good for the price, the app is user friendly for me&I can navigate it no problem. Being able to sync the camera to my phone to get a preview of what the lens will pick up while I adjust the placement is a great feature. Being able to edit videos on the app is pretty good as well, but you obviously have much better results&control using a PC or laptop, but the app will make a short edit on its own if you let it, then you can add or take away from there. It has a decent amount of music available that is unlicensed so you dont have to worry about any copyright strikes if you use it for social media. I highly recommend also getting the gopro subscription, which will give you unlimited cloud storage, no questions asked replacement/repair of your GoPro should anything happen to it; only thing is you must send one to them to receive the replacement, &I believe it is limited to 2 per year(from the date you start your subscription). You will also receive discounts on the website. Overall, for 300 bucks, this is a good action camera be it your first one, or an additional one to expand your view points.

Still early days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s still early on, but I still feel like I need to buy an extra battery. The camera gets really hot! I’m afraid of my son touching it let alone myself. I wish it would come with a cover to protect the lens although it does come in a nice zip up box. That’s great for travel but not ideal for simple every day use. I have not used it for scuba yet but will need to buy housing for depths more than 33 but clearly don’t trust it at 33 I would say since that is the max. There were complaints of images being too sharp but I prefer that since I don’t have time for additional editing to “make myself look good” this is how we look, so you get the real deal! Not some filtered look. The battery is different to my 5 clearly , so much for back up batteries. I do however wish the photo but was only the photo button as I keep turning my camera off. The 5 does that as well but clearly I haven’t worked out why this is a special feature. (Sorry not a pro go pro user) all in all ok. Wish it had better zoom quality for the price and better housing with flash for underwater photography, but well that’s where they make their money, in all the extras. Part of me thinks I should have just gone with the sea life camera but I didn’t want the camera for just underwater photography. Good luck go pro users. I hope my photos come out as good as some of these amazing go pro users out there

Great Product!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're a go pro user since V1, you will noticed the investment in quality over time. Cam looks amazing, feels great. Video quality is something!! I love it! The two screens, I'm working on getting use to it. The battery is greatly consume buy to HD screens. Recommend a couple of extra Batts. Don't forget to always rinse with fresh water and dry before opening (mostly if used at ocean). Also, a big shout out to BestBuy for having a $50.00 gift card when purchased.

Sadly black metal overheats so easily :(
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I want so badly to give this product a 5 star review. But ONE thing is stopping me. The color black gets so extremely HOT, hot enough to burn your skin if you aren't extra careful. It just seems odd that the most deluxe version of a GoPro comes only in one color that makes it overheat so much. Colors are available like white or silver but only in the lesser models that do not have the capability to swap out batteries. So basically GoPro forces you to buy the black camera for the best one. But the best one overheats and can burn your skin or even your children's skin. Sounds like a serious design flaw honestly. It's a good thing this camera is waterproof since placing it in a waterproof casing will make it overheat in 15 minutes on a 70 degree day. I realize this is a GoPro design flaw and not the fault of Best Buy at all, but it is STILL a design flaw that needs to be fixed. It overheated on me while wearing on the chest mount on a roller coaster that goes 60 mph in 70 degree weather. I don't imagine it is going to do better when we start using it for kayaking videos in the summer heat. Hopefully, splashing some water on this waterproof camera will cool it off a little. If not, we may not get much kayaking footage at all in the Virginia heat.

Besides occasional glitches a great camera!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this camera for my outdoors adventures and as a web camera for teaching on zoom. The quality of the video is superb, but there are some annoying glitches once in a while. For example, when I press the power button, it wouldn't turn on. So I have to take the battery out and put it in. During zoom sessions the camera would freeze sometimes. It overheats as well. But, besides these issues, it is a great gadget which serves two completely different purposes!

Good
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.GoPro cameras are highly regarded for their rugged design, excellent image quality, and user-friendly features. Here is a review of some key aspects of GoPro cameras: 1. Build Quality: GoPro cameras are known for their durability and ruggedness. They are built to withstand harsh conditions, including water, dust, and extreme temperatures. Most models are also waterproof without the need for an additional housing. 2. Image and Video Quality: GoPro cameras capture high-quality photos and videos, offering sharp details, vibrant colors, and excellent dynamic range. They are capable of recording in various resolutions, including up to 4K Ultra HD, and offer different frame rates for smooth motion capture. The wide-angle lens provides a unique perspective and helps capture immersive footage. 3. Versatility: GoPro cameras are designed to be mountable and wearable, allowing users to capture footage from different angles and perspectives. They come with a vast range of mounting accessories, enabling attachment to helmets, surfboards, bikes, and more. This versatility makes them popular among sports enthusiasts, travelers, and content creators. 4. Ease of Use: GoPro cameras are known for their straightforward operation. They typically have an intuitive interface with easy-to-access settings and modes. Many models also feature touchscreen displays, voice control, and smartphone connectivity for seamless controls and content management. 5. Stabilization: GoPro cameras offer various stabilization features to ensure smooth and professional-looking footage. These include electronic image stabilization (EIS) and advanced stabilization technology like HyperSmooth and HyperSmooth 2.0, which significantly reduce camera shake and vibrations. 6. Battery Life: GoPro cameras have decent battery life, depending on the model and usage. However, recording in high-resolution or using advanced features like stabilization can drain the battery faster. It's advisable to carry spare batteries or use external power solutions for extended shooting sessions. 7. Software and Editing: GoPro provides a companion app and desktop software that allows users to connect their cameras, transfer files, and edit videos with easy-to-use tools. The software provides features like trimming, color correction, adding music, and sharing directly to social media platforms. Overall, GoPro cameras offer a reliable and feature-rich solution for capturing action-packed moments and producing high-quality videos. They are well-regarded in the market for their durability, versatility, and ability to deliver stunning footage in various environments.

