Although I haven't finished the campaign yet so far the missions are very fun, and I'm enjoying them a lot. As for multiplayer, wow! Finally a change to Halo's already great multiplayer! New spartan abilities are super fun! Adding ADS (Aim Down Sights) was a great touch, and sprinting is a welcome default ability. This isn't your fathers Halo. Much has changed and it times it doesn't "feel" like Halo, but most people, including myself, see that as a good thing.

Well, the campaign didn't completely blow my socks off - but it was still really great. It was nice to see a lot of other characters from the Halo universe make an appearance, and a nice way to end the campaign too! The multiplayer world takes some getting used to, it's definitely a new experience. It's been enjoyable so far. Most importantly, I haven't experienced any crashes like I did when MCC released for Xbox1. Overall, great game and great series.

I have always loved Halo campaigns, this was another great one, felt similar, but with some fun changes. Some levels had huge wide open 'arenas' with tons of enemies to fight, and weapons to choose from to tackle the challenge. With a full group of four, it makes the campaign great. This was also the first time I've played Halo online since Halo Reach. It's still a lot of fun, but don't find the maps to be as great as they've been in the past.

Start your campaign in Heroic and invite a couple of friends for an awesome romp through Sanghelios and beyond. Halo at 60fps is very consistent and a blast to play. Leave your preconceptions at the door and just enjoy the fact that this is new Halo and that this game easily is miles better than most games out this generation. Online multiplayer is great fun and very challenging and map pack DLC will be free! When's the last time we got that?

Overall a fun game. The story was believable, but I felt like it could have given more back story in some spots for those not as knowledgeable with Halo lore. Multiplayer is also pretty good.. Old modes like SWAT return, and the new warzone feature keeps things interesting with the ability to summon different weapons with cards from packs you can purchase with credits earned from playing multiplayer.

Halo 5 comes blasting out of the doors full force with great new controls that make you feel more like a super Spartan than ever. The new mantle ability makes moving around the much improved, larger environments an ease. The multiplayer has a ton of options and the smooth controls carry over into this as well. The map variety and the new modes are all great for new and old fans of the franchise.

Incredible graphics and a good throwback to older Halo games with the campaign. Lack of Forge mode out of the box is a disappointment, but not a bigger disappointment than lack of split-screen local play. Forge mode will come, but no split-screen and that really limits a lot of what I played liked about the franchise in previous installments. Still as a single player experience it's very good.

Halo 5: Guardians makes some drastic changes to the formula that launched a major franchise. While these refine the overall gameplay to a brand new standard the campaign is less than stellar. With a lackluster story, short duration and poor pacing Halo 5's campaign could go down as one of the worst Halo campaigns made. If play Halo for multiplayer you're in luck though. Multiplayer is great, allowing for high-speed combat through a diverse array of maps. It's a shame that most unlocks are hidden behind microtransactions, rewarding players who purchase more packs or simply get lucky over those who dedicate time or achieve a certain accomplishment. As a long term Halo fan Halo 5 falls short of all the past games. The campaign, while brilliantly choreographed and graphically amazing, doesn't deliver the same polish feeling that other installments have done. Multiplayer is fun but the underlying system simply is unforgiving, other games rewarded players for dedication and skill; Halo 5 does not. If want to jump into the series I recommend going purchasing Halo: MCC, which works now, or Halo 4.

I have always enjoyed the Halo games for the campaigns, not so much for the multiplayer, and the campaign in Halo 5 is not very good. The story is lacking, the AI companions are terrible (thankfully I played with 3 friends so only had to deal with 1 AI teammate). The story also didn't reflect what the marketing lead me to believe and if you are hoping to play as Master Chief in this game, you will be disappointed (you get to play him in 3 of the 15 missions). The story also makes Chief look like a chump in an attempt to force Locke in as a main character. The problem here is that Locke isn't developed very well and isn't a compelling character. As for multiplayer, I have never been a big fan of the Halo formula, but it seems pretty solid. The new mode was fun but matches last around 30 minutes or so which is too long for my liking so I mostly stuck to the traditional match types. The online servers have been stable and matchmaking was quick so if you like the Halo multiplayer style, you will most likely be happy with this game. Just don't buy it and expect to be blown away by the campaign.

I hear a lot of people comparing FPS games to one another, noting that they are all the same. Halo 5 now has ADS, aim down sight, and increased movement options so the comparisons to COD will occur, but Halo will always be it's own game and have it's own feel. The game is beautiful and feels very polished. Plenty of content to unlock and achievements to earn. High online replay value.. big fan of the brand new War zone gametype.

I've been a big Halo fan for the past 13 years, but didn't like Halo 4 so much. Halo 5 Guardians has exceeded my expectations in every way. Guns and vehicles feel better than ever, and the game is gorgeous. The story hasn't blown me away, but the campaign takes you to beautiful planets for some of the best missions ever in a Halo game. The multiplayer mode Warzone is incredible, and is now the only mode I play. Incredible game.

I had taken a while to get back into FPS shooters, especially the Halo series, but with only playing parts of Halo 4 in the past, I was able to jump right into this new game easily. The graphic improvements are impressive and I enjoy the acting (Nathan Fillion was a great addition). Overall seems like a good shooter with a nice story background that sets up the next title nicely.
