A spare is definitely a must. Used the spare on a snowboarding trip down to about 0 F. Cold did affect it but it still gave a good amount of time to shoot.

I always buy extra batteries for any electronics I buy. I prefer OEM batteries for my GoPro Hero 5, and this one worked exactly as described by the manufacturer.

The Go Pro cameras are battery hogs. Tou should purchase the charger that comes with a spare battery as well. You'll definately need it.

If you have a GoPro you know batteries are a must. If you are working with your first one you will soon find out you cannot buy enough.

These batteries have a bad habit of the plastic tab breaking off which makes it hard to get the battery out of the camera. These batteries also have a bad habit of swelling up and then they are hard to get in/out of the camera. Based on these two items, if you use your GoPro frequently like I do on my motorcycle, you will find you need to replace batteries about every 6 months. So while the construction is poor, GoPro have priced these relatively cheap at $19.99 so it doesn't break the bank when you have to buy new. That price is much more reasonable than Sony or Nikon would charge.

Good standard battery. If you own or plan on owning a gopro hero 5. Get use to seeing yourself buy plenty of these for back up batteries while you are out and about.

I bought 2 of these for my new GoPro Hero7 Black. They can charge up in 90 minutes and last several hours depeding on how much recording.

This works great. It is best to use the GoPro batteries. No problems like I have seen with the aftermarket batteries. Better battery life.

Spend the few more bucks on the gopro batteries then the 3rd party ones. The work fine in AZ heat while shooting 4k30 on my hero 7 black
