I had biught this for a weekend of camping and when we would ride it i totally didnt relize how slow 15 mph was and didn't have the power to take me up any size hill. It was fun for about a week then after that just got boring. This is more for someone who is lighter or younger but it is cool. The price is not right should be cheaper

Works well while moving on avg. Mine had a fault however that was dangerous. the spring on the throttle handle was turned. It would click and snap into the handle. It caused me to get ran over by the scooter and damages.

The Flex Voyager scooter was easy to assemble, taking roughly 15 minutes from unboxing to full assembly. The only tools required were a wrench and hex key, both of which are included. The scooter ships mostly assembled, so I only had to attach the steering post, seat and basket.
The Voyager utilizes a key start system with two keys included. It also sports two hand brakes, pneumatic shocks, front and rear LED lights (also activated via key turn), and a rear basket. I was concerned about the aesthetics of the basket at first, but it didn’t look bad after assembly and has proven to be quite useful. I carry a few small lightweight bungee cords to keep items inside the basket secure during movement.
The scooter accelerates by twisting the throttle on right hand grip. The battery indicator is on the same grip and is bright and easily spottable during riding. Both the acceleration and speed caught me by surprise. No rolling start is required to activate and it accelerates briskly. Top speeds feel like they’re hitting specs or even occasionally above. It supposedly tops out at 15 mph but sometimes feels faster. Hills and inclines affect performance, but not drastically unless really steep. I don’t feel any noticeable struggling on the small gradually rolling hills in my area.
The Voyager has good balance and handling during riding and never feels unsteady or wobbly. The steering feels reassuringly responsive and the scooter is easy to handle and store even while powered off. The front and rear LED lights are bright and provide good visibility at night. Other perks include a strong well-balanced kickstand for parking, good battery life, and the keyed start system provides a tiny bit more theft resistance when out. In addition to recreational riding on nearby (paved) park trails, the Voyager is convenient for short jaunts to nearby stores and restaurants within a mile or two of my home. I have a ton of fun zipping around my neighborhood on this gem.

Received the GoTrax - FLEX VOYAGER Electric Scooter a few days ago and couldn’t wait to take it for a spin. I saw the delivery guy try to walk the big box across my lawn, so I ran out to give him a hand all the way to the garage. It came well packed, practically double boxed, with all the right packing material. The scooter is a bit on the heavy side, weighing just over 60lbs. Assembly was very easy, all the tools needed came with it. They also include a 6” extension tube to help inflate the tires. I did not need to use it because the tires were already fully inflated. First thing I did after removing all the packing material was to plug in the charger so the battery can get some juice ASAP, since it takes at least 4 hours to fully charge.
Assembling the big cushion, comfortable seat was probably the most involved but still easy. I had to tighten it more after trying it in the driveway because it was turning under load.
Make sure the handle bar is also angled and tightened properly for a safe and comfortable ride.
Once the battery was fully charged, I put my bicycle helmet on and took it for a spin around the neighborhood.
The seat was comfortable, barely feeling any bumps thanks to the rear suspension and seat springs. Acceleration is smooth, not violent. My street has a bit of an incline, so I averaged 11.5mph, but managed a top speed of 17.6mph while going down hill a bit. There seems to be some regenerative braking, especially when you use the rear break. Stopping power is good with both front and rear brakes, and especially if you let off the throttle. The weather wasn’t suitable for me to ride it long enough to drain the battery, but for the couple of miles I rode, the green LED gauge did not even go down a line, so the 15 mile range seems doable, depending on terrain and overall weight of the rider.
Very useful accessories preinstalled - fenders to prevent water/debris kick-up; front and rear LED lamps that can be turned on and off, classic bicycle bell and easy to install rear storage basket is also included.
All in all, this is a solid built electric scooter, easy to ride and comes with a 2-year warranty which is better than most other e-scooters at this price point.

