    A very strong GTA title

Welcome back to Liberty City GTA fans and welcome Niko Bellic. A Russian immigrant that is running away from his past, or is it because he is trying to find someone, or possibly his cousin Roman talked him into moving (I will leave that open to not spoil the game). Starting off I noticed the difference in the controls mechanics of the game. I little adjustment from the older versions but takes little to no time to get use to. I also noticed the difference in driving, controls as well as speed is a factor of the vehicle that you choose. Feeling more simulated in this version I find it to be a great add to this version. With the upgrade to the graphics it gave the new and improved Liberty City a real gritty humid feel to the game. I found that the size of the city as a bit much to handle at first but with the beauty of being able to call a cab it very helpful when you need to navigate through the city. I noticed a lack of labeling the map on this version of GTA (unlike the previous games which everything accessible was labeled). But calling up Roman or other friends, dates etc. you will find that the map will light up with locations. With the deep and detailed storyline and dialog you may find it easy to get sucked into Niko's world. But one thing I have always loved about the GTA series is the humor they add to the game. Take a few minutes away from the game and watch tv, or listen to citizen's phone calls, etc. You will find out that there are a lot of hidden surprises that will have you laughing from time to time. I do hear of issues of the game freezing up which forces the player to loose there current status. I personally have not experience this issue but can say hopefully Rockstar send a patch for download to stop that problem. While game play with the weapons are great I find it hard to get use to the hand to hand combat. there is a bit of lag between throwing punches and setting up combos but may not effect the gamer that likes to use weapons instead of hand to hand combat. But with the intense law enforcement added to GTA IV you may find that breaking the law and adding stars may get very frustrating. But with achievements like like three minutes with a four star rating that should give you a warning about messing with the police. I do strongly recommend this game to adults but give this message to parents planning on buying this for the little ones. Pay close attention to the game and what the seller is telling you about it and read the reasons for the M rating. With it's strong language and content you may not want your children exposed to this much. I still recommend the game over all but of you feel that this may do more than just be a game to your child than stand clear of this title.

Best GTA I've ever played. Driving on this one is a little harder than before, but you'll easily get past that as I did. The missions are more action packed, and the fact that you can actually go out drinking, to the strip club, play pool or even take your girls out on dates makes this the most interactive GTA yet. Straight 10 hands down... Online play is a whole other review. Can't wait for downloadable content. A most have game for any system.

GTA 4 is probably most known for its stunning graphics and amazing story. You play as Niko Belic a Russian imigrant. You will go through some crazy stuff as you try to save yuor cousin roman, and yourself. The setting takes place in Liberty City which is clearly a remake of New York City. Its got everything that NY has. For example The Stastue of Liberty is The Stastue of Happieness. Anyway, you explore 3 different islands. I am not really sure what their names are though. This game does take take realistic to a whole new level by having a 5 out of 5 graphic team. Also by the killing affects. For example you can run over people and they fly all over the place. Also if there is a car on fire and you get near the fire your clothes are set a flame and you roll on the ground. Overall GTA4 is a great game. There is only 1 problem, you can't save games at any time, you have to go to the safe house. =(

This new GTA is exactly what the series needed which is a long overdue facelift. It has a great graphic overhaul for the series as well as finally including some decent multiplayer as it is nice to be able to play with friends in this nice big city. Liberty City is full of a lot of things to do since the last time we visited it awhile back. Controls are pretty solid once you get use to it. Multiplayer is pretty fun with a variety of settings that should keep you busy for some time besides all the things you can do in game. Not much to complain about this game other then the glitches of dissapearing vehicles and understanding some of the characters words as some use heavy accents. Though with subtitles everything is fine. Overall you can't go wrong with this game if you are a fan of the series as it is a perfect sequal.

I'm a big fan of the GTA series. This game only made me more of a fan after being a bit let down by San Andreas. First off, you can interact with nearly EVERYTHING in this city. You can pick up a brick and hurl it at an enemy, find numerous small alleyways with a fire escape you can run up, and find side missions with average people on the street. The missions are very fun, and start you off small. And when I say small, I mean it! One mission involves throwing a brick through a window, haha. But eventually you get up to the big ones like bank heists, large drug deals and assassinations. The theme of this game is centered around revenge, unlike trying to amass wealth, as is the central theme in most other GTA's. It also plays a part in some missions, where you have to decide whether or not your victim will die. You can choose to let them live and possibly interact with them later on in the game. This feature allows for even more replay-ability. I might start up a new game and change my paths this time. The only drawbacks are: 1. If you're just goofing around and trying to die in amusing ways, the death camera lasts way too short thanks to it being in VERY slow motion (we all know you want to see Niko fly headfirst into a building and then land on a car on the street). 2. The story is pretty good, but it could've lasted longer. I felt like this was a quick story to get through. More filler characters than ones that help develop the story. 3. Whenever you hop up to a small ledge, you actually jump past it and fall to your death. I'd like to think Niko has a little better judgement than that. So overall, despite a few minor drawbacks, this is a very good game. The M rating is well deserved, but who doesn't like that?!

