Allows you to Add micro hdmi audio jack and usb c charger. Not water proof though. Only downside. IMO. Looks great and love using the mod case.

It’s easy to attach, and makes recording sound better. It’s a little hard to attach it to certain mounts since the case is bulky.

Very easy to install and brings a lot of functionality. Using the light mod is a game changer for night recordings

The microphone produces nice sound but isn’t that much better than the built in one. Cold shoes are nice to have but I don’t have any other accessories. Built in USB C port is nice for continuous charge while the camera is tripod mounted and the battery is out. Battery seems to charge slower through the media mod though when the battery is installed.

The media housing fits perfectly. Although by removing the battery door, the waterproofing is lost. Works great.

If you use your GoPro on a motorcycle, you need to have this mod. The original mic is just too bad. Con: You need to dismount the camera - in my case from the helmet- to change the battery. So you have to adjust the mounting position again. Biggest con - why do I need this mod on a $300 camera? Their mic should just be better.

Fits really snug. Excited to order the back screen when it’s released. Bought the additional light. Easy to use.

The Hero 8 is a great camera, but it's smallness means one has to open the battery compartment to plug in charger. This Media Mod Case solves that, and really enhances the audio on recordings when the subject is in front of the camera, not wearing it on it's head.... It doesn't improve the cumbersomeness of moving the camera from mounting to mounting.

The case is great for protection, fits and works really well. I use it all time. Plus I bought it for the speaker so I can pick up better audio. No complaints

Perfect use and fit for gopro 8 black. Only downfall is it becomes more dificult to use with some handles and tie downs

Awesome mod case! Purchased this to livestream our wedding & the microphone was a concern that we wouldn’t hear our vows. This case was exceptional & picked up sound all the way to the back of the venue where we were married. The extra slots for adding the light mod was really great, too!

The media mod kit definitely enhances the audio input and is an inexpensive upgrade that provides excellent audio quality. And my personal opinion: this is a must-have for anyone looking for better audio quality with their GoPro 8 Hero Black.

I bought this mainly so I can attach the light on it which is kind of expensive just to be able to attach the light. But it is actually pretty cool and the mic is much better then the one inside the camera. Not sure if it’s worth it but it sure is cool

This is one of the best GoPro accessories. The feature of having a front and rear mic selection is good. Sound quality is now much better. Being able to add an external light and a second display is also a great feature.

I added this to my hero 8 and there was an improved sound quality. I have yet to utilize the mounts for accessories on it, but looking at comparison YouTube videos it's actually worth the money. I'll be trying a rode boom mic on it in the coming days.