This scooter is a lot of fun with a very smooth enjoyable ride. It’s easy to operate and has a key for security. Comes with good features such as disc brakes, lights, and a basket. It’s perfect for short trips. It can handle moderate hills, but not steep ones. Milage seems accurate. Only drawbacks are lack of speedometer, battery is not removable (or at least not easily), and is relatively heavy.
Build and Setup
• Easy to set up. Everything goes together like Legos. Solid and well thought out design.
• Comfortable seat, good tires, adjustable suspension, quality components.
• Disc brakes work well. You can also adjust them.
Performance
• Good acceleration. Holds top speed on flats easily and smoothly.
• Excellent for shorter trips. (school, work (if close), pool, to get the mail, close errands, friend’s house.)
• 350-watt motor performs acceptably on moderate small hills. Was able to get up my 45 degree driveway.
• Mileage seems accurate.
• Good weight limit. I think they say 265 lbs. I’m 212 lbs. without any issues.
Appearance and Features
• Attractive overall look
• Front headlight and taillight for visibility
• Small basket and kickstand. Kickstand works well.
• Key to turn on/off scooter and control lights. Along for security.
Issues
• Probably a no go on steep hills (don’t have any to test).
• No speedometer. Which is an odd choice.
• Charging port on the bottom, battery not removable. Likely for security.
• Not lightweight which can make charging difficult. But also helps from theft.

The Scooter was easy to put together that took about 20 minutes. The size of the scooter seems to be larger for shorter individuals. The cushion is very comfortable. You have access to a brake light as well. It comes with a twist throttle that isn't going to let off fast. It is easily controllable.
The handlebar was very short in width. It did feel kind of weird. Don't expect the scooter to climb steep inclines. It is great for flat surface riding. It only gets up to 15 mph which I see more for beginners or children. Yet, it is a comfortable ride. The front light isn't the brightest. It comes with a basket which mush isn't going to fit. I do like the color. The build quality is solid and rigid. The brakes on mine were dialed in perfectly.
My ride was modernly smooth. It had just rained and the ground was still damp. The scooter handled well with its smaller wheels. This was on flat ground. You will feel more vibration of course when you are on uneven ground. Very very quiet, You barely hear a noise. I do wish it was faster.

