In my opinion i think this is the best game out of the GTA series so far.....the gameplay is great and the storyline is nice to follow....all the new features such as getting cover by hiding in back of a car and all of the new cars there are.....The online play is great....especially the free roaming.....if you want a game with excitement and great gameplay with sick graphics!!.....this is a game i would definetly recommend.....

its a good game i dont understand how poeple would not recommend it when it has the multiplayer mode to play with your friend but its a really awsome game... compare it to anotha game as good as this 1? and how real it could get? it got rated a perfect 10 for a reason. now im not gonna rate it 5 stars cuz that just means ill be lieing but 4 stars sounds just right but other than that its an amazing game prolly game of the year.

GTA IV is an amazing breakthrough in modern gaming! The environment of Liberty City has come to life! From the skyscrapers, to the vehicles, to the weapons, even the water flowing down the rivers have been graphically designed to perfection. The writers from the GTA franchise come through again! A whole new storyline brings a hard-edge and humorous adventure to the game! However, if you have an appreciation for extreme detail and customization in these games, it kind of takes a step backward from GTA SanAndres as far as customizing your cars and your personal style. Also there's no working out or learning new fight moves. But you can hide from the cops in the game which can be fun! I miss going to airports and flying planes like you could in SanAndreas. I think if they made a Grand Theft Auto: SanAndreas II for the modern consoles, and had all the features in the orginal plus the graphics of GTA 4, it would be the greatest game of all time!

This game is so worth the money and is probably the best game out this year. the graphics are amazing and liberty city looks just like NYC. the story is also good and the missions are cool. theres so much to do in the game that you won't finish it in a couple of days. the multiplayer has a lot of games but is hard to get used to. other than that, this game is awesome.

Great videogame. Compared to the other GTA's in the popular series of games; GTA 4 is the best so far, out of all of them.I've played each one, and this one has better cars, better weapons, and now you can use a cellphone to call other characters that you encounter throughout the game (i.e.girlfriends, mobsters, enemies, friends, ect.) Good storyline, fun adventures, and the further you go in the game; the more cool stuff you unlock (like better missions, better weapons, new girlfriends, new areas of the city and map open up.) There's too much great stuff to list, not to mention that with the XBOX 360 version, you can also play LIVE with your friends or other online players. The only con (which isn't much of a con) is that the in between movies that play after you complete a mission or go further in the story; tend to run a little long. But overall, it's a great game for mature teens 14+ or adults, due to the mature nature of the game, and M rating.

Amazing game, groundbreaking graphics and gameplay. This is the new benchmark for the gaming industry and it lives up to all expected hype. The backgrounds and landscape are lush and vibrant, giving it a real life feel as far as the sights and sounds that you would experience being consumed in such a large city. Even the car control and in-game physics are more realistic. Regular old-school Grand Theft Auto events like taking fast turns or smashing into a something at high speeds will surprise even the veteran fan by yielding unexpected, yet entertaining results. The multiplayer feature is also amazing. There are multiple game types that span both regular and ranked modes. The multiplayer lobby itself is very unique as well, placing players that are waiting for games into a freeplay cityscape while waiting to start the matchmaking. The only slight downside (if you could call it a downside) is that it is not at all like the other Grand Theft Auto games as far as the game physics and car handling. In my opinion though it creates a whole new experience for fans of the series, instead of just being another repeat with new character names and skins. Pick it up today!

This is a great game, and definitely revolutionizes the GTA series with its new graphics & gameplay. Definitely one of the greatest games released of the year it was released in. Great graphics, great controls, very challenging, and this game has excellent online play as well. Definitely a keeper for years to come!

Overall great game! The graphics are awesome the different paths of story lines are awesome. The multiplayer is a lot of fun but you can only play one person per console for multiplayer and I would relaly like to be able to play along with my family instead of taking turns. But other than that it is an awesome game.

I was really excited when I first bought this game, but now, I pretty much just feel like I am driving around and really not doing anything. The missions are great, however, if you are chasing someone down, the car doesn't handle that great at all. I've spent a little over 20 hours and have only completed 11% of the game... So it definently is long and has great game play. Plus- there are lots of cheats out on the internet already to help with different cars, more guns, and the ability to change your wanted level. If you have a lot of time to sit down just to play GTA4 then by all means go ahead and do it, but after awhile, it gets really boring. I've also tried to get online to play, but have had a really hard time actually getting into a match.. There are still a few glitches that I can see that needs to be worked on.

This is the first Xbox 360 game I have played. And I can't stop playing! It has got a great story line. And with my HDTV, the graphics are just amazing. However, sometimes the characters move kinda like robots. As far as the AI goes, I am not so satisfied, because sometimes even if you do something bad (minor ones) before the police, they won't come after you anyways. And yea, you don't have to stop for red lights even if there are cops around, lol. This game actually makes me want to buy a luxury car in the future, since you can clearly tell the enormous difference among various cars when you are "driving" in the game.

This game is AMAZING, this is by far the best game on the Xbox 360. It has amazing graphics, storyline will ALWAYS keep you interested, and online is SOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo fun. this game is a must buy.

when i first purchased this game i had an idea about what i would be getting (i had played it before on my friends console). And i must say that when i brought it home and played it, i was not disapointed. right away the game immersed me in a storyline that was as compelling as it was realistic. And of course you must understand that when i say realistic i don't mean the graphics involved with the game, i mean it was like it was almost happening to you. The way the game developers made the storyline so you could make decisions that would ultimately effect the games storyline intrigued me. I was so glad to have finally found a game that left no stone unturned, and left no detail, within the city and within the storyline, to the imagination. aside from some minor glitches in the game's graphics (body parts melted into buildings and such) this game is in my mind "Perfect", and provides truly "addicting" gameplay.

i love this game from the very begining, the story is awesome, and its obvioulsy fun, all the little things they added to the game make it just that much more fun, the cell phone is a great addition, also the gps are just great features about the game. even better is the new and improved way to escape the police, i find it to be much easier allowing me to commit more crimes and get away without having to worry about being arrested, although dating was available in san andreas it was no where near this detailed, i love the fact that you can bowl and do other things, even though i wont waste my time doing it, its just another little thing that makes us feel like we are in liberty city. one of my favorite features has to be the way he breaks into the cars, its beautiful, this will be one of the best games we have ever seen, up there with COD4 and what will be grand turismo, but i would say this will take them all.

