I was never a fan of the GTA series but this one caught my eye with the online play as I always thought that was the one thing that could get me interested in the series but even that in the end wasn't enough. This game has so many issues including the lack of customization, even with the brightness game option turned all the way up I still can't read the display on the in-game cell phone unless I turn my tv brightness up as well, lack of vehicles (the series has been going for some time now so you would think the vehicles would be spectacular although the helicopter is a nice addition) and perhaps my biggest issue with this abomination is that the game isn't formatted to fit all screens and doesn't have a display option to change it. Overall I would still recommend it to a friend becuase a lot of people love this series but I would likely advise them to hold off for Saints Row 2.

If you are into long boring games then this is a game for you.. If not, do not waste your time.. Im kind of tired of this over and over again.. shooting people running over people busting drive by's.. gets kind of boring.. I wish they would remake the San Andreas one.. now that game was fun.. It had so much realistic things that kind of remind you of real life in the ghettos of LA. lol..

I love this game. Sometimes a bit like the others but overall very good. I recommend it to anyone

While the 360 version is the definitive version of GTA IV, the PS3 version is the inferior version. The PS3 caused this game's delay from 2007 into 2008, and is still weeks behind in development compared to the 360 version. It has many graphical glitches and framerate issues that are nonexistant in the 360 version, which is already complete. It has been stated in previews that the 360 version has more vibrant graphics and better lighting, while the PS3 version looks bland and washed out. Also, the 360 version will be getting an exclusive expansion pack that will add 20 hours of new gameplay. The PS3 version will not be getting this. The 360 version is by far the superior version of GTA IV.

its a fun game grand theft auto game but i think some of the past games were better. it just seemed to me the the put a lot of time into the map and not the game. very fun but it just collects dust after you beat it.

I like most gamers fell into the hype for GTA4. I was pump when I first inserted the game in which was fun for the first few missions, but then became very repetitive. Every mission felt the same the dialogue is bad. The online and co-op game play is weak and annoying in which it takes forever to connect with anyone including friends.

So I am completely new the GTA franchise so with all the hype and top reviews I figured I had to pick it up. I have to say however that I am really disappointed at how this game looks. The animation looks 2nd generation and the background graphics look washed out and dull. Compared to games like "Uncharted" which has mind blowing graphics, gameplay, and a natural character movement this game seems second rate.

I could drive and corner at top speed using my GTA 3 with my PS2 but the cars handle so bad in the GTA4 that it makes the game totaly useless and the camera angle while you're driving is way to low on the horizon and close, you can't see where your going. I'm sure they were going for the "realistic effect" saying things in the board meeting room like " its should be more on the natural plan of sight like real driving. Hey genius developers (IT'S A GAME, NOT REAL LIFE). Games are meant for having fun and making you feel like you just can't wait to get back on the game when you are away. Let me tell ya. I play this game TRYING to make myself like it but all I feel is that it is a total waste of time. I am very upset over this game because I loved GTA3 with my PS2. Come on Developers never loose the Fact that they are games NOT REAL LIFE.

This is the same old hash that the GTA series just won't branch of from. Oh boy i get to drive a taxi cab to make some money. Hookers Oh wow. this game is slow and brutaly boring .

Well, I had an actual review of this game which would have placed it at about 8.7-9/10... HOWEVER- This morning I woke up to have some coffee and rob some people only to find that the game would not load- No matter how long I left it. I intend to have an interesting conversation with someone soon on getting my $60 back and not in any hookajoo "giftcard" format. Might not break on you today, maybe not tomorrow- but it'll come to you when you're far into the game... I don't want to start over... I want to finish the game. I can't- I can't even start a new one BECAUSE THERE'S NO TITLE SCREEN! Immediate LOAD! Broken LOAD = Broken game. You've been warned.

Its a great game but at times you cant even see the numbers on the phone because the game looks so dark.