The GoTrax Flex Voyager scooter is my first electric vehicle from this brand, though not my first e-bike. I like its design because it is foldable for storage and has a height adjustable seat which is perfect for shorter riders like myself. While it does not have manual foot pedals like a traditional bicycle, it rides like one while you’re seated, and you can also ride fully standing as a scooter. It comes with a basket, headlight, and signal bell.
There are a few assembly steps required out-of-the-box, and you’ll receive the tools needed, an Allen wrench and fixed wrench, as well as illustrated instructions. Putting it together consists of attaching the handlebar, assembling and adjusting the saddle (seat), and installing the rear basket. Assembly took me about 10 minutes on my own.
The saddle cushion is thick and comfortable, can be tilted forward or back, and rotates as well. It is wrapped in a faux leather material, though mine arrived with a tiny tear near the seam on one side, so that doesn’t bode well for its longevity. I use the lowest height setting for the seat as this allows me to mount and dismount easily. A quick-release clamp lets you adjust the seat height on-the-fly, if there are multiple users. The deck is also a decent size measuring 8 inches wide and 16 inches front to back, allowing me to place both feet on the board side-by-side or one in front of the other.
The kickstand lets you park the scooter free-standing. Its wide tires are suitable for paved surfaces or roads and should be inflated to 36 PSI, made easier by the inclusion of a short, flexible fill tube extension. I was surprised to find that the scooter also travelled across my uncut grassy lawn with relative ease, at least in the flat areas. The tires should be able to handle dirt and gravel paths as well, though we don’t have any near me that I was able to ride on. The fenders help prevent the wheels from kicking up a lot of mud and dirt. Just note that while the device has an IPX4 water-resistance rating for incidental splashes, it is not waterproof and should not be used or left in wet conditions which may damage the finish and electronics.
Fully assembled, the scooter measure 53” long, 39” tall, and 20” wide at the handle bars. It is fairly hefty at a little over 60 lbs though is rated to carry up to 264 lbs. The frame is made from durable aluminum alloy metal tubing, and the battery and electronics are housed in a compartment beneath the deck. Inside is a non-replaceable 36V x 8Ah battery and 350 Watt motor and much of the wiring runs through the frame, though are exposed at the handle bar and rear/front wheels where they attach to external components. The rear basket a bit small at 9”L x 12”W x 5”H but would fit a few groceries or a backpack; I’d recommend using bungee cables to keep things strapped in so they don’t bounce out. There’s also a hook on the main stem where you can hang a small bag or your helmet.
You’ll want to charge the battery fully before first use, which takes about 5.5 hours if depleted. The charger is a laptop-style power brick with a barrel connector that plugs into a port under the deck protected by a rubber plug. When charging, the LED on the adapter will be red and turns green when the battery is fully charged.
Each tire is fitted with a reflector and there is another at the front below the headlight which is decent, but not super bright. At the rear, a red brake light flashes any time you engage the front or rear brakes. A simple single-strike bell is pre-mounted at the left handlebar grip that you can ring with your thumb, and at the right handlebar are the throttle and LCD that displays the remaining battery life using 4 progress bars. The LCD does not show current travel speed, distance, or travel time.
The motor has a keyed ignition which makes it slightly more difficult for it to be stolen. Two keys are included for your convenience; however, it’s unclear whether or not you can order replacements. Turning the key to the right twice turns on the headlamp at the front. The motor is engaged by twisting the half grip throttle towards you, and the speed is adjustable depending on the amount that you turn it. The top speed achievable is around 15.5 mph and it has a max range of 15 miles on a single charge, though this can be affected by things like terrain, load weight, and riding/braking habits. When you turn it off, the headlight will also turn off.
The motor on this scooter ramps up gradually but it can accelerate rapidly. I found that small bumps were adequately absorbed by the rear shock absorbers while seated, however, I could not get the seat to stop swiveling not matter how much I tightened the clamp’s thumbscrew, which was a little annoying. I was surprised how well the scooter handled going uphill with inclines around 15-20°, resulting in only a moderate decrease in speed, though you could tell the motor was working hard, and it did struggle on steeper gradients. Inertia probably helped somewhat since I found that releasing the throttle mid-ascent could leave you walking the rest of the way if the scooter couldn’t pick up enough speed to continue uphill.
The disc brakes for the scooter are engaged using hand levers, and you simply squeeze the left one for the front brakes and right for rear brakes. Just remember to apply the rear brakes slightly before the front ones for better control of the weight transfer in the event of a sudden stop. You’ll need to start applying the brakes a lot sooner than you might expect though, as you need a lot of stopping distance to come to a full stop. At top speed, it took me nearly 25 ft to come to a complete stop when applying both brakes fully. Brake strength is adjustable as well as the amount of absorption from the suspension.
Overall, as my first e-scooter, my experience with the Flex Voyager has been really great so far. It was easy to put together and nearly as simple as riding as a manual bike or scooter. The battery can get you to a pretty far distance, and the top speed is zippy but not scary fast. If you ride infrequently, you’ll need to remember to charge it prior to riding and maintain the battery by topping it up every few months. Since it’s not waterproof, you will have to store it indoors or in a sheltered location protected from sun and rain. Due to its weight, however, I wouldn’t recommend it for folks who’d have to carry it up and down a lot of steps.

