This seems just what GH needed next, do away with the old and in with the new, I cant play for anything but looking forward in learning from this game and experience the crowd reactions to my sucky plays :)

It's been a long time since a new Guitar Hero game. I've played a demo in a store just recently and all I can say is that it is worth the wait. The reason why your existing guitars will not work with the new game is because there are new buttons that you press. The live action adds a TON to the design.

Fun game! New fret button layout makes game more challenging than its predecessors. Live feature audience is a nice touch. The TV feature allows access to new songs and updated features. Only thing it was missing is the ability to play a friend online.

I bought GH Live on a whim. I wasn't sure about it. After playing for a couple hours the most I can come up with is, It's Okay. The main game with the live action audience and band is fun to play once. The crowd turning on you when you start to suck definitely makes you want to play better. But like I said, it's cool to play once. The GHTV I feel is where the game shines the most. The idea being that they will add new songs to the channels throughout the life of the game. I hope that they keep adding more good songs. In my opinion, the song selection in this game sucks. Why is there a Skrillex song on here? There's no guitar in Skrillex. I don't know. All I can say is that this game is fine.

Great game, love the live audiences, Really puts pressure on you to do well. But I'm having a little glitch in the TV feature. Keeps stopping after the intro and i haven't been able to play that portion of the game just yet!

The new chord layout on the guitar makes the higher difficulty levels more challenging, which is great for advanced players and gives beginners a whole new goal to strive for. The LIVE ability is great, always a variety of music to be explored and the audience is actual people, not animation. Feels as close to real as possible from your own home.

Wasn't a fan of the old line of GH games, but the new 2 row layout is great. GHTV is also a lot of fun, with a large variety of songs that keeps being updated. Great game to play with a group of friends.

Love the new config of the 3x2 level buttons. Only downside is that I expected a bit more variety from the initial list of songs. Other than that, awesome game.

Got this for Christmas when it was on sale with the microphone. Fun game takes some practice to get used to it. They are always adding new tracks to the music library which is great, gives it variety. I recommend this game especially if you are a music lover!

Loved the previous incarnation of Guitar Hero. This is still fun, but I didn't research enough to notice that there's a new guitar controller and the gameplay is different as a result. Definitely more challenging with the new setup, just a little disappointed how long it took to figure out what to do, and the game modes can be a little weird to figure out.

We purchased the single guitar bundle PS4 pack from Best Buy yesterday. After playing less than three hours the down strum on the guitar stopped working and the up stroke registered multiple times with one tap. We brought the bundle back for an exchange (Best Buy customer service made this really easy, thank you!) but then when we got home and put the new guitar together the up strum did not work straight out of the box! For the couple songs we got to play, major issues with lag and calibration made any advance type of playing impossible. That could be fixed with a software update (so long as it's not a hardware issue that is causing the lag issues.) BUT pairing defective controllers with the game lag, I would not recommend this to anyone at this time.

I love Music games, GHII was the one that got me started and been a long fan since, fast forward 8 years later. what have they done to this franchise...this is an obvious cash grab. Need new instruments and the old ones wont be backwards compatible, ok i can live with that. I can live with the new changes. BUT what made me return this game was the stupid progression to play a song i really wanted to play, unlike RB. for this game you have to play the same song over and over to be able to afford to unlock another song....of you dont want to wait? then give us MORE MONEY on a game you spend $100 to get and you get to unlock a few more songs without the wait!! This isnt a mobile game or free to play...worst decision ever and i am so done with Activision as a whole. They have taken advantage of the Music fans and i hope this game doenst sell well or change that stupid decision to make you pay real money to unlock more songs.

Bought this with a ps4 console purchase just on the rep of the previous Guitar Hero games and am utterly disgusted with it. First off you only get like 35 songs with the base game. Not only that is not a good mix of old and new rock its just Generic no name rock with some popular band songs thrown in. Cant customize anything with your character it just plays like an FMV game. Miss a few notes and you have real people screaming how much you suck, its just not entertaining at all. Add this to the fact that the GHTV thing they are pushing is a huge rip-off. Basically you can no longer just buy the songs you like and play them, no you have to pay them money for each play through of the song with real money or grind out multiple promotional music videos to get enough free coins buy a play through. It is utter bs! I cant customize anything I cant just play or buy the songs I like and because of Best Buys lame Policy of no game returns I cant even get my money back!! Do yourself a favor and don't buy this game, the guitar is not compatible with rock band now either. If you are looking for a game like this than look at Rock Band 4 at least that comes will a good collection of music.

Love this game! I am a music lover and this is definitely the game for that! I love that you play the songs along with their music videos!

The Live mode makes you a rock star for the audience and GHTV brings free music 24/7, i cant complaint, for me is the best guitar hero.

Great comeback. New buttons are hard to relearn but the streaming channels are great new feature

Song selection is a bit weak. However, the new controller is interesting and a change of pace for long time fans.
