Okay, so I bought this product back in May of 2012, I believe, and it worked well. It had great sound quality and all of my songs played excellently. However, as of late, I noticed that one end of the cord, once inserted, would play well until slightly nudged and then it would only play out of the right stereo until adjusted. Now, this isn't too much of a problem to fix unless one is driving (I own a dodge Journey '10 model and when I shift the gears (reverse, park, etc), unless the correct end is in, the song will not play in the left stereo unless I sort of twist the end in my phone) and needs to change songs, park, etc. Also, the cord is too short to stretch to the back seat which isn't too much of a problem for me, but it would have been nice for it to. If it is stretched around there, it plugs out of the hole. I would still recommend this aux cord to others because this problem is easily fixed for me by rotating the ends, as it plays flawlessly in the hole of the radio when the ends are turned. In any case, I'm keeping this cord, but the fact that this problem has arisen is cause for concern and a part of me anticipates future problems with perhaps, the other end, but until then, I'll still like this cord. :D

Great cord for inside your vehicle

A 6-foot MP3 cord that features a spiral tension that reduces it to about 2-feet. The sound quality is great, even when playing from my iPhone, I get great stereo phonics. I use this in my truck, and I think it's the perfect length to reach into the nearby storage compartment (cupholder) without the cord flopping around. It comfortably reaches both the driver and passengers side, again without too much slack. OK, enough about the length. I was a bit concerned that the wide plastic moldings around the metal tip would not fit flush onto my iPhone jack with the rubberized case on. I hate having to remove my case whenever I want to hook it to a cord. I was pleasently surprised when it did fit, but not entirely flush. That is the only reason for not giving it 5-stars. Had the molding been more narrower, it would be nearly perfect. Regardless, the fit was still secure and is a very minor issue and I cant overstate that. If you dont use a case, or dont mind removing it, the cord is great. I recommend this product, and will buy another for the wifes car.

    One nagging quirk

I like the design of this audio cable. I use it in my car AUX port to play my and my daughter's MP3 players. It's nice that it's long enough for her to push the buttons on her player from the back seat, and when I need it up front the cables coil up and aren't in the way. The only nagging thing I don't like is the thickness of the base for the port is too big for me to use on my MP3 player with the protective case on. I need to take the case off to play it in the car, then put it back on when I go walking. Not a huge deal, not a deal breaker, just a nagging quirk that my previous cable didn't have.

I purchased this cable to use when I get audio"Play Away" books from the library. I can plug one end of the cable into the device and one end into the Aux input of my car radio and listen to my book through my car speakers while I drive. I specifically wanted a coiled cable so that I could stretch it out easily if I needed to adjust the device without excess cable getting tangled around the gear shift or dropping down around my feet. When I am not using the cable it easily stores away in my glove box, console or door pocket taking up very little space. Sound quality through cable is good. Only Con is coils are very tight so it does not stretch to full 6ft. length, barely stetches to passenger seat in my Impala.

Works ok, depending on iPhone model / case

I have used this Griffin model aux cable successfully in the past (when I had an iPhone 3G), but this particular cable does not seem to make full contact with my new iPhone 4 input with the "incase" hard case I am using. I noticed the music cutting in and out due to the poor connection, as well as a lot of high-pitched background static when accelerating in the car. If you are using an iPhone 4 with a hard case, I HIGHLY recommend the Monster iCable 800! The cable is 7ft long, appears to be very durable, and the sound is crisp with NO background static at all. I am a loyal Best Buy customer, but I did have to find this particular cable at a different retailer.

    GREAT CORD!!!!!!

I saw that the auxiliary cord was on sale and I was going to be getting a car that had an auxiliary area. Seeing as it was on sale for only 9.99 i decided to proceed and buy it. I did in store pick up which was quick and convenient! the cord is great I have had no problems with it and i have had it for almost a month now. Previous reviewers have said they have had a problem with the length, but I have had no such problems. My auxiliary plug-in is on the passenger side of my car, but this cord is long enough to reach to my side. This is a must buy!!!!!

I purchased this audio cable to plug my MP3 player into my truck's aux jack. It worked great for about 6 months. After that I only heard sound out of the left speakers. If I adjusted the cable sometimes I could hear sound on all speakers but I heard a lot of static. At first i thought it was my aux jack and I was ready to get that replaced until I tried a different aux cable, a 2.00 cable, which works great. I no longer use this cable. It looks rugged but it's very poor quality, at least mine was.

I bought this auxiliary cord was very dissapointed. I opted out of buying the cheapest cord. I thought if I spent a little extra money maybe the quality of the product would be better. I used this in my car to hook up my phone to the aux input. I used this cord about 5-6 times at probably 5-15 minutes each time. I have tried to use it over and over, and the connection is horrible. It worked great the first couple times I used it,and now it does not work at all. Total waste of money!!! I dont know if its the way my connections are but this shouldnt have happened after 5-6 times of use!!!