A Journey of Build Quality vs Bumps Along the Road

The Voyager is a solidly built hybrid electric scooter that lowers the entry level for riders of all ages. It’s easy to assemble and incredibly fun to ride, which sometimes makes it hard to point out or remember the negatives. And there are a couple of important ones that need to be discussed, but I’d like to address the pros first, because there are many.
From the moment you open the box and take the Voyager out, you’re struck with the build quality. The smooth ends on the tubular steel frame, the consistent welds and the precise way the steering yoke locks into place all make you feel like something that’s safe to ride. And that’s important because riding a sit-down hybrid scooter is quite different from riding an e-bike or e-motorcycle. There’s no pedals or foot pegs; instead, there’s a flat platform (which is wide enough to plant your feet side by side and feels sturdy). And steering is very different from a bicycle; you turn less aggressively and lean in with your body a bit. It takes a little getting used to but quickly becomes muscle memory.
I found the acceleration a little surprising on the first launch, but it seems to ramp up slower after that first launch which to me is perfectly acceptable for this type of scooter. On my first test ride, I didn’t think it was going anywhere near the advertised speed but after bringing a speedometer app with me, I was easily able to get it up near 12 mph. Obviously, speed and range are going to be affected by the weight of the rider and cargo, but I was pleasantly surprised by the speed and handling.
Initial rides on flat ground were impressive, but I wanted to see how it handled hills, so I tested two different grades; one that was subtle but enough to still feel like you were walking up a grade and another that I often went up with my mountain bike that required more effort. On the first hill, the Voyager slowed a little bit although it didn’t seem to labor much. I was expecting the second one to bring it to a standstill and while it did struggle a bit, I was surprised at how well it handled it considering that on my bike I would have to lower the gear and pedal standing! This is definitely a scooter designed for more level ground and pavement, and if you live in an area with a lot of hilly areas, I wouldn’t recommend it (with this power configuration anyway) but it was nice to know that the Voyager could at least handle the hills in my area when necessary.
The ride was fairly smooth, but I had to adjust my rear shocks properly as they are set for a pretty rough ride at the factory. Even with the shocks and seat springs you have to be careful of potholes as you really feel it, especially through the handlebars. Fortunately the 14 inch pneumatic tires also soak up a lot of vibration so I can’t complain too much.
There are a few negatives though and most of them are connected to the price point. For the price I think the Voyager have included a 500-watt motor rather than the 350-watt as configured. This would have improved the grade performance immensely and also would be more in line with what competitors are offering (sometimes for less). There’s NO instrumentation beyond a simple four segment meter to display the battery level. Now you can argue that you can get a phone app to do this, but at this price I would expect either instrumentation more in line with competitors. (Or at least include a phone holder!)
Then there’s the seat mount. It’s really difficult to get this thing tight enough. The first time I rode the Voyager I hit a little bump and the seat bottomed out in the stem – not a pleasant experience for my tailbone! After messing with it I managed to get it tight enough so that it didn’t do that again, but every time I would shift to check traffic behind me the seat would swivel. I’m afraid that if I tighten it any more, I’ll break the plastic lever that locks it in place. If they’d spend a few extra bucks and either made the lever out of metal or redesigned the clamp itself this wouldn’t be an issue.
Also, the brakes on my Voyager were reversed on the handlebars compared to the standard of right lever controls the back brake, the left lever the front brake. This made stopping for the first time a bit of a harrowing experience. While remounting them wasn’t impossible, it wasn’t trivial either. In checking around on the internet, I wasn’t the only reviewer that experienced this.
Finally, there’s the weight. While that steel tubing makes for a solid build it also contributes to the overall weight. (Another case for the bigger motor!) The Voyager is foldable – almost remarkably so – and would fit in the rear of any standard SUV or even the back seat of some cars. But if you have a high lift over like my SUV does, it’s a bit of a struggle.
If I was grading this simply on how much fun it is to ride and what potential it gives you for quick trips downtown, around a park or local shopping trips on urban/suburban streets, I’d give the Flex Voyager 5 stars without hesitation. I’m really looking forward to enjoying myself when the weather allows and planning on taking it to the Farmer’s Market on weekends. But given the pricing and the things I mentioned, I’d put this in a short list with other competitors and suggest you do your research before making a purchase decision.

