Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the gameplay, new guitar design, and ease of use, with many praising the improved controller and button layout. However, customers are negative about the game's difficulty and the steeper learning curve compared to previous versions. Some also experienced issues with lag, particularly online. The updated features, while generally well-received, presented some challenges for players.

    Revolutionary Concept

The concept put into place of having a live-action audience in the background of your rolling fretboard is incredibly cool. Your bandmates have live reactions to your playing, varying on your performance. It's all pretty revolutionary. The setlist is rather short, however, there is a mode where you can play along with actual music videos in a constantly updated library, so there is something there for people who want to pick it up every now and again.

Having really enjoyed the previous releases of Guitar Hero, this was the next step. Big changes to the controller and the interface but the same approach to matching the game play on the guitar controller. This "live" version does a great job simulating the on-stage experience. Finding the controller to be a bit more difficult to use compared to the previous simple layouts but with the it should get better.

Guitar Hero Live is a clever way to reintroduce MTV to this generation. The game allows you to play along with popular music videos from the last few decades.

Great to play with friends and family or even by yourself. No customization at all really, but they have a huge playlist and GHTV is really cool as well.

Guitar hero returns to what made them a hit in your teenage years. Excellent song collection and same old fun gameplay.

What have they done to GH? Jettisoned all that was good in favor of "live video action", no drums, a crummy new guitar design so that I can't use the ones I already own? Terrible. I guess I can still look forward to Rock Band 4 this holiday.

This is a very relevant modern take on the guitar hero franchise. This is well worth it.

Bought this hoping it would be as fun as the old one but it wasn't. We played it maybe 2 or 3 times and it's been sitting in the corner ever since.

Fails to capture old time fun

I thought this game would recapture the fun from earlier versions years ago. I was wrong. It's just not fun. You can play in front of video footage of a crowd which isn't particularly exciting, or you can play with a fake music video in the background. Just not worth it even on clearance.

This is one of the most laziest games that has been ever made in 2015.

You watch a video instead of animated models. Zero customization options. Same songs from other games sung by cover bands.