The city is so lifelike in this game I would have been happy to pay $60 if there wasnt even a storyline or multiplayer, but there is!! The graphics are amazing, mutliplayer is great and the story is the best in the series. This is a must have.

Welcome back to Liberty City.It's bigger,better,and badder than ever.With fresh new faces at every turn every mission is down to the wire fun,agressive,and action packed like watching an action movie.The story really holds this game together in the end of which path to follow.Take the deal or take your revenge.The soundtrack I had a bit of a problem with because it doesn't hold up to San Andreas soundtrack.The graphics are really good to look at,the controls are spot on.But sometimes when you drive really fast you kind of have a problem stopping and slam into a rail or flip yourself over and you go tumbling.The actors playing the voices of the characters are extremely great at showing the characters emotions:hurt,pain,joy,laughter.This is a great buy to whoever likes GTA it won't let you down.

My review? Oh, that'll take a while to get through the good stuff and just a few seconds to get through the bad! This game offers a huge city that is a almost perfect replica for NYC. I love the people and especially the italians!!! But it has great graphics, great challanges to overcome without some cheats here and there...but the one thing i would change about the game is the length...I is really long, but if i wouldnt have any breaks in my gametime, it would ammount up to 3-5 hours of gameplay. I would love it to be more but, hey they have 'expantion' packs so to speak, so...im fine for now.

This game is great. It is suitable for the whole family. It is not as inapropriate as evryone says. You do not have to do the bad things, that is optional. The only thing you have to do is when you do the campain you may have to take care of some drug dealers. But who cares about drug dealers. They are bad people. In this game you are actually cleaning the streats of mean people. You have to do this with use of force, of couse. But, sometimes you dont achieve your goals without some force. Like, if you tried to talk to a person who was about to shoot you, you would be dead. But if you kicked the gun out of the person's hand and tackled him/her to the ground you would have a better chance. I'm just saying that all the bad things that they say are in this game are optional. It is also a very fun game. You can really do anything you want. You can fly a helicopter then jump out over water and emerge unharmed. Great game, do not imediatly think it is to inapropriate.

Stoked to play,played it for about 12 hours straight when I put it in the system,everything about this game was worth the wait,everything from the patch work on the streets of liberty city to the cracks in the walls when you hit them head on to the bullet holes left in your car after a shootout to the brake calipers on the comet.....this game is phenomenal,I read these negative reviews mainly on repetitive gameplay and hard driving....well folks the driving is more realistic and when you think about it everything is repetitive in a way so you cant rip on something for that but i can understand why some would find the driving hard, but I find it very very easy, I highly recommend this game to anyone 12-90 yrs of age

Though this may not be the most in depth game that I have ever played, it is probably the best GTA that I have ever played. There are more than a couple reasons that I say this, but let's start with the bad... + 1.) The Vehicle Handling - The worst thing about this game in my opinion is how the vehicles are controlled. There are only a very select few cars that I am willing to cruise around in throughout the game because of the poor handling! That is probably just personal preference however. + 2.) Still working on finding this one! + Now, onto the good stuff... + 1.) Niko - The main character is so much better than that of the previous GTA "heroes". He doesn't have that, "I'm CJ *****" attitude, he isn't completely silent, and he isn't convinced that he is the king of the world. Really laid back and only seldom does he spout off some pointless quip. + 2.) The Map - Though I was a big fan of Vice City's map, I have to say that thus far I am enjoying the new Liberty City more. This could just be because of the massive dissapointment they offered up in San Andreas (what a stinker!!!) + 3.) The Minimal, but sufficient customization - I want to start by saying that I am a character customization "NUTZOID", but I found all the different systems that were offered in San Andreas to be neat, but for the most part dead-end wastes of time. GTA isn't really about being this custom character, it's about playing out the story that is in front of you, and besides, you can change up your clothing however you wish and you can still obtain certain properties! That is really good enough, in my opinion, for this game. + 4.) The missions - So far, what I have played, this game is pretty fun. It offers up some fun missions that aren't impossible, but that aren't just a walk in the park. It seems like the faster that you complete the mission the easier it is (once you have played a while you'll know what I'm talking about). + 5.) The Combat - There is a new and vastly improved hand-to-hand fighting system. This new system allows you to punch, kick, block and even disarm your opponent! Also, when wielding a weapon, you can blindfire around corners, and even use cover. + All of that just begins to cover the things that I have found better about this game than the previously released versions! Overall, this is a great game, I would suggest it to any gamer, especially fans of the GTA series!

Got the game a few weeks after it was released and it is a great game, however it is different from previous versions. It has much more graphical detail and the city really seems to be "alive". The missions are still very interesting but have the same style as previous games (i.e. drive to a location and kill a target or retrieve a package). The controls are pretty much the same as in previous games however the car handling has changed to make it more realistic which can take some getting used to. Still a very solid game for gamers who like to follow the story line, but there are fewer side missions and the city is significantly smaller and less diverse than the previous edition.