This is a review of the FLEX VOYAGER Electric Scooter w/15mi Max Operating Range & 15.5mph Max Speed.
Although I have an e-bike, this is my first electric scooter, so I have no basis for comparison. In general, I was favorably impressed with the FLEX VOYAGER. Assembly was super-easy, taking no more than 5 minutes. I did have a little difficulty getting the seat to lock in firmly at the correct height; on my first ride the seat came down. I think that this is simply a generic issue with quick-release seats. You have to tighten it to a point where you can barely collapse the quick-release handle, then it stays up just fine.
The manual says charging time is 5.5 hours, but the battery must have arrived nearly fully charged because the charge box showed full charge in less than a half hour. There is something odd about the design of the LCD battery power display showing the remaining charge. You will see in the photo I took that the LCD contains 4 grids, the top 3 of which are lit green. At first, I thought the scooter was not fully charged because the manual says, "When the battery is fully charged, it shows full charge (4 grids) . . . When there is one grid left, it is marked as low power and needs to be recharged. After some use, I realized that on full charge, only the top 3 grids light up. With use, the 3 green grids are unlit, one at a time, and when the last grid lights amber, it is time to recharge.
I also ran into something a little odd when I tried to register the bike. Normally to register a product for a warranty, you need to enter the date you bought the product and the serial number. But after I successfully created an account on the FLEX site, I found no place to register the scooter. The warranty and return policies are carefully described and seem reasonable. I guess you have to hang on to your invoice for proof of purchase date, should you ever need to return or repair under warranty.
The performance of the scooter was fine, just as I expected. It performed best on relatively flat or downhill areas and had to work a little on a hill that was 8% grade. FLEX does make a more powerful scooter, so if you live in a hilly area and are impatient about speed, you might want to opt for the more powerful model. For me, I was satisfied.
I purposely chose a scooter that included a basket, which is very handy for quick trips to the grocery store. All-in-all, I like this scooter.

The FLEX VOYAGER is a reliable and steady electric scooter, ideal for those seeking a comfortable and long-lasting ride. I discovered these after using the Flex Voyager as well. The FLEX VOYAGER is an excellent piece of equipment that is rideable by anybody weighing more than 250 pounds. I immediately recognized this as someone who rides large. I felt secure and safe riding the bike's sturdy metal alloy frame as I swiftly went through the downtown streets. The FLEX VOYAGER's long-distance capabilities are quite remarkable. The scooter is a practical mode of transportation for daily commutes to work or quick excursions around the city. It can travel up to fifteen miles on a single battery. It was so amazing that I could travel farther without worrying about running out of power. The only vehicle with 14.5-inch flexible tires is the FLEX VOYAGER. With these tires, you may drive over cracks and other road hazards with ease, improving the comfort of the ride. Because you could maintain control and stability even at faster speeds, riding it was enjoyable and simple. The 350-watt engine of the FLEX VOYAGER enables it to climb steep climbs quickly and effortlessly. How easily it increased to its maximum speed of about 15.5 mph truly astounded me. This scooter makes getting about enjoyable and simple, whether you're riding in bike lanes or across traffic. When moving for an extended period of time, you should make sure you're comfy. The wide deck of the FLEX VOYAGER allows riders with larger feet to sit in a comfortable position. This bike features a neat feature that allows riders of all shapes and sizes to adjust the seat height. Long rides were also painless thanks to the pneumatic tires' superior stress reduction. Safety precautions are widely used when riding faster. The FLEX VOYAGER's back brake makes stopping simple and quick. Bright LED headlights and tail lights are featured for improved visibility, particularly at night. As a rider, safety is very important to me, therefore it was wonderful to see that these adjustments were carefully thought out. This FLEX VOYAGER is incredibly compact and long-lasting. This scooter folds up without any gaps, making it easy to store in compact areas. It can be lifted and relocated as needed. The FLEX VOYAGER is among the best electric scooters for traveling around the city. Because it can support a large weight, has a long range, and rides smoothly, this scooter is excellent for heavier users or those looking for something solid and reliable. The FLEX VOYAGER is a reliable vehicle for any type of travel, be it weekend adventures or commuting through the city to go to work. The only thing wrong with this scooter is that its LCD solely displays battery life, which is displayed as bars rather than percentages. It doesn't display speed or distance traveled, for instance. The FLEX VOYAGER is a fantastic option if you're looking for an electric scooter that is dependable, has a large range, and has very few minor issues. Put on your helmet, settle in, and get ready to have fun.