Buy it, It’s amazing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the 7 and 8 hero black, and this is a huge upgrade over the 7. The 8 hero not that far behind, but the 9 is simply amazing. Photos, and video are truly great on the hero 9 compared to the previous models. You’ll like this one for sure, see the attached photo! I was out late in the evening walking, and took some photos. Amazing.

So far so good
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time GoPro user. Bought when it was on sale for $329.99 and am getting my money’s worth. Opted to not get the extra waterproof case because I wasn’t planning on doing any snorkeling beyond just a few feet under water. After a week of snorkeling, battery and memory card ports remain completely dry. Took on a family trip to Maui and everyone is sure glad I bought it! Underwater video is amazing. Takes great wide angle photos. I haven’t had time to try out all the features but the stabilization is great. Mainly recording in 4k and not having any issues. Averaging a couple hours of run time with off and on recording and photo taking. The only thing I’d like to point out is that I have to set the screen to lock when recording underwater, otherwise it thinks I’m constantly tapping the screen leading to the settings changing over and over again.

Great product, but not so great for live streaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great product that has amazing quality. The screen is small but allows you to see what is going on with gray clarity. The menu is somewhat confusing, but after a few uses, you'll be able to navigate it. The app makes the menu much easier to use, but the app isn't user-friendly. Ironically, it's probably the best interface for products of this type. We specifically were looking for something that would allow us to connect to our laptop and stream through third-party online streaming services. It didn't work out quite so well and when we used the proprietary streaming software, we were limited to one outlet as a time (not able to stream to YouTube and Facebook simultaneously). I ended up returning the camera, along with the extra battery and light. I could see this camera working for someone that is recording live action or streaming to one outlet. Final verdict: Not good for live streaming through a portable setup for live broadcasts.

A Helpful Upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great upgrade from my Hero 7. Loving the front screen! The touch screen on the back is just as good as the previous models. A bit larger, so that's nice. There is however a small delay from when you press an action on the screen. It's not slow, but it's not always instant. Overall the build quality seems just as nice. The lid to open the battery is a little difficult to open, but seems with more water tight seal than my Hero 7 (which did take in water). The video quality is of course an upgrade from previous models, but only really noticeable if you take advantage of all of it's new high functioning features. Playback sound quality is fine. Good enough for a quick listen. The internal mic is also good enough for sounds close to the camera. Anything further than 3 feet starts picking up a lot of background noise. I still rate it 5 stars. GoPro is consistent and it is an upgrade. It's great quality and a flexible multipurpose camera with attachments.

Foldable connectors broke, but overall a good came
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great quality for the camera it self. Except the design for the connectors at the bottom, to connect it to attachments BROKE almost right away. So no way to fix it. So it is a good camera overall, but the bottom of it, the connectors are very easy to break off :( So now mine I can't connect it to anything. :( As for the camera the quality is good. Several neat features. Longer battery life than expected. The front display is neat, but I dont use it. But still a cool feature for those who do use it. The scheduling feature is a good concept, but rarely works properly. So, it is best to record manually. But I really love this feature, just wished it worked right. Hopefully in a firmware update they can fix this issue. It is bigger in size compared to most previous gopros. I dont mind, because the battery life is longer :) But if you are wanting to know the exact size, the dimensions are posted above. It is a bit bigger. I know some of you are picky on the size. Just think, larger = longer battery life! Make sure you have the proper SD card. It really dont matter if you video 1080 or smaller. But anything above 1080, you want a fast read/write speed SD card. Trust me on this. I will say overall besides my issue with the bottom connectors that fold out, that broke. It is a good camera. I just am not able to use mine normally, due to the foldable connectors breaking. If you are looking for a good quality action camera, and dont mind a little bigger in size. This is definitely the camera for you!

Worth buying
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far the most impressive GoPro I have ever owned. The 20MP camera functionality makes this great to bring to my kids sporting events and the 14.7MP frame grabs have been fun to pull out of the videos. I love the front screen and plan on buying a housing for any rugged activities. I have been playing around with the “Hindsight” feature (captures something like 30 seconds before you hit the button) at my kids baseball game which is really cool because I don’t need to record the whole game to find a good action shot or miss a spectacular play. By far one of the sweetest options. I am really looking forward to testing this out in the cold being it has a bigger battery that my HERO8. It is a little heavier than my HERO8, but I think the trade off is worth it for sure with the 20MP pictures and all the updates and battery life. Looking forward to getting some great video and pictures before winter.
