I used to love guitar hero, but this new edition is too complicated and "busy". I enjoyed being able to turn it on, pick a song, and jam out; but with this one you have to go through a lot of hassle just to get playing. Many might enjoy it, but it just wasn't for me.

Always loved the Guitar Hero series but while I appreciate the interaction they are trying to create, I kind of wish they kept the elements of the prior generation which made the game fun. Not all people want to play the game in the mode it is set up under.

Very different than the original guitar hero buttons. I was able to play expert on the older version. I would not recommend this product for anyone who loved the original.

Guitar Hero Live is decent for a bit of last generation nostalgia and it is different from its predecessors but it feels irrelevant for the current gen consoles.

For those of you looking for the old Guitar hero, this is not it. That being said this is a a solid improvement over the old. The five button controller is so 2007, this new 3x2 set up is fun to learn and actually simulates the playing of a real guitar with much better accuracy.
The live playing part is a little lackluster, not many songs to choose from, long intros that you cant skip. A refreshing approach but gameplay is too limited and can be completed in a long night of playing.
What really makes the game is the Guitar Hero TV portion of the game. MTV like music channels that you can play against other online players. At the current time, you will play a few repeated here and there, but the future could hold endless possibilities with Guitar hero's plan to add new songs.

Not bad but not the best

I was excited to see the return of rock band and guitar hero and couldn't wait to play them. The gameplay itself isn't too bad. It took a little while to get used to the new guitar but now I'm doing awesome on it. As noted in another review posted on here, for some reason during single player it lags and screws up yours note streak. Not sure why it does that but it's kind of annoying. It doesn't happen often it just randomly happens in songs. The online is pretty cool and interesting and has a lot of music. My complaint with this game is that there was no real story or much of one and some of the songs that are online only should be in quick play as well. Also the track list is kind of strange and rather small. Other than that, I like this game.

Hadn't played Guitar Hero since the days of XBox 360 and was excited to play on the XBox One. This games was a huge disappointment. I expected it to not be the same game as the previous, but the direct the company has went really hurt the experience. Not something I would recommend.

Bought this game today, and I've been messing around with it for a while. The guitar itself is definitely different, but it's a fun challenge, and the songs on it are awesome because it covers all genres. The graphics are insane, it makes you feel as if you're really playing the venues on it. So far I'm a fan.