The Flex Voyager is a nice little electric scooter that is fun and easy to ride, without breaking the bank. The Flex Voyager arrived well packaged in double shipping boxes with the scooter neatly folded inside. Though mostly assembled, I did have to attached the handlebars, seat, and basket; which took maybe 10 minutes, but was extremely easy and straightforward with the provided tools.
Out of the box, the battery needed to be charged which GoTrax states can take up to 5 hours to fully charge the 36V 8ah battery. Once charged, the bike features a 2-position keyed start with optional running lights for additional safety and security. The 14 inch tires provide a smooth ride and firm grip on pavement. I found the Flex to be quite comfortable considering there is only suspension in the rear. You aren’t going over any big holes or changes in pavement without feeling it, but the cushioned seat makes it surprisingly soft. The acceleration of the 350W motor is smooth, almost leisurely for my 150lb frame. Despite only capable of 15.5 mph, I found the speed adequate for riding through neighborhoods or running to a nearby store if you don’t have busy roads. Unfortunately, there is no speedometer to reference though it does provide a battery “fuel gauge” to help estimate usage of your suggested 15 mile range. The scooter does have front and rear drum brakes that seem to do a great job of stopping it. The bell is a bit cheap, but nice that something is provided. The included basket is rated for 50lbs and does adds utility to the scooter. The Flex Voyager’s handlebars can even fold down to reduce the footprint so you can store it in a trunk, though keep in mind it is 60lbs.
As an alternative to a bicycle or standup electric scooter, the Flex is a great choice by combining the form factors into a fun, versatile scooter.

Received the GoTrax - FLEX VOYAGER Electric Scooter about 5 days ago and had to wait until the horrible storms to pass to take it out for a test drive! But the wait was worth it. I will say this is not a light box for a single person, it is over 50lbs.
Now for the setup! The process was really easy and straight forward. Everything is in the box that you need, I did have to inflate the tires just a little bit, but there is a tube that comes with it that allows you to quickly knock that out if needed. The frame is really sturdy and I liked that because I know it will handle some weight. Overall I had it assembled in about 30 minutes and got the the battery charged.
I came back the next day because it recommends to charge fully for 5.5hours. I got it all setup and off I went! I had to turn back because well I didn't tighten the handle bars tight enough, my bad. Once that was done off the races I went. This little scooter zipped around on my street like it was nothing!
Now to put it through its paces I went to the next street over to test going to the gas station, which has a very small hill. This met its limitations as it came to a crawling pace as it tried to climb the hill. This is a drawback I found. On flat roads it fly's around no problem, even hitting the occasional bump was bad as the shocks provided enough bounce it didn't hurt.
I will say that the handle bars are a little on the small side, but for going around the neighborhood, to the local store in small communities, this thing excelled. I had my wife and nephew try it out and they are a much smaller thinner build then me and they handled it better than I did.
Overall I liked the build quality and the actually peppiness of the battery when going. I did like the included digital batter gauge and was pretty accurate and you could tell that quality was a criteria when they built this.