I bought this because I'd recently bought the cheapest thing I could find from Wal-mart, and was sick of it. i wanted something that would easily reach my seat, but not get tangled around my parking brake or shifter. This cord is just short enough to stay in the slot I have for my mp3 player with ease, and long enough, when extended, to reach my hand and my seat. It gave better sound quality than my Wal-mart cheapo as well, which didn't take too much. I wish they'd put more thought into the connectors, they look as if they'd easily break off, because it doesn't look like it butts up against my Zune, but I haven't broken it yet.

Great Aux. Cord for my ipod

    XLR8TX

I saw this cord in the store and decided to purchase it. I had the orignal one that had come with my first ipod and it was white I now have a 5th generation ipod so I wanted something that matched. Works perfect with my aux in my car stereo. The only thing I didn't like is if I'm along trip driving. I can not use this cord and charge my ipod at the same time. The end is too wide but I just switch back to the old one if I need to charge it at the same time so it's not that big of deal.

This aux. cable works great for me. I mostly use it for my car stereo to my Zune, but I have also used it to connect my laptop to a speaker dock. I love that the cord coils so that you don't have excess cable laying around every where, and it stretches to a decent length for when you need it. The quality is as good as I've ever had, the sound is crisp and clear. the cord itself still looks new even though I have had it for about 4 months.

Works great! A little pricey but the "Guaranteed for Life" is good to have and was a factor in my purchase over others. The only downside is, I thought the 6ft cord would be long enough, but it doesn't reach to the back seat very well...as a new driver for Lyft, I need it to for my passengers who sit in the back and would like to plug their phones in to listen to their own playlists. The coiled cord doesn't stretch out far enough, i guess I may need to exchange it for a longer cord. It is fine for using in the front seats.

I'm giving this product 4 stars because I just bought it the other day, right now I haven't had a problem with it. I'm only rating it with 4 stars because I am not sure how long this AUX cord will last me. Also, it says it stretches 6ft but if you try to pull the coiled cord I'm afraid it's gonna pop out of my radio. But for the most part it's helped put out a good sound throughout my car Bc my last cord the wiring was messed up and would only have the music play on the passenger side of my Jeep

The Griffin Aux cord works with many different devices. It's really sturdy and hasn't shown any wear in it for the past 3 months of use. The main problem with it is that the audio crackles a little bit depending on what song you are listening to. The large plug ends can also possibly not fit in a device you are trying to connect it to. Also the coiled cord can be a pain when it gets tangled up with other wires.

Currently using this in my car to my cd player before I install a new stereo system. No static or noise, good sound. Only complaint is cable is a bit tight and either you need to stretch it a lot before use (which will begin to damage it) or to get one that's 6ft long instead. I keep my cd player on the passenger seat. However if you have a space then I suggest you place it right near your stereo. Otherwise the cable will snap back and disconnect from the cd player back to aux connection in car.

This is a great cable for doing things that I never expect to need them for. Sometimes I am in an older vehicle (or a rental) and dont have time to mess with Blue Tooth so I use this cable for Music... Ive used it to connect the Pill+ to my Sons PC Monitor because he always uses headphone 100%of the time. With internet school, I like to hear the lessons too... The enables me to do a quick connect and walla! Its worth the money and no tangles!

If you're looking for a 6' cord, look elsewhere. This is at best a 1' cord that can allegedly "stretch" to 6' but really, you're never going to do that and neither am I. Luckily, I was just looking for a cord, because, well, they just don't last. This is probably my 30th aux cord I've ever owned. So yeah. For now, it's a good cord. I'm sure it'll c r a p out in a few months to a year and I'll be right back reviewing the next :)

judging from the other reviews here, i don't know if i just bought a bad batch. after hooking my ipod to my car, i kept getting static from the stereo. sometimes, i would have to put my ipod in my lap while i was driving, because that was the only way for the music to play clearly. other times, i would have to fidget with the two ends until the music was clear. i had previously bought a belkin brand auxiliary cable and never had this problem. i am going to try a different brand after this.

The cable is realy good. I like that even in the cold temperatures it doesnt lack in flexibility. However, the cable struggles to stay plugged in when you stretch it past 2 or 3 feet, but that might be on behalf of the jack, and not the cable itself. Hasn't been a lifetime yet, we'll see how long this one lasts. So far i bought two (one for my dad's car and one for mine) and neither of them had any issues with the cable fraying over time.

I am a big BEST BUY shopper, like the stores and staff. I bought this AUX cord on sale for $12 to $15 + tax . Its pretty good. I bought one before I purchased at a $1 store it was horrible cheap static noise when my music was playing. Not with this GRIFFIN AUX cord. It is very clear and the retractable coiling cord is a nice benefit/feature and gives a clear sound. You get what you pay for !-)
