Customers praise Gran Turismo 7's impressive graphics and engaging gameplay, along with its wide selection of cars and realistic driving experience. However, criticism centers around the game's microtransactions, which some players find excessive and impacting the overall enjoyment. Concerns were also raised regarding the game's price point and the always-online requirement.

Not a fan. $70 for a game that does not truly show the power of the Playstation 5

Props to Sony and Polyphony. This game takes the best parts of previous iterations and combines them to make a fantastic new entry. Graphics, game physics, depth and options are through the roof. Whether it’s different styles of plays (story, free racing, missions, etc) or car customization, there is something for everyone.

Avoid. Microtransaction money pit. Insane grind

This game is a slap to the face from previous installments. They raised the prices on all cars, they raised the prices on all parts. Made it impossibly difficult to obtain credits to buy cars or modify them, and you can’t even sell if you get duplicates. They trick the gamers into thinking that they have a good chance at obtaining great rewards during their Roulette Tickets, but it would give you the lowest paid reward, about 3000 credits, for context some tires cost 30000 credits. The system is rigged to make the cars very difficult to obtain by proving invites only purchases, and not allowing a decent amount of time to collect said credits. It’s rigged to force you to buy credits and fall into the microtransaction black hole. Stay away!

Great potential spoiled by greed and grinding.

Great potential, spoiled by greed and grinding. The fact that one car can cost upwards of $180 in Microtransactions or 40+ hours of grinding, destroys the enjoyment of the franchise. It's simply impossible to collect a garage of various vehicles without grinding at it like a full time game.
The game reviews didn't have the Microtransactions explained or made available, thus initial good reviews glossed over this point.

No "arcade" mode, may frustrate some players

First off let me say, this game is good. If you enjoy the grind, which most GT players do. However, this game lacks the classic "arcade mode" which lets you jump into any car, on any track outside of the career mode. This lack of access to content out-of-the-box, in a solo mode that affects no other players, is likely to frustrate my autistic son, so we'll see how it goes. Great game but disappointed that something as basic as an "arcade mode" (a staple for most racing games) is not part of this game, at least not yet.

Its all about microtransactions.

Game looks amazing. Its fun to play to a point. But the developer has reduced the payouts on races to almost nothing. Its also raised car prices to ridiculous amounts to "mimic the current market". So because real life is awful now your game has to be too. Noone is paying 100k for an AP1 S2000. Theyre trying to push you into microtransactions to spend 20 bucks on in game cash. Unless you have 1200+ hours to grind doing the max payout races to get all the cars, without even upgrading them, skip this game.

Good graphics, pyshics are also spot on. However… no offline option and insane money for cars kills the game. Dont buy at full price!

Recent update ruined game economy

Shortly after release they updated the game and cut winning credits from most races in half. They are clearly attempting to push microtransactions as even most upgrade parts for vehicles cost more then the winnings of a single race.

Greed ruined this game

This game is now driven by greed from microtransactions. Avoid. Watch the negative reviews roll in now due to that last update where they made it impossible for the everyday gamer to get the good cars

Bought the game on the PSN store, and they decided to change the game 2 weeks after purchase. The update pushed people to microtransactions which was unnacceptable.

Baffling design decisions even outside of MTX

Even aside from the microtransactions and in game currency rewards, this game from a design choice aspect is a disappointment. For example for the single player "Cafe" I am asked to unlock British racing classics, but the races I am participating in are the races I'm supposed to win to unlock the cars I'm supposed to use in these races. So its a catch 22...So I just use a souped up car and instant win because the game doesn't restrict me from doing so.