Getting older our knees just aren’t what they used to be and we were looking at seated scooters for awhile now. We were lucky enough to be given a chance to try out the new Voyager Flex from GoTrax and we jumped at the opportunity.
Unboxing and assembling:
The scooter came in a heavily logoed box that did a decent job protecting it even with it being banged around quite a bit by the shipping company. After removing all the plastic wrap, protective padding and zip ties putting it together was almost easier. The only thing that needs attaching is the basket and handlebars, only 6 screws "using included hex wrench", and maybe 20 minutes. The handlebar upright is folded and you just swing it up and flip the locking handle.
The seat post is held by a simple locking clamp and the seat is held onto it by another clamp that you tighten down using the included box end wrench. You can also adjust the seat angle by loosening the same nut and adjust to your liking. The last thing was to check air in the tires and the factory suggests 36lbs, the front was only 30 but the back was 36 so after filling the front we were ready to try it out.
First impressions:
The scooter feels like it’s really well built, it’s not lightweight by any means and the 60+lb weight shows it. The tires are larger than your normal scooters “14”” and are pneumatic so they help absorb some shock “our other scooters had solid wheels and didn’t absorb much of anything”. The rear tire has dual “adjustable” shocks mounted on a swing arm and that setup really absorbs the bumps. The front doesn’t have a shock but there’s really no need for one on the front as most shock would be felt from the rear.
The seat is very well padded “much more than a typical bicycle seat” and is wide and comfortable, it also has springs underneath absorbing a good bit of shock there too. The handles are heavy duty rubber and easy to grip with no slippage. There’s also a “very basic” bicycle bell and enough to get someone’s attention if you ding it enough. The basket on the back has just enough room for a small package and nice to have for running some errands. The deck is a lot wider than other scooters we had, it’s very sturdy and has no flex to it at all. The rubber pad covering the deck is nice and thick and has a good amount of grip to it so your feet won’t slip off easily even if wet.
Now this is a very basic scooter, tech wise, “very basic” there’s no telemetry, Bluetooth or any type of tracking / monitoring with this. You’ll have to rely on smart devices for that “which we have plenty”. At least it does come with a key start/lock and does come with two keys. You’ll have to get chain or cable to secure it as there’s nothing keeping someone from “borrowing it” without permission.
Using:
When the scooter arrived, it was partially charged so as soon as it was assembled, we charged it up using the included 120v charger. The charging port does have a rubber cover over it but that’s so flimsy it would be easy to accidentally pull it off, “will see how long this lasts”.
The scooter does take a key to turn on and operate, there are two settings, the first turns on the scooter for daytime use and turning further turns on the headlamp and tail light. The tail light flashes when you apply either the front or rear brake and is a nice feature. Next to the key is a LED display that only shows the battery level, nothing else “do wish a speedometer were here”. The throttle is on the right side and is only about 1/3rd of the right grip so it takes a bit of getting used to and we would have preferred either a full-length motorcycle type throttle or thumb lever throttle as the small throttle is easy to keep engaged while holding onto the grip making it harder to release and slow down.
Now driving this is a blast, its top speed is rated at 15.5 and according to our smart watches the fastest we got it up to was 14.3mph, but we really didn’t push it either. The rear shocks really absorb bumps, much more than any stand-up scooter we’ve had. Acceleration is pretty decent, not knock you off your seat fast, but it’s more than enough, and safer as you won’t worry about giving it too much and getting away from you. This is also rated having a 15-mile range, and that was just a tad short as we ran it down one day and got close to 17 miles total. We charged it overnight and don’t know exactly how long it took but it was full by morning. The 350w motor isn’t super powerful torque wise and going up the incline of our driveway seemed to tax it, especially with me driving it “I’m 210lbs”, still made it to the top but slow at full throttle”, but it didn’t slow down much for my wife as she’s only 115lbs so there’s a pretty big difference weight wise there. But on a flat surface the motor is plenty strong for either of us and it rolls so easy you have to be careful going down an incline as it speeds up very easily “just be ready to brake”.
At night the headlight is surprisingly bright and no way someone would miss seeing you, and the rear light “although very low down” is plenty also for being noticed and since it flashes once brakes are applied help keep the rider safe. The brake light does not turn on in the day mode so you may want to ride with all the lights on just to feel safer and we didn’t notice that much of a drop in range using it that way.
The scooter is so simple to operate, and with it having an actual seat, it’s way easier “at least for us older people” than trying to stand and take off with a regular scooter, “not as hard on the knees from standing either”. It is also very maneuverable just like a standard scooter and I’ve even “very slowly and carefully” ridden it in the house moving it to a different location inside. When my wife rides it she has to have the seat all the way down for it to fit her “5’2” “ and for me about ¾ the way up is good for me so it could accommodate someone taller “I’m 5’10””.
Conclusion:
If you want a scooter and something a little different, that’s sort of an in-between from a stand-up scooter and a e-bike this new Voyager Flex is really going to fit the bill. It’s so easy to operate anyone with any experience riding anything with two wheels won’t have problem operating this right away. The Flex is very well built and feels like it will last for many years, there’s nothing flimsy about this scooter and we are really enjoying our rides around the neighborhood. It’s not perfect “what is” but this Flex is the best one we’ve had or tried yet.
