However, some customers have noted that the scooter struggles on hills and is not lightweight, which can make charging difficult. Additionally, a few users have mentioned concerns about the headlight brightness and the scooter's size.

My GoTrax Flex Voyager Electric Scooter arrived securely packaged-actually double boxed and inside were foam, cardboard, and plastic to further protect it. The package was much heavier than I expected despite it being advertised as weighing around 60 pounds and it took two people to safely transfer it. The assembly took about 15 minutes and that included reading over the instructions. It came in four pieces-the handlebars, padded seat, wire basket, and the body of the scooter where the tires were already installed and inflated (suggested 36psi). Included were the hex wrench and Allen wrench needed for assembly. Matte gray is the only color available but makes it unisex in appearance. Out of the box it had a minimal charge and as advertised it required almost 6 hours of charging the lithium-ion battery before use. The battery’s level of charge is displayed on a small LCD screen situated on the right handlebar. The Flex Voyager will need to be stored out of the elements and be kept out of the rain because it is rated to be water-resistant, not waterproof and the instructions warn that the elements may cause damage to the finish and/or electrical components of the scooter. It’s fold ability aids in storing it but its weight doesn’t lend itself to being easily carried up and down stairs. I had previously purchased two other electric scooters. They were the stick-type that you stand on and the type that resembles a small motorbike. This was my first experience with a sit down scooter and my first impression was that it resembled a scaled down version of the Spree scooter from the 80’s and I immediately thought that it could be used by almost everyone in my home. The fact that you can sit while operating it seems like it would be much safer than a minibike, while relieving the stress that standing for extended periods inflicts on your joints. The headlight while functional could definitely stand to be brighter. The basket, while sturdy, would be greatly improved if it was enclosed and had a lid of some sort to contain the contents. Even though it’s only advertised to operate at a max speed of 15-½ mph (with a max operating distance of 15miles) I was surprised that there was no sort of speedometer to monitor your pace. I actually used an app on my cell phone to track my speed and on a flat stretch of several miles of roadway I maxed out at just around 14 mph. This scooter would be great for transporting someone in college from their dorm to classes and could be secured on a bike rack. It would also be terrific for short trips to close locations like a friend’s house or a convenience store. I’m not sure I would feel comfortable riding the scooter in traffic because of it’s low profile (40 inches tall) that could possibly prevent drivers from seeing you. There is a red rear break light that illuminates when the brakes are engaged (the left handlebar controls the front and the right handle bar controls the rear) but it is missing a rear view mirror that would be a necessity for safe lane changing. It does have a headlight (turn the key-two are included-to the right to turn it on), but I don’t consider it to be bright enough for night riding. The weight limit on the scooter is around 265 pounds and at the maximum weight capacity it did perform as nimbly on flat surfaces as it did for my 60lb eight-year-old grandson. However, as expected, hills required a bit more effort on the engine’s part. It accelerated and turned smoothly and the wide, 14-inch, air-filled tires and suspension contributed to a very smooth handling even over bumps and cracks in the road. The seat was comfortably padded and easily adjusted via a quick release clamp beneath the seat. This model safely transports only one person at a time as the seat only accommodates one. The learning curve with the scooter was very short and the younger members of my household seemed to catch on more quickly. This may be the result of their carefree willingness to push it “to the limit”. A side note gleamed from this is that you may require an extended stopping distance dependent on your incline, speed, and load. The GoTrax Flex Voyager delivered as promised, appears to be solidly built, and it’s definitely an affordable option for someone looking to purchase an entry-level electric scooter. While it does not have all the bells and whistles available it definitely addresses the majority of the “must haves”.

It's very reliable, i only wish that the battery would last longer and that the seat was more comfortable, and if we could increase the speed, it would be amazing transportation, and maybe change the color too that Gray is hideous.

Go Trax is a fun e bike. The charger gets very hot while charging. Takes 5-6 hours to charge and you only get maybe 12 miles out of it so maybe 70 minutes of riding.