This is a great game, but it is not suitable for young kids, because of the intense violence and language. I recommend this to anyone who liked the previous GTA games, i personally rank this the best out of all of them. You are a man from Russia (i think), who comes to Liberty City to meet his cousin, Roman. Here in liberty city there are many missions that you can do for a variety of different people. There are many guns and cars in the game, and you can fly a helicopter around, but not a plane. The online is fun if you want to kill some people with some friends, and do drive bys. In general, GREAT GAME, FUN ONLINE. 5/5

I GOT A SNEAK PEAK AT THE GAME!!!

OK, let me start off by telling you the bad, me and a couple friends got a sneak peak at the game and there are no airplanes ): ! anyways heres how i works... you no longer frive to missions, you dial up your cellphone with contacts you recive along the way. That is also how you access multiplayer! As you know liberty city is designed after New York City, although ground zero is NOT included nor any asppect of 9/11. What interested me a lot is that to hijack a car you must first break the window with your elbow and then hotwire it. Now to the WANTED, it will no longer be stars. It will be a radius (a circle) that appears on your mini map. The bigger it gets the more "stars" you have. Next, the game will be loaded with a BUNCH BUNCH BUNCH of mini-games. What I loved so much about the sneak peak was the taxi ride. It was real time and you have a view from the backseat. If your wondering how you decide where to go?... a map fills the screen then you point anywhere. Now I saved this one for last because I didn't know how you would react... THE RPG HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT! that means you can no longer get fat or any other attributes/abilities. I dont see why they did this but it did get annoying. I don't know whether there will be cheats or not because I had none to enter. Please report this as helpful so I can post further reviews.

This is by far the best installment of the GTA series. The graphics are amazing, and the movie like cut scenes make the game look more like a movie than a game. Loading time is pretty fast considering there are alot of cut scenes in the game. The graphics in the game are very smooth and life like, from the lighting effects, people, and cars everything looks very realistic. I can not stop playing this game because the storyline keeps you coming back for more. The only bad thing about this game is some of the language used. If you are a parent shopping for a child you may want to think twice about getting this game for them. Overall a great game.

this game is awsome, def living up to its hype, the game play is fun, the story brings you back to criminal "roots" the driving in the gme isnt the same as the other it takes some getting used to, also when you are walking in the middle of the road watch out for cars they WILL kill you more often then you think! 10x worse then before, the way it should be, also sometimes the friendly ai ie pedestrians dont work 100% but im sure there will be a patch that will fix this in the up comming updates, awsome game def worth the wait, def worth the hype they put behind this, Now all I need to do is beat it :)

    A GREAT game

I just picked up the game and so far it is more or less living up to all of the hype it has been receiving. It has good graphics. Well they probably are not the best graphics I have seen, they are good. All of the little details that are included in the game are what make the visuals outstanding. An example is instead of just popping open the door of a parked car, Niko might bust in the window and have to hotwire the car. Ah, it's the little things in life that we cherish. Anyways, there have been many tweaks to the game since the last installment. The new cover and targeting mechanics work great and make the game a lot easier. There are no more ammunition shops; instead to make the game seem more realistic you buy guns out of car trunks. The cell phone is a nice addition and really adds a lot to the game. You can use it to call up NPCs you have met and access multiplayer. These are just a few of the great new additions to the game. (There are too many to name here.) The thing that I like about the multiplayer is the fact that you have free roam of the entire Liberty City. You can go anywhere; do anything, just like in the real game, except now you can have up to 15 other people in there with you. The chaos is endless. Bottom line is this is a GTA game and the best one yet.

I purchased this game a couple of months ago, played through it twice, and have only good things to say about it! The storyline is unlike any other storyline that I've seen in a game before. It's original, fun, and there are even some twists and turns that you'll come across throughout the game. There are MANY different characters that you'll meet throughout the story, and you'll even have a chance to kill some of them. Hehe. The gameplay is fantastic. The driving is realistic, though this can prove to be a pain in the rear sometimes. The voice acting is astounding; you'll find yourself so immersed in the game, that you'll start thinking that you're IN Liberty City, which also looks extroadinary. There are tons of mini-games, such as going bowling and playing darts. (Niko's also able to obtain girlfriends within the game; some of them have special perks which can benefit you as you play!) The variety of weapons, guns and melee weapons, isn't as broad as the previous 'Grand Theft Auto' titles, but this only makes the game more realistic. Of course, you still have the trusty ol' RPG that you can take down choppers with! Overall, I give this game a 5/5, not because I'm following a trend of 5/5's, but because the game DESERVES that rating. It was well worth the wait to purchase this game, and I must say, it was probably the best $60 I've ever spent. Trust me when I say this: If you go out and buy this game today, you will NOT be dissapointed.
